A time to reflect ( Open)

As Kaleo conducted her investigation, Omega had kept silent, leaning against the wall with his arms folded and eyes closed. While this was usually for maintaining his aesthetic, this was also partially for meditation; as soon as Ricky went and immediately made a joke of the whole thing, Omega needed a moment to restrain himself. He cherished his friends, he really did, but there were times the OHaras needed a good smack. This, unfortunately, was one of those times, but he couldn't interfere, lest he get taken in himself. He had only cracked an eye open at Kaleo's mention at a fire metahuman, his subtle gaze shifting to Calhoun.

Calhoun himself shifted in his seat at the phrase, letting out a quiet, almost annoyed sounding sigh, as if he didn't take Kaleo's comment seriously. But, no: Calhoun's reaction was because he did in fact have fire powers of his own. It wasn't a fact he liked to advertise, not just because he was being detained, but because of... other, personal reasons. His friends all knew that: that's why Riki had tried to steer Chief Reynolds away from the subject earlier. But clearly, this woman wasn't so quick to jump the gun.

"The Mayor and two young ladies where attacked in the park a few hours ago, by a fire metahuman and his two friends. Who have the same hair color as as you two."

The OHaras blinked, sharing an understanding in unison. "...Ooohhhhh."

"Wait, don't you mean three ladies, or..." Riki muttered, his voice low enough to still be heard, but not quite a whisper. "...Does that mean the Mayor isn't a cute girl?"

"Oh, huh. I dunno.." Ricky paused. He then looked back to Kaleo, still murmuring. "...Is he still cute?"

Calhoun sharply elbowed them both.

"Ow!"

"Fshh...!"

Both men flinched, rubbing at their sore spots.

"...Sorry." They apologized similarly to a pair of unwilling children. There was also very much a hint of recital in their tone, making it clear this wasn't the first time they engaged in their antics. It certainly wouldn't be the last, that's for sure.

"Young man, am I correct that neither of your knees are injured? If so may you stand up for me?"

Calhoun raised his brows. "...Uhhh." It seemed like a strange request, but... he wasn't a cop or detective. There had to be some reason for it, right? At the very least, it didn't seem like this woman was out to end their gang; she was only looking to capture some idiots who went off and did something stupid. Like, not plain stupid, but illegal stupid. Calhoun knew that he and his friends weren't the latter.

"I mean..." Calhoun shrugged. He sat upright in his seat, pressing his palms onto its armrests. "I did actually scrape it recently," he mentioned, getting to his feet. "...But it ain't nothin' serious." He paused, then lowered his head, almost in embarrassment as he added politely, "...Ma'am."

"Oh, right..." Riki rubbed at his chin with a chuckle, recalling the incident.

"Oh yeah!" Ricky laughed. "You fell up the stairs!"

"S-Shut up...!" Calhoun hissed at them under his breath. It was stressful enough to be dragged into the police station - he didn't have to be humiliated on top of that! Calhoun shook his head, trying to refocus on Kaleo. "...Erm... See?" He pushed his chair back to make more room for himself. "...Just, uh... like this..." He repositioned himself, doing a few half hearted roundhouse kicks on both legs to show his knees were fine. "...And, uh... yeah." He stopped awkwardly. Though they were low effort movements with no power behind them, it was at least evident that Calhoun was experienced with kicking, if not fighting in general.

"Oh, that's neat!" Cassandra folded her hands politely as Toshiro explained his range of magic. When he mentioned his mother, the girl was a bit puzzled as to what he meant. "Wait, what?" she began, but it quickly registered. "...Oh!"

Then the gravity set in.

"...Oh."

Cassandra winced. "Um... sorry..." was the quick condolence she offered. "B-But, um..." She turned aside. She was eager to talk about her studies before, but now she just felt silly after he brought that up. Would it be insensitive to continue? Well, then again, he did ask, so it had to be okay, right?

"I, uh... I can do... Uhhh, don't freak out but...." She hesitated. "...Hexes. Curses. Um, y'know... Witchy stuff." She smiled bashfully. "But not very well!" The girl quickly added. She was eager to talk about it, but she was still very much a beginner. "I can maybe... give someone a runny nose for a day or two. Or change the color of... food." She laughed at the triviality of her abilities. It wasn't very impressive, but one would be surprised at how much effort goes into placing a curse upon someone. "The worst part is testing curses on myself..." She laughed sheepishly.

"(Ugh, come on this is all useless info. Just cut to the chase already!)" Kaede thought while she was still eavesdropping. She had been listening to the conversation for a few minutes, but it seemed like it was taking forever to get to what she wanted to hear. She was then interrupted by someone who said, "Heh, over hearing anything good?". Kaede stops listening and looks to who was talking to her and sees another girl who looked about her age. She wasn't expecting someone to come over and responds to her, "Huh, who are you?" she then needed to think of some sort of excuse, she didn't want to make it look like she was spying on everyone in the office. She quickly came up with something and then said to the girl "I'm just waiting for someone in the office and just wanted to see if they were done with business."

As the young men spoke Kaleo just offered a smile and did her best not to chuckle when the boys said they thought Toshiro was a girl. Yes the more she spoke to these three the more clear it was not them that attacked in the park. " Well he is half Kitsune so yes, you can say he is cute." Kaleo could not help but say. Kaleo then fell silent as the boys spoke among themselves and once again Kaleo did her best not to laugh. So Calhoun fell up stairs? Though when the young man stood up and half heartedly did some kick moves the detective blinked a little. That was more then what she was asking for but it did help a great deal Kaleo smiled and nodded as she wrote everything down. Yes she had more then enough to show these where not the boys that had attacked in the park. Kaleo was going to have a few words with Chief Reynolds... Time had been wasted, the real thugs now had pleanty of time to get away and hide while they had wasted time arresting these innocent boys.. And the stress the poor young men went through.. No doubt before she got here Chief Reynolds was hounding the poor boys trying to get them to admit to something they did not do.. That man needed to go back for retraining.

When she was finished with her notes Kaleo stood up taking out one of her cards and held it out to Calhoun. " I would like to apologize for all the stress you three had to deal with today... Please take my card, if you ever need help with something please feel free to give me a call." Kaleo said as she then moved to the door and under her breath undid the spell she had casted on it. She then opened the door and blinked when she saw her sister but other then that showed no signs that she knew Zosima. "Chief Reynolds! May you please come back in please? We have things to discuss." Kaleo said and waited for the Chief to come back. When he entered Kaleo closed the door behind him and handed him her notes. "Chief Reynolds, its time to let these young men go. They are not the ones from the attack in the park." Kaleo said trying her best not to sound overly annoyed and angry at the time that had been wasted.

Zosima smiled at Kaede's little lie but was not going to press the matter, " Ah I see... I'm Jane. Zosima said giving a false name. She then started to tap her foot as if she was annoyed and looked around. " Oi these guys are slow moving..." She muttered. When the door to the office opened Zosima glanced sideways to see her sister was in the room. Ah yep she was questioning someone it seemed. Zosima then looked at her watch giving a annoyed sigh, " coooome oooonnnnn.... I don't have all day people." She said in a annoyed tone as she waited for someone to get to her. It was all a act of course and hoped she would be ignored for a while.

The magic that Cassandra said she practiced was a bit of a shock, he could just not see a nice girl like her trying magic that hurt people. Worse still she said she had to practice the curses and hex's on herself.. And the way she spoke about it made it seem like it was normal for a human magic user.. Did she not know perhaps she could try learning other types of magic as well? " Um.. Cassandra.. How come you practice magic meant to harm others?" Toshiro asked with concern. He really hoped she would not get upset but the idea of her putting curses and hex's on herself and possibly others did not really sit well with him.

Soon however a officer walked into the room looking at Toshiro. " Sir we have some more questions for you. Please come with me." The officer asked. Toshiro was a pit shocked by this he had already told them everything he knew.. But he guessed he needed to better clarify somthing? Toshiro looked at Cassandra, E-excuse me.." Toshiro said as he then followed the officer. They walked down the hall and into another room. Toshiro walked in first he then looked back at the officer and what he saw made his blood run cold. The officer had was now holding a rather large dagger and was looking at him with pure hate and disgust. " Time to die you fifthly half breed!" The man said and started to charge. " No!" Toshiro cried out as he closed his eyes and flinched. "Zmrazit!" Called out a new voice. Toshiro stood there not breathing for a few seconds, when nothing happened he slowly opened his eyes to see a girl with purple hair in the room holding up a staff and the officer frozen in place. "Who.. Huh... Ahh..." Toshiro said breathlessly and fell backward onto his butt.

Another woman soon walked into the room, It was the janitor from before." I knew they would not be able to resist.. Stupid Templars.. Great job Esme." She said as she then made the Templar drop the dagger and placed some sort of magic cuffs on the Templar that covered his hands. The one called Esme nodded, " No problem Sophie." She replied. Sophie looked at Toshiro and wanted to say something but she could hear people coming. " Oh boy here we go." Sophie She thought to herself. Sophie then looked at Esme, " Esme teleport me and the captive. You stay here a bit longer just in case his guy has a partner." Sophie suggested. Esme nodded, she then said a word in some unkown language and in a blink of a eye Sophie and the Templar where gone just as a young teen girl got to the door.

The OHaras couldn't help but let out a soft, but excited "yoooooo" when Kaleo confirmed that Toshiro was, in fact, still cute regardless of gender. They weren't interested in a date with him or anything by this point, but if he was a kitsune, then surely that meant he was fluffy! And who didn't like fluffy? Honestly, the two young men just seemed genuinely excited to think about the mayor with a fondness similar to seeing a baby seal.

"I would like to apologize for all the stress you three had to deal with today... Please take my card, if you ever need help with something please feel free to give me a call.

"Oh, uh..." Calhoun reached out for her business card, carefully taking it. He held it in his hands and glanced over it a moment before putting it into his pocket. "It's, uh... no problem... really. Uh..." He looked around awkwardly before sitting back down. "...Thanks, ma'am."

Calhoun exchanged glances with his friends as if a weight was lifted. Omega, though still silent, also let out a small breath of relief. He knew it couldn't have been his friends, but it was assuring to have it confirmed. ...He'd still beat them up later, though. In a friendship kind of way.

Shortly after Kaleo called the chief, the portly man rounded the corner in a brisk jog. "Yeah!" He huffed as he entered through the door. "I'm here, I'm here!" He assured Kaleo, not wanting to keep her waiting - especially after her poor review of him earlier. The man did genuinely love his job, but with the advent of all of these new rising threats in the city... Maybe all of those years on the force were finally catching up to him.

"Chief Reynolds, its time to let these young men go. They are not the ones from the attack in the park."

"Oh, ya interrogated 'em already?" The chief folded his arms with a weak smile and his brows sloped back in concern. He much more reserved compared to earlier - he wasn't interested in further stepping on Kaleo's toes. "Well, uh..." He looked over to three seated men. "Good for ya!"

"Why're ya congratulatin'' us?" Calhoun mumbled, crossing his arms and sinking into his chair again. "Yer the one who dragged me here..."

"Hey, be a little nicer 'bout it, could ya?" Chief Reynolds frowned, having heard the man's protest. "S'not every day we just let gang members walk free from here, yanno?" Such a statement from the chief would normally be a comical exaggeration, but the sincerity of his tone was so straightforward and earnest that it honestly caught the other men in the room off guard - Omega included. Did the Chief actually know, or was he joking? Either way, it left them in a stunned silence (not that they were making much noise to begin with), but there was definitely a newfound tension that was absent a moment ago. None of them dared to ask the chief for clarification, however - by this point it was honestly up to Kaleo's interpretation and whether or not they'd finally be dismissed.

"Um.. Cassandra.. How come you practice magic meant to harm others?"

Cassandra froze.

"O-oh... Um..." She managed to stammer. "I, uh... I didn't mean... Wh-when you put it like that..." The girl looked down, focusing as hard as she could on anything that wasn't Toshiro. How foolish of her - she should've known better than to announce her dark studies so... bluntly. "I-It's... I'm not gonna..." The girl continued to fumble; she just couldn't form thoughts or words. There was so much she could've said, that she wanted to say, but... she was nothing more than a deer in the headlights by this point.

So when an officer showed up to bring Toshiro back for further questioning, Cassandra was more than relieved that she would be left alone. If there was anything she needed, it was a quiet moment to herself. After the kitsune had left, she breathed in deep, trying to clear her head. There was so much to explain - some of it trauma, while much of it was... well, probably what others would call ridiculous. Maybe she shouldn't have brought it up at all. Maybe she should just go back to staying in...

Cassandra quickly snapped out of her doubt and self-pity when she heard a loud shout. She couldn't hear what exactly it was thanks to the room being soundproofed; her only window for sound was the crack in the door that the officer had left open. Should... she go check? No, no, she was in the safe room for a reason... if there was trouble, it was better for her to stay put. Though she stayed cautious, she was curious as well. Maybe she could just take a peek outside, she thought. Taking her basket with her, Cassandra approached the door slowly, cracking it open ever so slightly in hopes of better understanding what exactly was going on...

When Kaede got acquainted with Jane (who was actually Zosima),decided to introduce herself "Nice to meet ya, the name's Kaede." After a minute had passed, Kaede noticed Jane was looking annoyed and it went on for a few minutes but Kaede decided to pay attention to it. She still needed to see if Kaelo found out where Maruun and his boys were and  had no intention of leaving, or at least that's what she was going to do until she heard some commotion coming down from the hall. It got Kaede's attention and she wasn't sure if it was trouble and she wanted to see what was going on and says to Jane,"hang on, I'll be back in a few." She then headed down the hall towards where the noise was coming from but stopped to check on Toshiro and Cassandra to notice they're not in the room. "(Shoot, I forgot! they're not here, is the safe room...down that way?)" Kaede thought hoping they're weren't in any trouble and ran down the hall hoping to find the safe room, which she unfortunately passed. When she got to what she thought was the safe room that had all the commotion coming from, she opened the door and was expecting trouble but only found some other girl and Toshiro and wasn't sure what was going on and says while a bit confused, "....uhhh, did I miss something?"

Kaede was not the only one to take notice of something going on Zosima heard the shout too. When Kaede took off to see what was going on Zosima was right behind, granted she was to supposed to protect Kaleo she also knew Kaleo would want her to make sure everyone else here was safe as well. However when they got there was a bit of confusion. The mayor was sitting on the floor with shocked/scared expression and a purple haired girl holding a staff. Zosima decided to remain silent though and waited to find out what had happened though she happened to look down at the floor and see a dagger, " Wait.. A dagger?" she asked and looked at the purple haired girl.


Esme looked at the two girls that came, well this must look bad.. The Mayor looking freaked out a dagger on the floor.. She had forgotten about that whoops. Though she said nothing she was going to leave this to Toshiro, well that was if the half kitsune could calm down enough that is.

Toshiro sat there stunned, someone had just tried to kill him... If it not been for the two women that showed up he... When Kaede came to the door and asked if she had missed something the Mayor looked up at her. He was still at a loss for words, he then looked at one of his rescuers. Esme looked at him and smiled, " Its up to you Mayor, my friend and I wanted to stop a mass panic by making sure you where safe. You can tell them what happened if you want to." Esme said using a telepathy magic spell to speak to Toshiro. Little did Toshiro know that Esme has been there the whole time, she was in the hospital with him shortly after he arrived there and followed him over to the police station.


It was a bit odd for Toshiro to hear a voice projected into his mind, he then looked back at Kaede opening his mouth to say something but his voice failed him. Ok he had to calm down, the pink haired girl was right if word he got attacked again may start a panic and look bad on the police. But that dagger.... And the other girl already noticed it. Toshiro then cleared his throat as he stood up. " N-no nothing happened." He quickly said as he then walked out of that room, he made his way back to the safe room going back inside and closed the door behind him. He stood there and stared at the floor doing his best to stay calm but his body trembled.

Esme mean while just offered a smile to Kaede and Zosima and simply went to walk on by them only to be stopped by Zosima when she lifted her arm to block the way. " Do you really take me for a fool? Something clearly happened.." she said. Esme came to a stop and blinked as she looked at Zosima. Esme could tell by the look in the young teen's eyes that she was ready to fight and well Esme had no intent to fight. "Yes, something did happen but its up to the mayor if he wishes to tell you.. For now just know I am on your side." Was Esme's reply. Zosima glared at Esme but decide to take that as a answer and let the purple haired girl walk on by. Esme made her way over to the safe room though did not enter and leaned on a wall holding her staff as if keeping a eye out for anything.

Zosima then sighed and then walked back to the room she was in just before and waited for Kaleo to come out of the office.

Kaleo blinked when it come out the boys here where part of a gang, so that would explain why Chief Reynolds took these boys in and accused them without any proof.. Agh the more she learned the more she felt sorry for the boys. Kaleo did not care if they where in a gang though however, in her books they where cleared of this crime. Anything else they may have done was not up to her to judge them for. Kaleo took noticed of their expressions they seemed worried now the poor dears. Kaleo simply just offered a smile, " Well boys its settled, you may go." She said as Kaleo then walked over to the door then held it open for them.

When the girl had heard someone fast approaching, Cassandra quickly slipped the door back shut, unaware it was Kaede. Not that she'd have any way of knowing - it could've been anyone, honestly. A cop rushing out to a scene, an office worker running late, or... oh no... what if it was a criminal attempting to escape?! Cassandra shook her head; she needed to stop thinking so negatively. "I shouldn't be snooping, anyway..." She thought, quickly hurrying back to her seat. With a sigh, she placed a basket down on the chair next to her. She would be safe here, at least. Just... when was her brother coming back? If those suspects really were those awful guys at the park, then surely the police would be able to deal with them, right? Especially before Omega does... She just hoped he and that nice detective lady were okay.

Whatever had happened outside, it was at least enough to offer Cassandra temporary solace from the embarrassment of excitedly blurting out her interest in dark magic. Maybe now would be a good time to rethink her strategy on that... Not that she was really interested in sharing it anymore. After all, Toshiro was still the Mayor of the city - he had to have had many more important responsibilities to be worried about than some girl's Freudian reasoning as to why she was attempting to learn the dark arts.

Of course, when the young kitsune had returned, he was clearly shaken. He stood still, glued to his spot, eyes firmly cast downwards. He hadn't attempted to move after shutting the door. Was... Was he upset by what she had revealed about the hexes and curses she practiced? No, no, an officer had escorted him out for questioning: it had to be something related to that... especially since that interview was incredibly short.

"Um... Toshiro? What hap..." Cassandra began, then paused. She slowly stood up. Whatever had happened, asking probably wasn't the best option - she knew that feeling all too well. She frowned in concern.

"...Are you okay?"

"Well boys its settled, you may go."

The tension that filled the room immediately dissipated. Calhoun was the most obvious case of this, sinking back in his seat and leaning his head far back enough to release a long, relieved upwards sigh. The OHaras seemed to excitedly murmur something to each other, and even Omega, with his cool posture, let his shoulders drop at the detective's verdict. The change in mood was clear enough that Chief Reynolds couldn't help but laugh.

"Hehehe! Sorry 'bout that," The portly man chuckled, almost sheepish but mostly amused. "Can ya really blame me for the arrest? Gang attacks mayor, leader's got fire powers..." Again, Calhoun grimaced, but the Chief paid him no mind. "And your gang, well, that fits the description right well!"

Riki rose from his seat. "So you... actually knew?"

"'Course!" He laughed. "I've heard stories of ya bozos from a friend of mine, yanno!" He pounded a fist to his chest, then flinched. "...yowuch..." He said under his breath - he hit himself a bit too hard. "Ahrem... But, yeah! You should know him!" He leaned forward, wiggling his eyebrows and speaking in a hushed tone. "Say hi to 'em for me next time ya see him, yeah?"

"Know him? We know him?" Ricky looked to his partner in crime. "Know... who?"

"Hmmm..." Riki clasped at his chin, thinking for a moment before a confident smile crossing his lips. "...Hmhmhm, I think I know exactly who."

As the OHaras conversed with Chief Reynolds, Calhoun approached Kaleo by the door.

"Hey, uh..." He started. "Thanks again for believing us," he scratched at the back of his neck. "Actually, uh... before we go, there's something, uh..." The man was definitely trying to play it cool, but there was a hint of bashfulness in his demeanor. "There's somethin' I wanna ask ya..."

"Ooooh, Boss!" Ricky called out in a teasing grade school voice. "You askin' her out on... a date?"

"What?! No!" He snapped back at him. "Ugh..." Calhoun slapped a hand over his face in embarrassment. "Y'know what, I have yer number on the card, I'll just call you about it..." He hurried past the detective. "Sorry. Thanks. Bye," he said curtly before calling out to the others. "C'mon! We're going!"

The OHaras acknowledged Calhoun, quickly chuckling about something with the Chief before following suit. Moments after they left, Omega followed, though he paused at the door.

"...Thanks."

"Hey, Omega..." Riki frowned as the other man exited Chief Reynold's office. "Did... I do something wrong? Will you talk to me now?"

"Hmph," Omega grunted. "You're fine. It was nothing you did personally."

"Whaaaaa?" Ricky leaned in close. "Dude, you're talking all... normal!" He poked at Omega's cheek. "Are you feelin' okay? Are you sick?" Omega's gloved hand suddenly clamped around Ricky's wrist, holding it in place so it could poke the man no further. Omega glared at him.

"Cease your prodding of darkness, lest you desire to meet your end."

Ricky stared at him in stunned silence. Finally, he let out a laugh. "Oh. Phew!" He was relieved in spite of the man's threat. "Dang, man! I thought somethin' happened to you!"

Omega lowered his voice. "We're in a police station," he frowned. "If I were to act as I normally do..." The man trailed off, briefly locking eyes with the purple haired girl that stood outside of the office. He blinked, then quickly looked back forward. Well, so much for trying to be discreet - maybe she hadn't heard him. Best case scenario, she wouldn't have cared and just thought of him as a weirdo. After all, he was used to that more than anything.

"Ah..." Riki nodded, understanding Omega's reasoning for the change in his behavior. "Fair enough, fair enough."

"Yeah... about that." Calhoun began to the lead the way. "What're you doing here, anyway? Ya didn't seem to be gettin' interrogated like the rest of us..."

"...My sister was targeted by the gang they're looking for." Omega paused. He then smirked. "I just needed to know if I had to kill you guys or not."

[Draken]

Kaede now the only one left in the room decided to not leave just yet, she decided to take a good look at the dagger and then pulls out her phone to take a picture of it and then leaves the room. "Nothing happened huh?" she said to herself as she walked back to where she was waiting for Kaleo, "Seems to look like something did happen. Maybe I should ask Toshiro about it another time...that is if he's out and about." Kaede wasn't sure about what happened but one for sure was that she was beginning to learn that Aster City wasn't just any normal city, in fact if the multitude of people who live here were getting powers from left to right then she'd have to be careful who she'd have to fight and Maruun was a good example of what could happen if she ran into someone like him. If she wanted to survive in this city she would need to have a different strategy.

Toshiro stood there frozen in fear of what just happened, when Cassandra spoke the young mayor jumped and tears started to flow from eyes. He quickly tried to wipe them away but his tears refused to stop. Toshiro looked off to the side still looking down at the floor not being able to bring himself to look at Cassandra. It was to late to hide the fact something happened, so Toshiro opened his mouth to say something but his voice failed him. That moment Toshiro's knees gave out on him and he slid down to the floor as big tears ran down his face. He couldn't hold back his emotions anymore, Toshiro covered his face with his hands as he cried. Everything was just to much... The attack on the school, his parents getting killed, him having to lead a city, the Templars harassing the city... The thug that had attacked him and now a Templar just tried to kill him. Toshiro just did not feel like he was strong enough to handle this, he doubted he could lead the city. The illusion Toshiro had placed on himself had faded away at this point due to Toshiro's unstable emotions.

Esme could hear Toshiro crying through the door, her heart went out to the young Kitsune she could only imagine the stress he was under. She wanted to help him but was unsure how.. Suddenly a idea came to her. She may not be able to help in the way young Toshiro needed but she knew someone who could, Esme reached into her small bag and took out a stone that had runes engraved into it that gave off a slight glow of magic. Esme could just used a spell to phase though the wall but she did not want to scare Cassandra or Toshiro. She waited a bit however before reaching out and gently knocked on the door. "Toshiro, I have something I wish to give you. May I enter?" Esme asked. The sound of shuffling feet could be heard as Toshiro moved away from the door with that Esme opened the door entering the room.

Zosima leaned on the wall as she listened to the muffled voices of those in the office, suddenly the door opened and Kaleo was telling whoever was in there they where free to leave. Looks like time was wasted then if Kaleo deemed them innocent. One of the boys wanted to speak to Kaleo but quickly stopped when teased by one of his friends. Soon they entered the room along with a older man and started talking among themselves. She over heard very thing they talked about. All the while Zosima said nothing trying to stay unnoticed, however Omega took notice and looked over at her. Zosima met his gaze locking eye contact till Omega looked away, she smirked a little. " Ha.. Ok then so they all know each other and he is the older brother of the other girl." " Zosima thought to herself as she kept looking at the boys with no real expression.

Kaleo waited for the boys to leave as she held the door open, she waited for the boys to leave as they chatted a bit, she blinked when it was said one of them had fire powers. But that did not change anything as nether of them had tried to fight to get free and did not use their powers. When Calhoun came up to her Kaleo offered him a smile and just nodded when he thanked her for believing them. "Its no problem dear." She replied. Though blinked again when it seemed he wanted to ask her something, but suddenly stopped when one of his friends teased him, when he said he would call later Kaleo nodded, " Alright then." she replied with a smile. Soon after that Omega went to follow the boys only to stop and thank her. Kaleo smiled at him, " No problem, I do hope your friends have a easier time in the future " Kaleo saying the last part in a whisper. She then closed the door behind her as she then made eye contact with Chief Reynolds. "Chief Reynolds I will be making a copy of all my notes and sending them to you later and if I also find anything new I will update you, I expect the same courtesy from you also. " Kaleo said to the man.

When Toshiro started to cry, well... Cassandra wasn't sure what to do. Normally, she was the one who found herself upset and teary eyed, but... being on the other end had her at a loss. Awkwardly, the girl stood up, hesitantly taking a step or two towards the kitsune. She paused when his illusion faded, but continued to approach. "It's... I-It's okay..." She tried to offer words of comfort. Whether or not things were okay was another thing, but sometimes one just needed to hear a simple reassurance. "It's... I-I'm here, Toshiro," she continued. As she got closer, Cassandra herself couldn't help but feel her own eyes water up, especially after his illusion fell. She had no idea what had happened, but seeing Toshiro so upset... Well, she couldn't help but get a bit upset as well. She didn't want to make it worse however, so she blinked hard, managing to keep her own tears in. There would be time for that later. "It's okay..." She lowered herself to the floor near him. "It's okay... to let it all out."

When a knock and a voice came at the door, Cassandra glanced up. Whoever it was, their tone was gentle and directed at Toshiro. When the kitsune answered her question by moving away, Cassandra quickly followed, though she moved a bit away from the fox to give him space. She wanted to help, but... whoever it was, she didn't want them to think she had hurt Toshiro to begin with, either.

"You have a sister?"

Omega glanced to the OHaras, who had once again reacted in unison.

"I do." He stared at them with a dead expression. "What of it." His tone was flat but sharp, fully aware of the question that came next. The OHaras seemed to read his anticipation however, and simply looked to each other. Ricky motioned as if he should ask, but Riki shook his head. He then opened his mouth to ask himself, but Ricky quickly covered his mouth, shaking his head furiously in response. The two went back and forth, their hand gestures growing more expressive as they seemed silently argue over whether or not they'd ask the question, before it devolved into a playful fight between them. Finally, Ricky managed to free himself from Riki's hand over his mouth, quickly asking all run on together:

"Dudeishecute?!"

"You know what," Calhoun quickly interrupted, clearly tired of their antics. Normally, he'd be amused as anyone else, but Omega had a point - they were still in a police station for god's sake, so acting like the usual pack of numbskulls they tended to be wasn't the best of ideas. He grabbed both Riki and Ricky by the scruff of their shirts, pulling them apart. "We're leavin' now," he grunted, half leading and half dragging them to the exit.

"But bawwwwss..." Riki whined jokingly.

"Don't "but boss" me!" He scolded. "Y'all should know better!"

"Heh..." Ricky snerked. "...Butt boss."

Before Calhoun could scold them again, Omega interrupted.

"I will join you later," He said, looking around. "...I need to bring her home first."

"Yeah, understood," Calhoun acknowledged with a nod. "See ya 'round, Omega."

Omega nodded in return as his boss dragged the other two away with him. As Omega turned to approach the nearest officer to ask where the safe room was, he couldn't help but hear his friend's voices yell down the hall.

<sup>"Boy, I can't wait to go and do drugs on the street!"

"Illegally!"

"That would totally get us arrested by the police!"

"Oh my god you guys STOP!"</sup>

Omega didn't even flinch when he heard Calhoun drop kick both of them out the front door.

"Chief Reynolds I will be making a copy of all my notes and sending them to you later and if I also find anything new I will update you, I expect the same courtesy from you also. "

"Yeah, yeah!" The chief nodded eagerly. "No probs, you can count on me!" He beat a fist against his chest again, though he was much more careful this time. He paused. "...Wait, you mean like, notes on those bozos?" He raised a brow. "I mean... sure, I could do that, yeah, but... They're kinda small fry, yanno?" He picked at his ear idly. "I mean, they're good at fightin', but... I guess they don't really attack other people, huh?" He shrugged. "In fact, Lt. Regan mentioned they're more interested in attackin' each other!" He laughed. Coincidentally, he glanced at one of his security monitors, happening upon Calhoun dropkicking his own friends out the station's front door. "Ooh! Yeah!" He clenched his fists excitedly. "Like that!"

[Draken]

As Kaede stepped out of the now empty room, she walked back towards the waiting room but as she was walking back the whole event with Toshiro and the unkown girl was a bit confusing as she thought about it. It seemed a bit odd for the mayor to say that nothing happened yet have some commotion that can be heard from a distance and also have a dagger laying on the ground made it look like more than just nothing. Now that she thought about it, she would've wanted to talk to Toshiro about it but didn't know where he took off to and when she got back to the waiting room he wasn't there either. In the end she decided to just sit in the waiting room and wait for Kaleo to return. Once Kaede would get to finally leave the police station, she'd hope that she wouldn't have to come back.

Esme entered the safe room closing the door behind her, she had to fight back tears when she saw Toshiro on the floor crying. She just wanted to hug him and tell him everything would be ok but knew those words would be useless right now. Esme then looked over at Cassandra giving a bow in greeting before kneeling down next the weeping mayor. "Toshiro.. I know someone who can teach you more about magic, I have a teacher who lives in magic tower that is right now in the forests of Aster city, In the meadow of flowers." Esme explained. Toshiro's ears perked up a pit at the mention of a magical teacher and he looked over at Esme as she spoke. Esme gave a gentle smile as she then held out the rock with the runes engraved on it. "This rune stone will get you into the tower and it will work only for you, please take it." Esme gently urged. Toshiro looked at the rune stone as it gently glowed with magic, he then reached out and took it. When he did the color of the glow changed from white to blue as if the rune stone was recognizing Toshiro as its new holder. Toshiro blinked in surprise when the color changed he then looked up at Esme and nodded in thanks still unable find his voice at the moment.

Kaleo blinked as Chief Reynolds spoke she sighed and rubbed her nose in annoyance, he thought she was speaking about the boys just now... Just how air headed was this man? " No... I was talking about Maruun and his gang.. I will send you the notes I have collected so far..." Kaleo said doing her best not to sound to annoyed though she was not sure how well she hid that. With that Kaleo then opened the door to the office and left the room. From the corner of her eye she saw Zosima though ignored her for now and looked at Kaede with a weak smile as at this point she felt drained. " Well the wrong people where brought in.. Time to hit the streets later guess.. Anyway lets go check on Toshiro and Cassandra." Kaleo said as she then started to make her way to the safe room. She had been here a few times before for other cases so she knew her way around pretty well.

[Lepa]

Something told Cassandra she shouldn't be here.

Toshiro was still injured from the fight the other day. He had forced himself out here to be questioned, and whatever had happened outside just now, well... it probably wasn't really any of her business. Granted, Cassandra understood what it was like to be too upset to say anything, but... The anxiety that bubbled up in her chest convinced her that just being around him must've made it worse.

Then there was a different knock on the door.

"...Cassandra?"

The sound of her brother's voice quickly quelled her anxiety.

"I-I'm here!" She squeaked, a bit louder than she intended to. She quickly covered her mouth and lowered her face in embarassment. Omega himself had begun to push open the door, but he quickly stopped himself. Instead, he spoke through the crack in the door.

"...Is it... acceptable for me to come in, or...?"

Before he trailed off, Cassandra was this close to blurting out a resounding "yes," but glancing at Toshiro again, she realized that maybe it was best that no one else saw him right now.

"I, uh..." She looked hesitantly at the kitsune and strange girl that sat by him, almost as if she were silently asking if it was okay to leave them be.

"Ooooooh," Both the Chief's head and voice rose and lowered in understanding. "I gotcha, I gotcha!" He nodded eagerly, gesturing a pair of finger guns at the young detective. In spite of his scolding earlier, the rotund man had quickly bounced back to his quirky self. "Don't worry!" He clenched a fist, pounding it into his palm. "I won't let those no good delinquent nerds get away with what they did!" The man puffed out his chest, placing both fists on his hips. He called out to Kaleo as she made her leave. "Just watch! They'll be eating justice like a fat guy eats cake!" He paused. "...And that's a lot of it!" He paused again, then chortled. "Trust me, I would know!"

[Draken]

After the police office left Kaede gets up and says "Man what was he trying to do win a stupid contest? whatever let's get out of here!" She was finally glad she didn't have to stay any longer in the police station but when Kaleo had mention Toshiro and Cassandra she had realized that she still didn't know where they took off to or where the safe room was. She then remembered what had happened earlier down the hall and wondered if she should bring it up to Kaleo or keep quite about for now and wait until later and not have more problems being created. It wasn't too long before they had stopped at another room Kaede had not been to and wondered if this was the safe room, and considering everything that had happened Kaede decided to just let Kaleo do the talking for now to see what would happen.

Soon after getting the rune from Esme another knock was heard and this time it was Cassandra's brother Omega. Could it be the questioning was over? That meant the rest of them would most likely be coming this way to. Toshiro then stood up, he had to get control of himself so far he and Esme where the only ones where who knew of the attack and he wanted to keep it that way. The young mayor put the rune on a coat pocket and took a deep breath and exhaled as he tried to calm his nerves. He noticed how Cassandra was hesitant about letting her brother walk into the room, he gave a weak smile and nodded in thanks. Though... How was he gonna explain why Esme was in the room with them? Toshiro looked at her and Esme smiled and nodded as if saying she would come up with something. Esme could have just used a spell to turn invisible again but seeing as Cassandra has already seen her there was little point in doing so. " Yes you may come in." Toshiro spoke trying to sound as normal as he could even though his nerves where still a bit shot.


Kaleo gave a weak smile at Kaede little comment," Now now Kaede... The Chief is a good man and just made a mistake even I make mistakes time to time. " Yeah she may have been annoyed with him but he was just trying to do his job. When they came to the safe room Kaleo saw that Omega was standing at the door, Kaleo stopped and wondered what was going on but decided to stay silent on the matter for now.
