The first meeting ( John)

"I see, I see. Well, I shan't be keeping you, for I, too, have other duties to be about today. Other houses to make sure are being maintained, and what have you. Should you see Sean before I, do tell him that I said hello.
It has been too long since our last therapy session. Well, until next we meet, young Jade." with one smooth motion, Johnathan gave Jade a deep, almost theatrical bow. An interesting girl, to be certain. Appeared...well, 'eager' wouldn't be a good word to describe this girl, in any situation, but she certainly seemed more dedicated to her dog walking responsibilities than John felt necessary. Perhaps that's just who she was, or perhaps she had something to hide, and didn't trust herself to not expose it. Either way, she was gone, and now it was time to deal with Sean. With the tiniest twitch of his lips, something that equivalent to a maniacal laugh from a normal person, less trained in restraining his emotions, he pulled out a two way radio from out of his front pocket. "Sean," he began, "It has come to my attention that you have been housing a young girl in one of my homes. I'm at said residence now. When you get the opportunity, I would like to speak to you on this matter." for a time, static was his only answer.

Sean stared blankly at the radio for a time, listening to the static, and trying to think of how to respond. "I'm right on it, John. I'll be there in just a short while. Terribly sorry ta keep ye waitin'" he offered. He was fairly close by now, but there was someone he wanted to talk to first. "Where're ye at, Jade? What happened in there? Are ye okay?" he thought those thoughts as clearly as he could. He wasn't too sure just how Jade's powers worked, but maybe she would be able to read his thoughts from here. It was so strange, thinking about how he was trying to make his thoughts as easy to read as possible, where in just about any other circumstance, he would feel violated by the mere thought of someone reading his mind. Were this not such a stressful situation, he'd be laughing right about now.

Jade was a little surprised that the doctor had let her leave the house so easily. She guessed he must have believed her to a point anyway. Though just in case he was watching her she walked normally so not to raise any suspicion. Though she did pick up on John's thoughts and heard he had called Sean.. That just confirmed she was right in getting out of there now the doctor wished to speak to Sean. When she was away from the house and no longer in danger of being seen she heard Sean's thoughts and he was worried. " I am fine Sean. I told you I had it under control." Jade replied with a hint of being annoyed with the man. She then told him where she was and waited, when got there her arms where crossed and ears lowered showing she was not very pleased with Sean at the moment. " Sean the Doctor is not happy I was there. He put on a kind and friendly act but under that was confusion and anger. He had even brought three others to be his muscle if I was aggressive.. I do not believe it would be wise I stay there any longer.. And I do not think it wise you go and see him right now ether. I heard him contact you and his thoughts where not good. I feel you may be in danger." Jade said rather bluntly. Though if Sean once again ignored her she would have to help him rather or not he wanted her help. There was no way she was going to let Sean face the docter alone right now, not with the mood he was in.

Sean didn't say anything, or think many clear thoughts, rather, for a short time after Jade told him what she had read from Johnathan. "I...see. Well, wee one, I'll have ta talk ta him sooner or later, but if ye feel tha' later is better, perhaps I could talk ta ye, first, see how yer holdin' up after all this?" he offered. He had noticed Jade's...strange body language. It would seem that she was irritated with him, but that didn't make sense, after all, all he did was try to help. Why would she tell him what she had, if she hadn't wanted him to come and help? Sure, she said otherwise, but how could he not come after that? No matter. What was done was done. If she was annoyed with him, then she was annoyed. Nothing to be done about it. "So, what happened, Jade? I'd like to know what ol' John did n' said. I trust ye, to be sure, but I've also been with th' man fer a very long time.
I know his tells, y'see." He explained. If he knew exactly how John had behaved with Jade, then he would have a better read on exactly what kind of mood he was in, and if he had a better idea of his mood, he would be on better footing when he eventually talked to the man.

Jade waited for Sean to finish speaking, she sighed a bit and lowered her arms to her side. He wanted to know what happened in there did he? Jade was unsure how to explain it good enough for Sean to know of these tells that he spoke of. " I am fine as I said. I just don't think I should stay there any longer." Jade replied and paused a bit before going on. She had a idea how Sean could learn what happened though she was not sure if he would trust her enough to do it. But there was only one way to find out. " Sean I am not sure I can explain what happened very well to be of any help. But there is one way I can show you. I can show you my memories of the event that way you will see what happened as if you where there. But I will only do so if you trust me." Jade said and then waited for a answer.

"Ye want ta...well, Jade, far as I see et, ye have no reason ta do anythin' ta hurt me. Not on purpose, anyway. Sure, I trust ye. What d'ye need me ta do?" Sean said, only hesitating for a slightest moment. Not out of distrust for Jade, of course, but rather, for concern over the side effects of whatever Jade was going to do. Still, if it could show him exactly what John was doing at the time when Jade met him...he wasn't as good at reading people as he was, but after so many years with the man, Sean had learned a number of his tells. Maybe he could find out something Jade couldn't? Not too likely, since she could read minds, but maybe he was deliberately masking his thoughts and emotions? Again, who knew how likely that was, but it was something to think about. With these thoughts in his head, Sean stood ready to do whatever Jade requested of him.

Jade nodded and even gave a small smile when Sean said he trusted her. " I just need you to relax Sean." Jade said as she then closed her here eyes as she started to make a connection to Sean's mind. Once she had made it she then started to show Sean her memories. For Sean this would feel like he was there but was looking through Jade's eyes of what she saw. She started to the memory when she first noticed the Doctor coming and the feeling coming off the man when he entered the house with his three men. Sean would see that she served the three men the food she had made and spoke with the doctor answering his questions and showing Sean the doctor's true emotions. Soon it came to the end where Jade left the house and the memory slowly faded away and the connection Jade made with Sean closed. Jade then opened her eyes looking at Sean. " I hope that was helpful Sean. I will stay here as you speak to John, though If I feel you are in danger I will teleport you out." Jade said and there was nothing Sean could say that would change her mind.

Sean seemed frozen for some time, even after Jade's...mind melding wore off. As it was, he was struggling to process just what he had just experienced. "I...Tank ye, Jade. Tha' was...it was insightful, to be sure." he finally managed. Something seemed off about what he had seen, though. Something that didn't mesh well with the John that he knew. A collision of emotions and the quirks of the man that he knew to mean nearly the opposite of what was felt. The whole scenario made things difficult. "Yer help'll be much appreciated, Jade. Somethin' seems off 'ere, an' I'm nae too sure what ta expect." With that, he turned, looking back in the general direction of the house. "Wish me luck, lass. I may just need more than this Irish blood o' mine gives." with that, he was off.

Shortly after entering the safehouse, Sean noticed that John was alone. Those he brought with him were long gone. "You took your time, didn't you, Sean?" was all he said. Sean recognized that tone. It was the tone John nearly always adopted when he was either angry...or he was toying with someone. He hoped it was the latter. "I can only assume that you were talking with that Jade girl, yes? You seem to have taken quite a liking to her,
haven't you?"

"Tch...Tha's...perhaps I 'ave, perhaps I 'aven't, I...suppose ye want ta talk with me abou' how I've been lettin' her stay here, aye? Well, what could I 'ave done, John? Leave her to th' mercy o' th' streets? Leave her alone ta be stuck with who knows wh-"

"I don't mind, Sean." John smoothly interrupted.

"An-ye don't?" Sean was shocked briefly. That...wasn't supposed to go that easily. Still...it was good news, right? Right...? "Ah, well uh...tank ye, John. I didn't mean ta go behind yer back an' all that, but ye know how things like this can get out o' hand, eh?"

"Sean, we both know that you intended to go behind my back. You're too careful and meticulous to let something like this slip. I forgave your lie of omission, don't expect me to forgive a lie right to my face." Johnathan's stare seemed to lower the temperature in the room a good few degrees as he kept his eyes locked with Sean's. "Your reasons for lying to me are your own, but I will not hold them against you. The girl may stay here if she wishes. She hasn't caused much damage to the place. She will have to be relocated, should I decide to move more people in. Unless she wishes to join the family proper? Sean's eyes tensed slightly, giving Johnathan all the information he needed. "Didn't think so. I want you to remember something, Sean. You're tied in closer to me than anyone else in the family. Closer than Julia, closer than Dimitri, closer than all of them. How many reformations have you taken part in, Sean?"

Sean squirmed under John's gaze, just a little. "I have taken part of each one, John. I have been through all of your reformations to date. You know that." he managed, all trace of accent gone.

"Each and every one, Sean. I never liked such things, but what must be done, must be done. Each one has tied you closer to me. Remember where your loyalties lie, Sean. I am willing to forgive you this girl. I am willing to forgive much, so long as you remain loyal. That will be all, Sean. You may leave."

Sean stumbled out the door, feeling as if he had been wrung out like a towel by the other man. "Are you still there, Jade? Are you still listening in?" he thought as clearly as he could, though he was sure to first stop thinking as best he could about 'reformations', not that he wanted to think of such things even without some mindreader focusing on him. He wished he could forget such things entirely. He stood on the curbside, waiting for a response from the girl.

Jade stayed where she was as Sean and John spoke, even from here Jade could feel John's anger. That was something she was fearing but it could not be helped. As she listened in Jade frowned a bit. So he was willing to let her stay... Most likely as a ploy to keep her close so John could try and get a better read on her. And to keep Sean on more of a tight leash as well... Perhaps was would be better she stayed for the time being. It now felt like a bad idea to suddenly just leave after John said she could stay. Though now thanks to Sean being a open book to John the doctor knew she had no plans on joining his little "family" But Jade was more worried about Sean than that right now.


When he left the house Sean started to call out to her, though for a moment Jade stayed silent as she tried to get her thoughts in order. She would have to come up with many plans for the future on how to deal with John when his hospitality came to a end.. For she was sure he was not going to let a loose string like her stay free.. As of right now he most likely agreed to letr her stay to keep her close and for something to hold over Sean. " I am here Sean... I over heard everything." Jade replied with her mind her tone holding no emotion once again. Jade needed to talk to Sean again about everything when they had the chance.. But for now it was not the time to do so..

"Well. I suppose ye heard enough, didn't ye? John's an...interestin' sort. I'll say this, though. He's an honest one. I've never seen him go back on his word. Bend it, yes, but never outright go back on it." Sean said, seeming drained from the experience. "I've seen him do tha' to others, what he did with me. He was toyin' with me. Somethin' must've amused him, I suppose." The more he thought about it, the more things seemed to make sense. John was making a show of force. That's why he brought up the reformations, that's why he made it clear how stuck Sean was to him. He was making it a point to let Sean know that he was trapped.

"Eh...what can ye do, yeah? At least ye got a home. Silver linin's an all that, y'know." he offered, though he didn't seem all that into it.

Jade listened to Sean though he was putting on a brave act she knew he had been rattled. Jade was not very pleased with the event that had just happened, but for now there was nothing she could do.. Yes she got to stay in the house but at what cost? Surely John was not going to leave her alone.. He most likely was going to try and learn about her as well.. But all he was going to get was what she would allow him to learn and a few lies here and there. " Yes... However I do not trust him Sean.. I shall stay for now so not to raise suspension.. But the moment I feel the danger is to great I will leave. I will not allow him to control me like scientists tried to do before I left the lab..." Jade said accidentally letting a little of her past slip.


Jade realized this after she had said it, well nothing she could do about it now.. She Trusted Sean and hoped he would not end up telling John that bit of info.. Jade then sighed and started to make her way back to the house. " I'm coming back now Sean. I have the feeling John may have figured out I was lying about dog walking anyway.." Jade said with a bit of a sigh as she walked back. When she came into view of the house she nodded in greeting when she saw Sean.

"Alright, lass. I'll see ye in a sec." Sean said, tactfully deciding not to bring up the...scientists? Lab? This Jade lass was something else entirely, that was to be sure, but still, if she was kind enough not to dig into what John said, then he could provide a similar amount of decency. No need to dig up what must be old wounds, the way she spoke of it. "Ah. Good ta see ye again." he said. For a moment, he stood there awkwardly, not quite sure what to say.

"So... he said suddenly, clearing his throat, "I suppose I should start settin' up a plan fer if ye have ta leave th' house, eh? Let's see, now. What sort o' place would ye like? I'll try me best to get ye a nice place ta sleep, should worst come ta worst, now." he offered. It wasn't much, but what could he do? Nothing, except for plan for the worst, and hope for the best
