Serial Number: ETU-NL03
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Race: Human? (Eterna Unit)
Date of birth: March 20XX
Quote: "Heh! The name's Terry, and don't you forget it! Now show me whatcha got!"
Home: Aster City; formerly Starlight City
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Family: Theodore Klaus (father); Jedan, Zwei, Quattuor, and Denomi (brothers)
Likes: Exploring, training, shiny rocks & treasure, forests, danger
Dislikes: Romance, Quattuor's overprotectiveness, deep water
Job: Student; Adventurer
Relationship:
Terry depends on Quattuor as his guardian. While Terry does care for his brother, he feels smothered by Quattuor's tendency to be overprotective. Terry usually seems annoyed with him, often snapping at Quat or ignoring simple questions from him.
Personality:
A cocky young teen with a thirst for adventure, Terry is eager to prove himself a competent fighter. He enjoys throwing himself into danger and the adrenaline rush of escaping it. He desires to emulate coolness and independence, but hates being wrong; he'd rather stubbornly go through with a bad decision than admit that he messed up. Should his rashness endanger someone else, well... he'd still have difficulty owning up to his mistake and would likely blame it on other factors. This isn't to say he's careless or uncaring of others - he simply wants to prove to his older brother Quattuor that he can stand on his own, and what better way to do that than to always be right?
That said, his desire to be cool has led to great difficulty for him expressing any tender emotions. He hates feeling sappy or looking vulnerable, so he tries to maintain a carefree, laidback attitude. Unfortunately, this makes it appear as if he takes nothing seriously. This often gets him labeled as a rebel and a troublemaker. He's especially hell for teachers - he has little to no interest in school work and a general disdain for being told what to do. He does better with hands-on activities however and will gladly participate in an educational activity if it seems fun - or, at the very least, if it doesn't seem like work.
Powers:
Eterna Shard
Although Terry possesses an Eterna Shard, it is actually a much smaller piece compared to his brothers' Shards. It is fixed to a small, tightly fastened necklace that he keeps hidden underneath his neck bandana. Its energy has manifested in the form of energy/shockwave attacks that are used to enhance his hand to hand combat.
The Eterna Shard is magically attuned to Terry; even if he drops it, it will always magically stay close to him and cannot be pried away by normal means. This is because the shard is more of an extension of himself than an accessory. Destroying it wouldn't necessarily kill him, but it would absolutely have a devastating effect on his psyche and physical health.
Agility & Athleticism
He's faster than most people his age. If he gets a head start, he can probably outrun most normal adults if chased long enough, though he will tire out eventually. Terry's reflexes are also well honed, often used for dodging, gymnastics or parkour. He's not fast enough to dodge bullets of course, but he's well versed in blocking or avoiding melee attacks - specifically hand to hand combat or sword attacks. He often incorporates gymnastics into his moves, though his tendency to show off can sometimes leave him open.
Strength & Physical Combat
Terry's surprisingly strong. His physical power mostly lies in his upper body strength, so he's best suited for punching and lifting things. He himself has trained in the art of mostly punching, so he has a good idea of the basics of melee combat. If he were to push himself to the absolute limit, he could potentially attain superhuman strength for maybe a second, though it would come at the cost of putting himself out of commission for a few days.
Eterna Fist
Terry's Eterna Shard allowed him to develop the ability to use energy attacks with his punches. The energy manifests in an aura around his fists, increasing damage upon contact. He can also shoot projectile energy attacks if he punches hard enough, or if he does a wind up punch. If he uses the energy while punching the ground, he can cause a large enough tremor to knock over people close to him. He himself doesn't fall over, but it does take him a second to keep his balance.
Eterna Shield
Using the same energy for his punches, Terry throws up his fists to create a physical barrier to protect him or others from attacks. He must keep his arms and fists tense to retain the shield, so he can only keep it up for as long as he remains tense. Ideally he could keep it up for 30 seconds to a minute, but only if he hasn't really used his arms recently or exerted himself in general. This is unlikely, due to his nature of constant fighting. There's no limit to how many times he can use it, but its effectiveness will decrease the more tired or sore his muscles are.
Weaknesses
Unlike his android brothers, Terry absolutely cannot take any fatal attacks. This is made worse by the fact that he's reckless and loves charging into danger. He's ill protected for all manner of attacks and his tendency to taunt and show off can make it easy to attack him while distracted. He also hates backing down from a challenge or being called a coward and will do what he can to prove himself, even if it might be dangerous.
His Eterna Shard is his absolute weak point, but he keeps it hidden. It is tied to his physical and mental well being; cracking it would severely weaken him, while shattering it would most likely make him despondent or permanently coma ridden. Terry himself cannot drain the Eterna Shard's energy from overuse of his abilities since he can't expend enough at once, though it may potentially be drained by other means. Draining its energy would place him in a coma, but so long as the Shard is fully intact, it can be recharged by another Eterna Shard to revitalize him.
History:
With the excitement of Jedan and Zwei quieting down, Dr. Klaus decided to throw himself into researching ways to help humanity again. Though his expertise was machinery, he dabbled in biology, hoping to perhaps find ways for technology to assist living with disabilities or diseases. Soon, he figured the best way to study the human body... was to create one himself.
The result was Terry. Dr. Klaus had no intention to make the experiment an Eterna Unit, but complications in Terry's creation forced the doctor to think on his feet. He'd grown attached to the test tube child, and when his vitals began to rapidly drop, Dr. Klaus turned to the Eternalite for help. In his panic, he thought the energy could somehow assist in stabilizing his vitals, and maybe it could... but with little time to prepare, it seemed impossible.
He would have failed if it weren't for Jedan and Zwei.
Both had appeared when they heard his cry of distress. Dr. Klaus could barely explain what happened, but the brothers were quick to action. Jedan stopped time three times, slowing Terry's vitals long enough for Zwei to use a magical incantation that binded the child's life to an Eterna Shard. It worked; Terry's vitals not only stabilized, but they were stronger than ever.
Dr. Klaus praised Jedan and Zwei's teamwork, cherishing the miracle of Terry's survival. When he was later removed from the tube, Dr. Klaus had just about forgotten the point of his experiment. Ever the emotionalist, he instead found himself doing everything he could to raise a newborn with love and affection. As Terry grew, the doctor eventually realized that he was no longer haunted by his past. He was happy and fulfilled with living in the present, caring for his new son. These feelings of peace and contentment inspired the doctor to create a fourth Eterna Unit, Quattuor. An emotional combat android with a strong sense of justice, he carried Dr. Klaus' hopes to fight for a better future.
For years, Terry was always allowed to explore the island outside. However, in his curiosity to go beyond the sea, he'd nearly drowned. While he was saved, Terry needed time to recover both physically and emotionally. The experience frightened not only him, but Dr. Klaus as well. Even when a month had passed and Terry was willing to explore again, Dr. Klaus thought it best for him to remain inside. Quattuor was angered by this, arguing it was unfair to keep him locked up in a place already so isolated. Dr. Klaus responded poorly and the two had a nasty argument.
Terry spent the next 2 years living in Starlight City. He'd learned from Quattuor that their father created them as experiments to be used as tools of the Eternalite, pulling up old articles as proof. Terry didn't want to believe him - not when he didn't see it for himself. He knew his father wanted him to stay indoors, but he didn't think it meant he was evil.
That changed when Denomi appeared.
Introducing himself as the latest Eterna Unit, Denomi tried to take Terry with him, declaring he would return him to Dr. Klaus, but Quattuor intervened. He was enraged that both Denomi and Dr. Klaus would resort to kidnapping, refusing to let Terry go without a fight. Terry himself could only stand aside and watch as the two fought. The fight was close, but it was clear that Denomi outclassed his brother and Quattuor was soundly defeated. Terry was horrified - he had never seen Quattuor so badly injured before and found himself crying at the sight. All he could do was glare through his tears when Denomi approached him. His whole body shook as he tried to stand his ground. Denomi himself only stared, eventually deciding to leave without him.
Confused and shaken by the experience, Terry began to take up training and honing his own skills. He hated he couldn't do anything to help Quattuor. He hated that Denomi could've just abducted him with no resistance. He hated that feeling of powerlessness and resolved he would never feel or show it again. He wanted to prove he could be independent so that Quattuor wouldn't have to worry so much about him. He wanted to be ready if - no, when - their father came for them again.
The pair eventually moved to Aster City. The brothers had heard vague stories of an evil scientist plaguing the city, and knowing that Dr. Klaus' base wasn't too far from the city itself, Quattuor felt it was his duty to protect the city from their father. Terry felt the same way; he himself had become more daring and reckless over the years (much to Quattuor's chagrin) and it only became more prominent the more protective Quattuor was. Their relationship has become a bit strained because of this.
Terry now spends his time exploring the city, looking for adventure and maybe a bit of trouble when he's not training. If he's not goofing off in the city somewhere, he often spends time in the park or forest.
Anything else:
- He has a fascination with rocks - especially shiny ones, like geodes or gemstones - and keeps a small collection in his room. He doesn't share this fact with anyone, however; he personally thinks it'd sound boring and uncool.
- His magical attunement with his Eterna Shard gives him the ability to faintly detect magic, but it's not passive; he has to actively try to sense it. The only exception to this would be if the magic was incredibly powerful.
He would have failed if it weren't for Jedan and Zwei.

Terry, now 5 years old, remained distressed for a week after their fight. He was upset that he might not ever be allowed outside again. Quattuor promised to convince their father to change his mind, but his ensuing conversation with Dr. Klaus turned sour. Terry himself had no idea what had happened; only that Quattuor came to him in the middle of the night, telling him it wasn't safe for either of them to be there. Though wary, he trusted his brother and the two left in the middle of the night.
