She runs off, and a misunderstanding causes passerby Katsurou to mistake Izzack as a threat. Leo also tries to kill Izzack, leading to him fighting Katsurou. Sierra takes Izzack and Katsurou to meet her Captain and father figure, Chris Engle, the head of Aegis Wing. Cardinal meets Izzack for the first time.

Meanwhile, another rogue Templar makes an attempt on Toshiro's life, though he's saved by a magic user and gifted a strange stone.

Casey learns that Taylor and Jade know of Johnathan O'Connor, while Jade learns of sadness and hurting others.

Summary: Casey happens to save Taylor from some thugs. He recognizes Taylor from the mall and angrily interrogates him about his connection to Johnathan. Taylor reveals he'd been kidnapped by the doctor twice before, while Casey reveals he once worked under him.

Timeline: Takes place after Blast from the Past and before Fight the Bullet

Summary: After Casey leaves the alley where he saved Taylor, Sunny follows him to a warehouse in the docks. It's revealed to be the location of Ammo Clan, a gang of fighters led by Casey. Sunny learns of the gang's former leader who went missing, Aedan, and takes up Casey's request to keep a lookout for him.
Other notes: Omega receives a bracelet from some lower ranked members; this bracelet belongs to Sierra and is revealed in Fight the Bullet.

Summary: While waiting around for Riki at the school, Casey intervenes on some kids picking on Taylor. Casey berates Taylor for not standing up for himself, but he eases up when he learns of Taylor's insecurities after his encounter with the Templars. Casey feels sympathetic towards Taylor, who asks Casey if he can help train him. Two agree to start training every Saturday. Riki shows up at the tail end and Anna shows up afterwards to bring Taylor home.
Crash Course
Timeline: Takes place after Distracted Thoughts
Characters: Casey Calhoun, Taylor Ackart, Chiyoko Uzuki
Summary: Casey and Taylor start their first training session. A magical girl, Chiyoko, spots the two and attacks Casey, believing him to be a thug that was mugging Taylor. She apologizes but grows angry again when she realizes the "thug" was her former trainer. Holding a grudge against Casey for supposedly abandoning her and a friend, Chiyoko attacks him relentlessly. Chiyoko is surprised to learn that Casey has powers of his own, which he never revealed when he was training Chiyoko. Taylor grows upset with their angry arguing and fighting. His powers flare up, blowing both Casey and Chiyoko into the sea. Their fight ends and later talk things over, but Taylor leaves upset at the fact that his powers had scared Chiyoko.
