Dislikes: Romance, injustice, Terry's recklessness, needles
Relationships:
He is estranged from his father, Dr. Klaus. Quattuor warily regards him as selfish and evil after learning of his past, and actively avoids mentioning his connection to him. Quattuor also cares deeply about his brother Terry, though it's gotten to the point where the latter feels smothered by his protectiveness. It's been years since he's seen Jedan and Zwei, so any feelings about them have since left his mind. He also hasn't seen Denomi since losing to him in a fight many years ago, but the thought of him gives Quattuor feelings of anger and fear.
Personality:
Quattuor is a kind person with a strong sense of justice and a desire to protect others. He's very dependable and is more than willing to lend a helping hand if asked, though he generally has a difficult time turning down someone in need. His amicable nature makes it easy to approach him. He tends to empathize with others' struggle and plight to the point where he's easily angered by injustice or endangerment of others. Though he does tend to act on these emotions, Quattuor does his best to remain rational and weigh his options before leaping into action. He can usually be kept grounded if he's working with other forces, though he will be quick to defy them if the situation is dire and his emotions are riding high.
Interestingly enough, Quattuor tries to avoid romance, ironically reasoning that "he can't think straight when his head is flooded with too much emotion." If anything, he's easily flustered if a woman starts flirting with him.
Powers:
Eterna Shard
Quattuor's power source that acts as his heart. Its energy can manifest into elemental attacks, though Quattuor is only experienced enough to use four types: wind, fire, water and electricity.
Wind Splitter: A sword technique where Quattuor slashes at the air with his sword, unleashing a projectile crescent made of wind.
Wildfire: A physical attack where flames engulf Quattuor's entire body and he rams himself at the target. Dousing him with water in the middle of the attack will negate the flames.
Aqua Vane: Quattuor leaps up and somersaults, releasing a pinwheel of four water jets. He can hold his sword out while somersaulting to create a buzzsaw effect. He can use this ability to slow his descent while falling, but using it for too long can make him a bit dizzy. He can use it longer if he's underwater. Vulnerable to electricity in this state.
Power Surge: Quattuor discharges red electricity either through his sword or by punching the ground. If he punches the ground, a circle of electricity expands 5 to 10 feet outwards from him, hurting anyone caught in the radius. He cannot avoid harming allies with it. If he discharges electricity through his sword, he can simply do electrical damage when his sword hits, or slash forward an electrical projectile.
Weapon: Zephyr
A metal broadsword embedded with tech, it has the ability to emit a plasma edge. He only activates the plasma edge when fighting against other robots he intends to cut down; otherwise, it's a normal metal sword.
Battle Armor:
As an android, Quattuor can withstand most normal attacks from both armed and unarmed humans, though force and weapon type may vary. However, when actively entering combat, Quattuor materializes a special layer of armor to increase his defenses. It is mostly flat and sleek to emphasize his movement capabilities. The armor itself covers his shoulders and chest, and he obtains a belt, gauntlets and boots. His robotic ear pieces sprout small wing designs and a knight visor to protect his face. Not only does this heighten his resistance to attacks, but it also better protects him from using his own special abilities, which do cause wear to him over time.
Justice Overdrive
A last resort technique that Quattuor doesn't quite understand himself. If faced with a terrible evil or threat and he's exhausted all of his options, a lavender aura overtakes Quattuor and he receives a massive boost to his power and speed for a limited time. This comes at the cost of making him incredibly dangerous to both himself and others. Not only does his body operate at near maximum power, but it forces Quattuor into a berserk state. He has little consideration for innocents or collateral damage and will focus solely on defeating the threat at hand. Quattuor himself doesn't quite recognize that his personality changes, but he can exit the Overdrive if his emotional side is appealed to. Exiting the Overdrive early will always take a toll on him, but his fatigue is at its worst if Quattuor runs the timer out on it.
Weaknesses
Like his brothers, Quattuor cannot overuse his Eterna Shard's special elemental abilities without risk. Normally, overuse can cause his energy to drain faster than it can replenish, but there's also a chance of an explosion if he overexerts himself too hard. Using his special elemental attacks in quick succession can also be taxing on his body, causing wear and damage to himself if a fight drags on long enough. (It causes even more wear if he uses them when he's not armored.) This is also combined with the fact that he hasn't had full proper maintenance due to being a unique android; only Dr. Klaus knows Quattuor's true ins and outs to properly fix any problems, but the two haven't seen each other in about a decade. (He can still undergo repairs from others, however.)
Quattuor can also risk entering Justice Overdrive if he uses his special attacks too much, as his body interprets it as him struggling to defeat a threat.
History:
Finally finding some peace and happiness in his life by raising Terry, Dr. Klaus resolved to try and help humanity once more. He'd seen news reports of rising crime in the nearby Aster City, and he'd gotten first hand accounts from Jedan and Zwei as well. It seemed like a perfect place to start - maybe Dr. Klaus couldn't help on a global scale, but he knew he could at least help the city nearby. Though Jedan and Zwei already lent their assistance to the city's inhabitants in their own ways, Dr. Klaus desired to create someone who would protect others and actively fight for justice. With this in mind, he created Quattuor.
Pleasant and outgoing, Quattuor actually spent most of his time (if not all of it) caring for Terry. This was because he learned that Terry cried for him during the times he was away at Aster City, prompting Quattuor to stay home and play with him. Dr. Klaus was a bit disappointed that Quattuor wouldn't be using his full potential, but he happily accepted him as Terry's caretaker. For several years, the family lived in relative peace.
Disaster struck one day when Terry was five years old. Wanting to explore beyond the island he lived on, he'd wandered into the ocean and nearly drowned. Quattuor thankfully saved him, but the experience left Quattuor, Terry and Dr. Klaus all shaken. Even after Terry had recovered, their father was fearful for his safety and forbade him from going outside. Quattuor protested; he was also scared for Terry but argued keeping him locked away would do no good. Dr. Klaus lashed out in anger, blaming Quattuor for allowing Terry to nearly drown in the first place. Offended, Quattuor stormed off.
The fight between Quattuor and Dr. Klaus only distressed Terry further. He was afraid he'd never be allowed out again, but Quattuor promised he'd talk with the doctor and convince him otherwise. Once he was fast asleep, Quattuor set out to make up with his father, but... another thought came to him: just why were they living on an isolated island? Dr. Klaus had never told Quattuor about his past, so he took it upon himself to look it up.
He was horrified with what he found out. Quattuor had found articles and reports about Dr. Klaus' involvement with a criminal who endangered his old research facility, as well as articles speculating about his supposed theft of the Eternalite. This second part Quattuor knew to be true; Terry himself had a piece of it linked to his life force. He then confronted Dr. Klaus about the purpose of him and his brothers, learning of their roles as Eterna Units - special robots each powered by a shard of Eternalite. Of course, Quattuor jumped to the wrong conclusion. Thinking Dr. Klaus to have been evil all along, Quattuor believed that he only saw the Eterna Units as experiments and tools for his research, caring little for their well being. He argued this point for why he wanted to keep Terry locked up. Angered once more, Dr. Klaus refused to explain himself and locked himself in his own quarters.
Though the doctor hoped to simply cool off and explain himself the next day, Quattuor had other plans. Disgusted at his new revelation, Quattuor visited young Terry in the middle of the night, telling him they wouldn't be safe here. Terry was scared, but trusted him, and the two escaped the island that night.
Quattuor eventually settled in a far away place known as Starlight City. There, he took up work under the Starlight Guard clearing out virus infected robots in the high tech city. He and Terry lived in peace for two years until the sudden appearance of the latest Eterna Unit: Denomi. He tried to take Terry back to Dr. Klaus, but Quattuor intervened, enraged that their father would send someone to abduct a child. He managed to hold his own against Denomi, but only for a short while until it became clear that he far outclassed Quattuor. Suffering the worst defeat of his life, he could only watch helplessly as Denomi approached Terry, unable to even cry out for him to run away. Denomi himself stared at Terry, then for some reason left without him...
Quattuor came to the conclusion that his beatdown was a mere warning for him and Terry from their father. Emotionally wounded at the thought that he couldn't even protect his own brother, Quattuor worked harder since that day, hoping to hone his skills to a fine point. He also became more protective of Terry, much to Terry’s eventual annoyance.
Later on during his time in the Starlight Guard, Quattuor was unaware that a sentient virus tried to infect him, but his body protected him by going into Justice Overdrive. The virus then went on to infect his squad of fellow androids, forcing Quat to cut them down in response. Although Quattuor was found to have killed them in self defense, he had no idea that his comrades were infected. He believed they justifiably attacked him first because he was the hostile one, but he accepted his authority's explanation to avoid trouble. He's felt nothing but immense guilt over the incident since then.
Eventually the Starlight Guard found a high concentration of viral activity affecting robots and technology in Aster City. Feeling out of place in Starlight, Quattuor volunteered to station himself in Aster City. Part of it was a means of him wanting to get away from the awful memory of his fallen comrades, but the other part of Quattuor believed the viral activity to be linked to his father Dr. Klaus. Wanting to protect the city from him, Quattuor was assigned to establish a new branch of the Starlight Guard in Aster City and now lives there with Terry.
