"Tell you what. How about I just find you at some point, and fight you?""Good luck trying to do that in a city full of this many people..."That was what Viveka had told Daniel. She thought she would never see that muscle goblin again. Boy, was she wrong. Ever since that day, Daniel made it his personal mission to make Vivi's life as difficult as possible. Somehow, someway, Daniel had always managed to find her, and always managed to coerce, pester or provoke her into a fight. She thought he might've been a sore loser looking to "avenge his dignity for his humiliation at her hand" like so many others before her had declared, but no: as it turns out, he really, truly, genuinely just loved fighting. Viveka... did not. Viveka was trained to fight in self defense. She was trained with the mentality to survive, to preserve her vitality, and to help others if she could. Nothing she was taught ever really fell into the category of... fighting for fun. Sure, she could relax and enjoy a book or movie, but... Daniel was the most ridiculous experience she ever had the misfortune of dealing with. She had been stopped by a police officer for a frisking, only to realize it was Daniel once he produced a pair of nunchaku. Another day, she attempted to buy a hot dog, only for the vendor to challenge her to a fight; again, it was Daniel. Most recently, she was fascinated by a street performer, posing as a living statue; only to realize too late that it was, again, Daniel. Each time, they had fought, and to Viveka it was nothing more than a chore. What sickened her was how accustomed she was growing to it... But today, that was the last thing on her mind. Today, she was in the park again, but not for leisure: she felt ill. She found herself laying on a bench, selfishly taking up the entire length of it. Vivi felt bad, but... there were plenty of other benches in the park. She winced at the nausea in her stomach and the thumping in her head. Ugh. Maybe if she blocked out the light, it would ease her pain. She draped an arm over her eyes, hanging it over her head in hopes of maybe helping her rest better. It was an odd bit of positioning, but she knew she wouldn't feel the discomfort as soon as she fell asleep. Hopefully, that would be soon...

Once more, Daniel was travelling around the park, something of a favored haunting ground for the small man. Especially since, with so many people, getting a little sparring match together was shockingly easy. Surprisingly, he wasn't here looking for a fight. At least, that wasn't his main reason. He was traipsing about to gather his thoughts. To focus his brain into thinking of something that would surely wow his new fight buddy, Vivi. Pyrotechnics, rock music, nothing was off the table. Perhaps a flaming table? Exploding flaming table? With rainbow flames? Yes. Perfect. Cut and print.
It was around then that he noticed a familiar form sleeping on a park bench."Ah, clever clever, Vivi! The ol' 'Oh I'm just asleep, no need to worry about me shooting a fist into your face, kung fu style' trick. You never cease to impress me." he said to himself, seemingly unconcerned about who might have overheard him.
With a over exaggerated sneaking motion, Daniel slowly but surely tip-toed over to Vivi's sleeping body. With one arm reaching in a very wide arc from behind her all the way to her shoulder, he ever so lightly tapped her. "Rise and shine, sleepyhead!" he shouted, abandoning all subtlety as he suddenly shook the girl. With such a nice day out, why go about sleeping, when you could instead spend time fighting your new best buddy Daniel?

Vivi groaned as she was violently jostled awake. She winced, removing her arm to squint at the culprit. Normally, she'd be far more alert, possibly striking her disturber out of reflex, but one: she had no doubt that it was that (mostly) harmless idiot Daniel, and two: there was no way she could've mustered up the energy for it, anyway.
"Leave me alone..." she grunted wearily, making a flimsy attempt to shake herself loose from his grip. When that failed, she shifted her other arm to cover up her eyes. "Not... in the mood..."

"Whaaat? Not in the mood? What kinda nonsense is that? How can you not be in the mood?" Daniel seemed almost legitimately confused for a moment. Such harsh realities were hard to grasp, like famine, or war. Not being in the mood for fighting was, to Daniel, like not being in the mood to keep on living.
Well, it was time to get to the bottom of this!
"How about if I change the color of my speech? Make it a bit easier to understand? Does that help ya out at all? Get you in the mood to fight?" Daniel didn't understand what he was saying. It just came to mind, but perhaps it would make more sense to his lil' fight buddy.

"...Wh... What?" She turned her head in the direction of his voice, clearly baffled. Vivi tried to make sense of his statement, but quickly gave up. She just wanted to nap, and talking was too much effort. Hoping Daniel would maybe take a hint for once, she turned onto her side, facing away from him. "...Not today..."

"Aaaahhh, I get it. Sneaky sneaky. I saw through the first guise, but I never suspected this sort of dedication to trickery! You want me to believe that you're not in tip top shape, so that when I let my guard down, you completely dunk me! I got ya, I got ya. You ain't tricking me!" Daniel boasted, though whether he completely misunderstood Vivi's intentions on accident or on purpose was hard to discern. As always, his face didn't...exactly give a clear indication on whether or not he was joking.
"Well, I don't wanna get dunked, so I'm afraid I just can't turn my back to you, and let you own me, so instead, I'm gonna stand here until you finally give up this trick, and fight me. Sound good? You better believe it sounds good! All plans that come from your pal Daniel are of the highest quality!" he smugged, standing confidently over Vivi.

Viveka simply didn't have the energy for this. She just wanted to sleep. Yet, in brief amount of time she was forced to get to know Daniel, she knew that wouldn't be happening any time soon; not so long as he was around. When he wanted a fight, hoo boy did he want it. Maybe she should just give in. Maybe she could even just throw the fight and he'd leave her alone!
...No, no. Daniel wouldn't allow that. Daniel didn't care about wins, Daniel cared about the thrill of combat. The only way he really would leave her alone would be if she gave him what he wanted: a fight. She winced into her arm at the thought. Ughhh. Well, she wouldn't get any rest with him poking and prodding her...
With a reluctant sigh, Vivi slowly pushed herself up, rubbing at her eyes with the back of her arm. As she lowered it, she squinted, then blinked hard, adjusting her eyes to the light. And there in front of her stood Daniel, smiling his goofy smile with the most eager look plastered on his face.
Vivi was going to dread this.
"Fine... Sure... Whatever..." She grumbled, pushing herself onto her feet, wobbling against the bench for support. She shook her head, steadying her balance for a moment before finding the firmness in her legs. She seemed more sluggish than her past encounters with Daniel, but she didn't care. She just wanted him gone.
Vivi created a bit of distance between them before turning back to face him. Taking a fighting stance, she dully stared at the beefy little nuisance before her.
"Yeah... Okay. Let's go..."

With a fight finally offered, Daniel nearly leapt into the air. Well, almost leapt higher than he actually did. "Alright! Rad! Let's get this sucker started, then you can go back to preying on unsuspecting passerby with your deceptions!" he chirped, getting into a fighting stance of his own.
"You know, I've been learning from watching how you fight. Let's see how much I've learned, eh?" he said before he lunged at Vivi, trying to catch her in one of the many holds she had put him in up to that point in time. It was nothing complex, just a simple arm grab...thing. Still, it might give him the element of surprise, and what was a surprise but a present?

"Kh...!" All of Vivi's lethargy seemed to immediately vanish once Daniel rushed at her. While she briefly found herself trapped, she was still more familiar with the technique than he was. She nimbly slipped out of his poorly executed lock, sliding behind him. Then, she hopped up on his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and head for a sleeper hold, and...!
"...Mrgh..."
That was the odd sound she mumbled into Daniel's ear as her arms suddenly fell limp. Whatever burst of energy she had found was gone, and she slumped off of Daniel's back, hitting the ground behind him with a soft thud. Vivi's face winced in pain, though she made no movement as she laid still in the grass. She was still sick, after all, and the sudden exertion had only worsened her state, forcing her unconscious.

Ach! A failure! This girl's good! Daniel was once again impressed, but Vivi made a mistake in trying to get him in another sleeperhold, after that first time. Just a li-
wait, what?
Daniel certainly had a hard time processing what happened when Vivi just up and fainted. Normally, he'd mockingly suggest that the girl was faking it, but... when he turned to look at her, she certainly looked worse for wear. "Yo, Vivs! You okay there?" he called after a short, confused pause. "You need to take a breather buddy?"
after he got no response, he decided to check on her. Heartbeat? Well, her heart was fine, though checking it made Daniel's heartbeat rise a bit. Breathing? Good there. Why did she just faint like that? Lack of energy? Did she not eat well that morning?
Well, only one way to fix that. Daniel picked Vivi up surprisingly gently in his arms, and carried her with him as he went to the best place in town for a quick refuel.
his job, the pizza place.
"Hey Kyle, no time for chit-chat. Think you can get me some wings? Thanks big guy!" he called over to the counter as he sat Vivi down in a booth. When the chicken wings came, he set them in front of her, hoping that their aroma might entice her to awaken.

Viveka was leaned against the inner wall of the booth. Her brow twitched slightly as her eyes began to crack open. She blinked a few times, eyelids fluttering and struggling to remain open. She finally managed to keep them propped up halfway, though it gave her a dazed look. She scrunched up her eyes in an effort to better focus, only to realize the object she was concentrating was.... Daniel. Again. He sat in the booth across from her.
...Wait. Booth?
"Wh... Where?" Vivi tried to ask where they were, but she could only quietly croak out a single word. Her throat felt too hoarse and weak to formulate an entire question.

"Pizza place, Vivs. My pizza place. The pizza place I work. I got you some wings, eat 'em. You seem like you're damn near starving!" Daniel said, laying in his booth with his back propped up against the wall, eating a single chicken wing like a hedonistic Roman emperor eating grapes.
"You should be more careful about that kinda stuff. Can't forget breakfast, it's the most meal of a day...wait, did I forget a word?" Daniel scratched his chin with his free hand in thought before returning to his goofy display.

Viveka stared at Daniel, then turned her gaze at the chicken wings plated before her. She furrowed her brow, leaning forward to examine them. An odd expression crossed her face, perhaps one of hesitation or uncertainty, before it gradually morphed into disdain. She looked back up to him with a frown.
"Uh... Thanks, I guess, but... I can't." Vivi looked away, pushing the plate back towards Daniel. She hesitated again. "I'm... fasting."

"...Fasting?" Daniel said, though it was hard to tell if he was confused, incredulous, or curious about Vivi's statement. "Why didn't you tell me you were fasting bubsy? It would have been nice ta know, eh?" he continued, putting on a goofy smile, though, for once, there seemed to almost be a small, thin layer of seriousness hidden under Daniel's many layers of goofball.
Though Vivi pushed the plate towards him, he pushed it back firmly, but gently. "When was the last time you ate, dingus?" he asked, staring her right in the face.

Viveka stared down the plate of wings again. She closed her eyes with a deep sigh before looking back up to Daniel. She frowned.
"...Remember that hot dog you gave me...?"
