He also never seemed to hold grudges - at least, not for very long. He'd try to make amends or let issues go when necessary; anything that truly angered him was often regarded as a big deal by his friends. Overall, he always had a good natured attitude and usually thought with his heart.
Powers:
Hand to Hand Combat:
Though Aedan learned martial arts growing up, when he stopped taking classes for it, he continued to train on his own, refining his own style. Though bits and pieces of his training sometimes showed up while fighting, he had a varied, self-taught style that seemed to leans toward street fighting. Though he didn't seem to have a particular specialization, his style allowed him the flexibly to counter and react to other fighting styles. He also tended to fight clean, avoiding the use of his powers or weapons, as most of his fights were usually friendly romps or competitive bouts against his friends; he was more interested in testing out everyone's skills than winning.
Vermilion Pyre:
Aedan's power that allowed him to cloak himself in flames. Though they only tend to be used to enhance his physical attacks, he had trained with it enough to be able to release small projectile fireballs - a rare attack he almost never used. He was not born with this power, but instead gained it through a magical ritual. If drenched with water, he would still be able to active his Vermilion Pyre ability, but it'll be much more difficult for him. He also tended to avoid using it all together due to his desire to fight on even ground with his friends who lacked powers.
History:
He grew up in Aster City to two parents. Though he was a bright eyed child, he tended to do poorly in school and often got into fights with other kids. Aedan genuinely meant no harm, however: his fights were all in good fun, and he simply perceived it as playing. His parents tried to curb this behavior by enrolling him in a martial arts class. There, he met another kid who would become his best friend - Jayden Adler, presently known as Switch.
Though the classes provided Aedan with an outlet, he continued to do rather poorly in school - it was clear he had no interest in a textbook education. He preferred to study fighting techniques and devoted much of his time attempting to figure out the most optimal movements. His dedication was impressive, to say the least. He almost dropped out of high school completely, but it was only his friendship with Switch that pushed him to barely graduate.
Sometime during the later years of high school, Aedan managed to find an abandoned warehouse where he and Switch would practice sparring. Over time, Aedan gradually fixed up the place. His charisma and desire to train also ended up drawing the attention of "Omega Reload," as well as Aedan recruiting the likes of Jack Brunckhorst and Dearcus King. These people, along with Switch, would go on to become Aedan's inner circle of close friends who would help him lead the gang that would eventually become known as Ammo Clan.
About five years after Ammo Clan's formation, Devitt one day picked a friendly fight with some folks in the city. Though clearly joking and good natured about it, he would later find himself facing the consequences of his actions. While challenged by a random person who seemed to vow to get back at him for what he did, Aedan had no trouble defeating them. Curious, he would return to the original party he toyed with, asking about the enforcer, but would get no reliable answer. Intrigued, Aedan would amuse himself with the same folk again, which would end up summoning another enforcer to fight him. He easily defeated the second one. Though disappointed by the lack of challenge, he decided to continue testing out this system, hoping to one day get a worthy challenger.
That worthy challenger would end up being Casey Calhoun.
Excited by his potential, Aedan immediately offered Casey the chance to join him and his friends, but was immediately turned down. Though Aedan was saddened, Casey was still upset by his first loss and vowed to one day defeat him. Reinvigorated by his declaration, Aedan happily looked forward to it. Eager to see his progress, he would return every so often, taunting Casey's movements with each fight in an effort to help train him. He never used his Vermilion Pyre.
Aedan believed that the best way to understand someone was to fight, and continued to battle with Casey over the span of about two months. During that time, he found it odd that his family was weirdly restrictive, pointing out that Casey should've been able to make his own decisions at his age. Unbeknownst him, this constant questioning chipped away at Casey's conditioning inflicted upon him by the man that controlled him, Johnathan O'Connor.
When Casey didn't show up one day, Aedan was left wondering what could've happened. In spite of Casey's combat progress, Aedan noticed that he seemed to be incredibly troubled with his family lately. His thoughts were quickly interrupted, however; his keen senses allowed him to swiftly dodge a bullet aimed for his head. He quickly spotted the culprit: an enforcer who claimed that his "family" had no more time to waste on him. Aedan had no doubt that this was the same "family" that Casey had been talking about. With this realization, Aedan doubted Casey for a moment: had he given up and sent someone else to off him?
Furious at the thought for even crossing his mind, Aedan activated his Vermilion Pyre and swiftly defeated the gunman in a rare display of viciousness. Dropping the assailant's unconscious body in a trash can, he returned to the meeting spot, left to his thoughts. Did Casey call for this gunman? Was Casey so frustrated with losing that he'd rather kill Aedan? These thoughts ran through Aedan's mind as he remained on high alert, but his suspicions quickly dissolved when Casey finally appeared. While Casey was clearly panicked and concerned for Aedan, the latter brushed away his doubts about Casey. However, because he was still wary about future gunmen appearing, Aedan offered one last fight and invitation for Casey to join his friends. If he declined, Aedan would leave him alone forever.
While Casey came close to defeating him, Aedan unveiled his fire wielding abilities at the last moment, claiming victory over Casey once more. Casey was shocked and awed at the reveal, while Aedan applauded his progress. It was here that he added that his invitation was also an offer to help Casey grow even stronger - which finally swayed him into joining Aedan. When the two arrived at Ammo Clan, Casey was welcomed by Aedan's inner circle and quickly became a part of it. He continued to be an older brother figure towards Casey.
Three years later, Aedan was out and about Aster City. Suddenly confronted by a shady figure, he found himself abruptly blacking out...
When he didn't return to Ammo Clan for the next few days, the gang desperately searched for him. After two months, his inner circle sadly accepted his mysterious disappearance and decided to fight for right to lead the group. Casey won the bout, while Crossfire (Jack) and X-Caliber (Demarcus) parted with the gang. Switch and Omega remained.
While Aedan has been missing ever since, Casey has made sure that his passion for fighting continues to exist in Ammo Clan to this day.
Anything else:
- The back of his jacket has the symbol of Ammo Clan.
- He acquired the Vermilion Pyre sometime between his later years in high school and his time in Ammo Clan.
