Today was Mona's day off and she had spent most of the morning in her apartment, watching TV or playing on her used laptop. However Nova her dog started to restless and started to paw at the door as she started to whine looking back at Mona. The red head looked at her dog and sighed, " Time to go out is it? Ok ok just a minute." Mona said as she turned off the TV and went to get her shoes and jacket on. She then grabbed Nova's leash and hooked it on her halter, leaving the apartment Mona locked the door behind her and then made her way down to the park. Once they got there Mona let Nova loose in the dog park part of the park. Mona then sat on on a near by bench taking out a book she had in her bag and started to read though still kept a eye on Nova as she played.

Izzack liked the park. He really did. For the most part, avoiding people was simple, he could breath in fresh air, and this really was the best place to relax with the animals without taking a long trek to the forest. So it was that, today, Izzack found himself deep in the park. He was joined by a small troop of dogs, a few stray cats, and some smaller critters. Animals tended to like Izzack, though he wasn't all too sure as to why. Still, it was a very nice change of pace from his interactions with people, so he wasn't about to look that gift horse in the mouth. Instead, he took advantage of his feral audience, and tried attempting some of the things he was hoping would make him more...personable. Namely, magic. No, not that kind of magic, but magic tricks. So far, his attempts had been...flawed from the start. How did that man do it? It was hard, having actual magic, but pretending that he didn't. "Okay, nothing up my sleeve...and...hey!" he called out in frustration as one of the dogs snatched the little piece of food he had hidden betwixt his fingers, ruining the trick before it could be done. "No, no. I'm not mad, but just because you can smell where the treat is, doesn't mean that you get to have it early...It's okay." he consoled the animal, a stray, from the looks of it, and a rather sad one at that. He sat for a short time, just petting the animals as they circled around him, thinking about how do go about...well, anything. He didn't seem too good at magic, and the other 'street performances' he had done made him feel silly, at the least. "If only people were as easy to get along with as you guys." he sighed. "Why do you guys like me anyway? Is it because of my powers? Nah...that doesn't make any sense..." the young man kept talking to himself, at this moment lost to the world in this little corner of the park, surrounded by creatures that weren't scared of him.

Due to all the animals around Izzack that caught the attention of Nova, so the Australian shepherd made her way over to the grim reaper. She would stand there and watch a bit tilting her head before walking up him. She looked at Izzack mouth slightly opened as she panted a little and was wagging her tail. She saw that the man had given a treat to another dog so she was hoping she would get one too, so Nova then sat down like a good dog and raised her paw as if trying to the hand shake trick.
Mean while Mona was still reading her book and looked up again to mainly keep a eye on Nova, after scanning the park she saw her dog with a group of other animals that where around a oddly dressed man that looked like he had gotten his outfit from a Halloween store. Mona was a little alarmed and put her book back in her bag, she then watched a bit and calmed down. Their was a saying after all that animals can tell the nature of people and if so many animals where around the strange man showed he must be good. Or so that is what Mona hoped that meant. But just to be safe Mona stood up from her bench and walked over to a closer one, sitting down she pulled out her book again but this time pretended to read as she watched over Nova as she was with this grim reaper fellow.

Izzack continued his idle musings, unaware of the new animal's arrival until she was nearly upon him. "Oh! Hello there!" he chirped happily, grasping the dog's paw gently. As he indulged in the dog's trick, he looked over her briefly. "Collar, huh? Where's your owner, buddy?" he asked, pulling a little piece of jerky out of his robe and offering it to Nova. If only real people were this easy to get along with. Speaking of...
"Hey, little uh... Izzack paused a moment to get a better look at the dog's collar. "Nova. That's a good name. Would you like to see a magic trick, Nova?" he asked. Of course, he didn't wait for the beast to answer, and instead he went through the routine he had been reading about. He pulled out another piece of jerky, and began to wave it about, taking extra care this time to keep everything just out of reach. With a sleight of hand motion that would be obvious to anyone with a watchful eye, much less something that could smell the treat with the precision of a dog, Izzack slipped the meat out of view. "Now, where is it? Watch. Nothing up my sleeve, and...There you are!" he finished the trick with an almost robotic flourish, producing the meat from apparently mid-air. It would seem, at least, he wasn't completely hopeless when it came to sleight of hand. "Here's a reward for waiting patiently through that dumb trick, Nova." he said pleasantly as he tossed the dog the treat.

Nova happily ate the jerky Izzy first offered to her wagging her tail happily, when he also said her name Nova stood up and spun around as if saying. " Yep that's my name." She tilted her head again when Izzy started to do the magic trick he had done with the other dog, she sat down and watched when the trick was finished Nova gave a small bark and happily ate a treat again when tossed to her.
Mona started to smile a little now, yeah after watching it was clear the guy dressed like a reaper was a good guy, a bit odd looking and oddly dressed but as the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover. " Guess I should introduce myself. " Mona said to herself as she then stood up. She then walked closer but stopped leaving enough distance enough away from the man. " Make a new friend Nova?" Mona asked as she looked from Nova back to reaper. Nova barked happily and ran back over to Mona wagging her tail looking back at Izzy. "The name is Mona, whats yours?" Mona asked.

Izzack idly interacted with the animals for a short while, until he saw a few of the smaller ones scamper off. "Huh? Wh-"
Someone called out to him.
"B-b-buh! Sorry! I-your dog-she uh! Uh! Sorry!" he stammered, not even grasping the question asked of him. This was the worst. This lady probably thought that he was trying to steal her dog, or something. She was probably going to beat him up, or get someone to beat him up, or beat him up with someone. No matter what, Izzack was probably going to get a few more bruises by the end of the day. Oh, why did animals like him so much? He didn't mean to kidnap someone's dog!
No! Izzack did not kidnap a dog! He just had to be confident, and explain himself to this person before things went bad. I..." he began, shakily, "Was not planning on kidnapping your dog."

Mona blinked at the man's reaction it seemed he thought she was going to hit him or something. When he stuttered out that he was not planning on stealing her dog Mona just stared, "Wow this one sure is jumpy.. I don't think he even heard my question." Mona thought to herself and sighed. She then looked down at Nova and gestured for her to go stand by the man in hopes that could help calm him. Nova did just so walking over to Izzy sitting down and trying to do the hand shake trick again. " That thought did not even cross my mind, if it had I would not have said anything and just done something." Mona said using a bit of logic. Mona stayed where she was thinking if she tried to get any closer the poor fellow would have a heart attack or something. " I did however did try to introduce myself. " Mona stated

"I-introductions! Yes! Of course!" Izzack answered shakily, though he did not give his name. "It is a pleasure to make your aq-aq-aq-it is a pleasure to meet you m-m-ma'am, your dog is very...good!" he stammered. Well, he certainly felt foolish enough. He only hoped that he didn't seem...suspicious? dubious? Bad? God, he just hoped that he didn't seem stupid!
Too late for that, probably.
As it was, he probably seemed particularly dim as he stood there, awkwardly,having said nothing since his last train wreck of a sentence. He wanted to fill in dead air, but nothing came to him.

Mona blinked as she stood there as she looked at the strange dressed man. She was at a bit of a loss of what to do, she could just walk away but then she would feel some guilt not trying to make up for startling him so badly. Well one thing came to mind.. But would this guy even go for it? "Hey, are you hungry? I know of a bakery not to far from here." Mona offered. Ha... Now Mona started to wonder how her friends would react to her to bringing a reaper dressed dude to the bakery. That is if he would even agree to go but hey at least she is trying right?

"H-hungry? I..." Izzack trailed off. It, well, it had been some time since his last meal, and small pieces of meat didn't provide much sustenance, especially when most of it when to the animals. When was the last time he had something decent to eat, again? while he pondered, he was interrupted by a loud growl coming from his stomach, obviously enticed by the woman's offer. "O...oh, uh...I...I don't mean to impose." he said sheepishly. This woman was probably just offering to be nice, after all. Even so, he did feel a small glimmer of hope. She was being nice, so far. Maybe she was one of those people that wouldn't...well...treat him like everyone else did. That'd be nice. He held onto that thought, wary though he was. He just couldn't help but hope.

Mona was a little surprised how fast the strangely dressed man took the offer seeing how scared he was when she first spoke to him. Well now she had to follow through would not be nice to get the guy hopes up just to take back the offer. The young woman nodded as she snapped her fingers calling Nova back to her. " Its only imposeing if you followed me without asking. Alright follow me." Mona said as she put Nova back on the leash and started to walk out of the park. It would not take long to get there but Mona did not want a awkward silence ether, " In case you didn't hear before my name is Mona." " She said repeating her name in hopes the man would now say his name.

Izzack stayed in place for a short time after Mona walked off. While he waited, his mind raged. Should he follow her? Was she telling the truth that she didn't mind? Of course, it was hard to really hear his doubts over his still growling stomach. Ah, shoot. This was quite the pickle Izzack had gotten himself into. He finally made up his mind before the woman got too far away. With a sudden burst of speed, he caught up to her, though he made sure to keep his distance, even though she didn't seem to mind his company...much...for now at least. "Uh...I'm I-Izzack. It's...nice to...meet...you." he managed, feeling dumb immediately. Why was it so hard just to say his name? He thought he had been getting better! Ah jeez, it was probably because she had caught him unaware, but still! It should be easier to simply say his name! "Izzack O'Connor. It's okay if you don't remember, not many people tend to." he continued, though he again inwardly cringed at how pathetic he sounded. Come on, Izzack! Get it together! Well...maybe he would manage to gain a little confidence along the way to, well, wherever Mona was leading them.

Mona had noticed the man was not following her but she did not stop, if he was still debating that was fine. Though soon it seemed he made up his mind as Mona heard his running footsteps to catch up with her. When he said his first name Mona nodded, "Izzack, ok." Mona mostly said to herself as if putting the name to memory. When he said the rest of his name Mona nodded again a bit absent mindedly. "Izzack O'Con-" Mona said stopping herself mostly out of shock as she came to a stop blinking a bit. Never did she think she would meet a O'Connor, the name of the birth father she had never met. Nah no way could this guy be blood related... But now the thought was nagging at her. Getting over her shock Mona started to walk again. She debated though if she wanted to ask if he knew a Hal O'Connor.. Not that it mattered if he did but.. Mona then caved into the desire to ask as it would not really hurt to. "Would you happen to know a Hal O'Connor?" She asked as she walked.

"...Buh?" Izzack was certainly taken aback at the woman's question. Was...was he supposed to know a Hal? Was he related to one? He had never really thought much about who his relatives might be. At least, he stopped thinking about that after he got old enough to realize that they were never going to come back for him. Was this Hal guy supposed to be his dad or something? "I...uh...I'm afraid I don't know a Hal. I'm very sorry, I wish I could be of more use to you! Is he...uh...who is he?" he asked. Normally he wouldn't have requested even so little from someone else, but, well, he had to admit the woman had snagged his interest. Even if, truth be told, he held some resentment for his parents, he would still like to know that they are alive. Maybe that they found out who he was, and wished they'd not left him. Ah, who was he kidding? He wouldn't want to raise an Izzack. Still, it'd be nice to know, at least.

His reaction told Mona all she needed to know, not that she had her hopes up but... deep down she did have the hope of finding at least one possible relative. Mona gave a small smile when Izzack asked who Hal was to her. " Well to be honest he is a stranger to me. Never met the man but a letter I got from my birth Mother said that man is my Father.. Only thing is It was only a one night stand so the man does not even know I exist. And that letter is also the only thing I have from my Mother as well because as soon I was born I was put up for adoption but was ever adopted. " Mona had no real idea why she was telling this to complete stranger but eh whatever its not anything would come of it anyway. "Anyway the bakery is close." Mona said seemingly not really all that bothered with the story she just told.
