Personality:
Lucia is a social butterfly with a love for entertaining. She might come off as a bit prissy and materialistic, but she is well meaning and cares about the comfort of others. This is in part from her upbringing, where reputation was as good as currency, so it is personally important to her that she make a good impression on people. That isn't to say she entirely cares about reputation alone; as far as she's concerned, it's simply good etiquette. She can be a bit antsy by herself and prefers to keep busy, whether it be planning, organizing, or simply mingling with large groups of people. Her prim demeanor and high standards can be a bit off putting to more regular folk, as it can make her seem a bit snobbish. Despite this and her love of frivolities, her immortality has taught her to appreciate the smaller things in life - especially her close friendships.
Powers:
Vampirism
Since turning, Lucia has become ageless, deceptively strong and agile. She can likely hold her own if forced to defend herself, but she has no combat experience and dislikes the idea of fighting. She can enjoy normal food, but still needs to feed off of blood to survive.
Her vampirism has also granted her faster healing and regeneration, allowing minor or moderate wounds to heal at a faster rate than a normal human's. Serious wounds will take more time, however. All healing can be sped up with some extra consumption of blood, though it would have to be a large or continuous amount.
Lucia can also summon bat wings for herself. She can fly with them, but normally tends to not stray too high from the ground, as she's not terribly confident in her flying ability yet. She prefers to use her wings to give herself a small speed boost or more maneuverability on the ground.
Weaknesses:
Lucia is ageless but can still be killed by normal, lethal means. Sunlight also isn't immediately harmful to her but she is still very sensitive to it or concentrated UV lighting. She tends to either carry a parasol around, or cover up in sunny weather to protect herself.
History:
Lucia was born into a wealthy family in 19th century England. She lived her life in luxury, enjoying good food, fancy dresses and extravagant galas. One could say she was spoiled; she never had to work a day in her life, and she never planned to. Lucia wanted to live like her own mother - married to a wealthy husband with her own servants. She pursued learning the arts not just for her enjoyment, but to impress others - specifically, potential suitors. It was simply the way of the times, but Lucia was more than adapted for it. She was excellent at memorizing the nuances of etiquette, spoken and unspoken. She'd learned to dance and move gracefully, presenting herself as demure and charming. She'd immersed herself in the ways of fine arts and theater, becoming knowledgeable and cultured, befitting her status. She'd dedicated herself to becoming the "ideal" woman, and was confident her future was secured.
Unfortunately, Lucia's efforts also attracted attention from a more unsavory crowd. Desperate for money, a small group of thugs plotted and successfully kidnapped Lucia during a ball, hoping to ransom her off to her family. They hadn't expected the family to ignore their threats and demands. It devastated Lucia - was she worth nothing to them? Was she nothing more than a disposable pawn in her family's social politics? As the days passed, even the thugs grew impatient with the lack of response, and they began to fight amongst themselves. In the heat of the scuffle, one of them fatally wounded Lucia, and it was the last thing she remembered before everything faded to black...
When she awoke, Lucia found herself tended to by Baltasar Rivera - one of her tutors. The man was relieved; he had infiltrated the group of thugs to save her, but when she was wounded, he panicked. Lucia however was still upset about her family's lack of concern for her. That was when Baltasar revealed the truth: the entire time, her family had been frantically working behind the scenes to save her. Skeptical, she asked her tutor to see them, only for him to sadly say:
It had been nearly 200 years since that night.
Baltasar confessed that he was a vampire. In his panic at her fatal wounding, he had turned Lucia into a vampire as well to save her life. All of these years, he watched over her while she slumbered, waiting for the day she would finally wake. Even when her own family passed, he wanted Lucia to know the truth, though this didn't come without guilt on his part. As time went on, Baltasar admitted he questioned his own decision; he had been a vampire for quite some time himself, and feared that turning her was secretly a more selfish act than anything.
It was too much for Lucia to process - she was incredibly distraught, to say the least. While one fear was put to rest, a terrible reality took its place, and it was that she had outlived her family. Though she continued to live, she mourned the loss of her old life. She struggled with the new adjustment for quite some time, only finding some closure when Baltasar showed her her own memorial grave left behind by her family. Reading the heartfelt epitaph that her parents had written for her, Lucia found some semblance of peace and resolved to continue living in this new world.
Lucia at some point moved to Aster City with Baltasar, having heard of the accommodations they had in place for vampires. The pair has since settled in a manor in the forest, which Baltasar often uses to host social events or parties. Baltasar himself currently acts as Lucia's father figure and runs a small company to generate enough income for the pair to live more than comfortably. Meanwhile, Lucia herself has since gained a friendship with a werewolf named Diego, and the pair often meet up with his friends in a smaller, separate building on the property.
Anything else:
- It's not a high priority as it was before but Lucia still desires to find a nice husband lol
- Lucia gives Diego some pocket money by hiring him as a bodyguard for the manor's social events.
