Ethan found himself with a rare moment alone, he is normally with Zoey or Veil, or anyone else from the ghost hunting crew. So he found himself wondering the city not really sure what to do. Until now he never really stopped to look at Aster city, it was filled with many types of people, humans and non humans all living together. He had read up on it before moving here of course but he had been to busy with work to really take notice. Also just like anywhere else spirits where here as well.. He ignored them for the most part if they where harmless. Though there seemed to be many spirits here, he wondered if it was because how magical the city seemed to be.. could be acting like be like a Beacon for those in the realm of the living and the spirit world. No wonder the boss wanted to set up here.. Even he did not really believe in the spirit world and just wanted to make a quick buck.
Ethan soon found himself in the park while he was lost in thought, he saw a hotdog stand and went over buying some food and sat down on a bench as he scanned the park. He then saw somthing that made him pause. " What the..." Ethan said softly to himself as he quickly looked away and straight forward, eating his hotdog. Acting like he had not seen the reaper looking figure that was in the park. If it was a reaper it would be his first encounter with one, he had no idea what would happen if it knew he could see it.

Sometimes, being a font of magical power beyond your own comprehension, and tasked with duties that you find out only as they become vital to perform was not all it was cracked up to be. Izzack turned from a small mound of dirt that he just finished attending to, alerted to...well, it wasn't a feeling, per se. It was more like a string in his soul got plucked, and the resulting note told him that something was amiss. He rubbed his reddened eyes, and tried to find the source of this disturbance. His magical attire would point the way, though it was more of a game of hot or cold with his robe and scythe, literally, at times.
He stepped out from where he was performing his duties, and almost walked right into the anomaly. That sounded mean. The peculiarity? Too scientific. He almost walked right into the ghost problem. Good enough. What was going on here? Izzack could tell that this was a living being, but there was a spiritual essence too strong to possibly ordinary, even in this city of exacerbated expectations. He had seen similar cases before, though if this was the same, it was the most harmonious example of possession that he had ever seen.
"Sir. he called out calmly, for it was unwise to agitate the dead, "Tell me. Are you alright?"
Izzack wasn't fully sure on how to approach the subject of this man's condition, but he knew that if he could get the stranger talking, he could perhaps find out what was wrong with him.

Just as Ethan feared the reaper made his way over to him.. This happened more then he would care for.. It seemed any spiritual being or even humans that could sense spiritual power where drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Ethan remained calm and kept looking forward as if he had not seen or heard Izzack. Though he did feel a ping of guilt, the reaper seemed concerned and his red eyes looked like he had been crying? Well just to be safe Ethan felt it best to act like he was not there... mainly he did not want people staring at him as if he where crazy talking to someone they could not see. A lesson he learned many years ago when he was just a kid. Ethan finished his hotdog, standing up and threw away the wrapper in a near by trash can and started to walk away. " No hard feelings Mr. Reaper... but I can't be seen talking to someone only I can see..." Ethan would think to himself as he walk away in a leisurely pace.

Izzack wasn't stunned to be ignored in such a rude manner, but the man's action did cause him to pause briefly. Reasons to excuse the behavior floated around in his mind, and he thought of near everything, from full spiritual possession which refused to acknowledge his existence, lest he save the host, to the possibility that he just hadn't spoken loud enough to be heard. He stood in contemplation, sifting out the extremes until he came to the revelation that, no matter why he had been ignored, he still had to deal with this man.
With a brief jog, Izzack caught up to the man before he could get too far, and placed a hand on his shoulder. Izzack didn't grip too tightly, but it was clear he did not have any intention of letting go without getting his point across. "I am sorry to bother you, but I must know something of you." he let go of the other's shoulder at that point, secure in that he definitely was known at this point. "There is an unnatural air about you. Tell me, what ails you?"

Ethan had hoped what he had done was enough, but that hope was dashed when the reaper placed a hand on his shoulder with a light grip and spoke more assertively. " Crap..." Ethan would think to himself. This would be the first time a supernatural being touched him trying to get his attention. He had been so shocked by this he stopped walking unintentionally. Though he should have figured a being like a reaper would not be as easy to shake off as normal spirits.. Ethan glanced around and saw some people looking, " Hm? what's going on? One asked out loud mostly to themselves. Another rolled their eyes as they walked passed, Homeless bagger asking for money.." They grumbled to themselves.
Wait what? They could see him too? "Dammit... Ok then this complicates things.. Ethan thought to himself. Not only could he no longer ignore the reaper, he would stand out even more if he kept doing so seeing others could also see him. Ehen then sighed as he then turned to face Izzack. Looks like he was going to have to talk rather he liked it or not. Ethan looked at Izzack as if studying him at first, he was not getting any dark vibes from the man before him. He seemed genuinely concerned for his well being. Well now he just felt like a huge jerk for trying to ignore him. Though what to say? He did not want this reaper to try and exercise him or somthing.
" Nothing ails me." Ethan said calmly. "Though if you want to talk we should probably do so in private... Away from any prying eyes." This place was to open for a talk they where most likely going to end up having.

Izzack kept silent as this strange creature finally responded to him. "I understand." he said when the man was finished, and he turned back towards the trees, and waved a hand, motioning the other to follow him.
Once in the cover of trees, Izzack let down his hood, more clearly showing his face. He looked more haggard than normal. He hadn't been sleeping much these past few weeks. Things were too busy, and the work piled up quicker than he could take care of it. Still, he wasn't about to neglect his duty, especially with a case as odd as the one set before him. "There is something unnatural about you. I'm afraid that sounds rude, but...to be honest, it's the only real way I can describe the feeling you give off. Would you please elaborate about...well, your situation? He talked softly, but clearly. He was obviously taking great care to be understood, while not making too much noise. This place was private, yes, but not isolated. "I can't sense malevolence in your spiritual demeanor, but still, I need to know such things."

Ethan watched as the reaper went into the woods of the park and followed soon after he motion for him to follow, Ethan's heart was racing with nervousness, part of him just wanted to run away... But he knew that would be a bad idea.. The reaper would just chase after him thinking he was human possessed by a evil spirit... No best course of action was to deal with this head on, and talk to him. Sitting down Ethan looked at Izzack after he took off his hood, he looked like a tired old man.. but he sounded young, when he asked his question Ethan sighed and closed his eyes trying to gather his thoughts on how to answer.
" No... its fair.. I must seem very odd to anyone who can feel and see the supernatural, honestly you are the second supernatural being I have ever spoken to.." Ethan was thinking about telling him about Ina the light spirit that had been his mentor of sorts when his powers first fully awakened but now was not really the time. If he asked then perhaps.. "Anyway to answer your question... My name is Ethan and I'm half human and half spirit. And to further prove it he decided to change his form. His whole being seemed to change, where once a plain normal human man once sat was now a man with long white hair, wearing white robes. " You may call me Zion when I'm in this form." Zion said, even his voice was different but it was clear that Ethan and Zion where one and the same. His spiritual presence had stayed the same. ""Have anymore questions?" Zion asked with a soft smile.

The more Izzack learned about this strange man, Zion, the more uneasy he felt. Sure, the more outward indicators of strange creatures that he had, the peculiar way his gear worked, had quieted down as the finger was put on the pulse of this amalgam of living and spiritual energies, but the thinking mind that the robe and scythe worked through couldn't help but remain concerned. How could something like this happen? Was this balance between worlds stable, or would one side eventually snuff out the other. Did the human side have a proper soul? Was Zion Ethan's soul, just given proper form on this side of life?
Izzack was quiet for some time, contemplating these questions. Finally, he spoke up again "What is the cause of this...split? Where are the two of you linked?" He felt as though if he could determine where the fulcrum of this odd split entity lay, he could answer a great many of his questions. Part of his knew the absurdity of that hope, and that any information he had would only increase the volume of his desire for knowledge about this anomaly, but he hoped anyway.

Zion raised a eye brow when Izzack seemed to think he was two different beings. Ah... he must not have explained things to well, oops.... Though he was unsure how to explain he was not two separate beings. " Ah.. sorry there seems to be a misunderstanding..." Zion said as he then turned back into his human form. " I was born this way.. I did not get my spirit form till I was Thirteen years old. Ethan is the name my Mother gave me. Zion is the name my mentor gave me when she helped me learn how to use my powers. Ethan said.
" Guess you can say I am living a bit of a double life not because I want to.. but.. I'm weary how others would react to someone.. like me.. I mean when I was younger I could see things others couldn't and got labeled a freak.. So I started to just ignore spirits around me.. That's the reason I ignored you at first... I thought you where somthing only I could see.. Ethan said calmly as he looked Izzack directly in the eyes. " So I'm not possessed, and I'm not two separate beings tied together. I have a human Mother and a spirit Father. Never met him though as I'm a product of a one night stand." Ethan now hoped that cleared things up.. He really did not want to have to take on a reaper if he could help it.
