((This is Izzack's character; I just wrote up most of the profile for him :3 ))
Name: Raul Hernandez
Nicknames: Spike
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Race: Human (He's actually Half-Orc but doesn't know this)
Home: Aster City
Alliance: None
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Family: N/A
Friends: Casey Calhoun, Eden Hawthorne, his mentor
Rivals: N/A
Enemies: N/A
Likes: Potions, Yellow Ribbon Beer
Dislikes: Failing to protect others
Job: Magus at the Adventurer's Guild
Relationship: He was close to Casey when they traveled together as young teenagers, though they haven't yet gotten in touch or even know the other is in the city. He doesn't mind Eden's biting attitude, finding her amusing.
Personality: Spike, overall, is a very laid back man. This isn’t to say that he doesn’t take anything seriously, though. When the cards are down, he is a stalwart ally who will not rest until those around him are safe, and the danger is past. He merely treats most things as harmless, and enjoys poking fun at his friends, which can make him come off as annoying to most people he meets.
He may not seem very trustworthy when you first meet him, but there are few people you can trust more once you get to know him. He would do near anything for his friends, and it doesn’t take much for him to see a person as worthy of his trust. Even the betrayals in his past haven’t dimmed that spark of trust within him.
He’s a merciful man, the type to let almost any enemy surrender, so long as it has enough intelligence to understand the concept. He believes in second chances for nearly anybody.
Powers:
Magus Training
A magus is a hybrid of a spellcaster and warrior, usually using magic to enhance their favored weapon of choice. Spike uses his learned magical knowledge to add enhancements to his axe, or apply magical effects to himself. One example would be adding an electrical enhancement: For enchanting his weapon, it would activate upon striking with it, making his attack electric based. For enchanting himself, electricity would activate when he himself is attacked, damaging whoever or whatever attacks him.
Spike knows a wide variety of enhancements, but he can only do one at a time. He also has to take a moment to cast in order to enchant himself or his weapon. Casting his enchantments also takes from his own energy, so he can't use it infinitely without rest.
Weapon: Giant Axe
Spike's weapon of choice. It's a large, two handed axe that's about his size.
Weaknesses:
Though Spike is very durable, he can still be worn down or hurt by conventional means. Focusing him down and chipping away at him would eventually catch up to him. Spike also can be a bit reckless, as he would not hesitate to sacrifice himself to protect someone else from a fatal blow.
He also has an obsessive need to always have a potion on hand, and becomes stressed (to the point of major distraction) if he doesn't have one.
History:
Spike had always been a troublemaker. Even when his mother tried her hardest to set him straight, rebellion was in his blood. That wasn't to say he was a bad person - it just seemed that trouble always had a way of finding him. The greatest example was in his own hometown; it was a small, tight knit community, but kept down and exploited by a corrupt man in authority. Spike was the only one willing to fight against him, and it was through his efforts that the man was exposed. The town was freed from his power, but... at the cost of Spike himself becoming a wanted man. So, Spike took to the road.
On his travels, he met Casey Calhoun. They had a rough start, but the two became traveling companions and friends. Together, they survived. They would fight together, steal together, and... well, there were some things Spike had to do that Casey was reluctant to try. Still, their bond was close, and during one campfire chat, the pair decided they would travel to Aster City.
At some point, Spike and Casey helped out another group of vagabonds. Impressed, they asked to continue traveling with them. They would be short lived allies, however; one night Spike overheard their plans to ambush him and Casey, desiring to take their spoils accumulated from their travels. Rather than telling Casey, Spike sent him off on an errand to get him out of harm's way, giving him his wallet and lending him his motorcycle. He would go off to face the vagrants on his own, but not before leaving a message telling Casey the truth - and that he'd meet him again in Aster City.
Spike came out of the fight victorious, but it was another story of whether or not he'd survive the night. Thankfully, someone had other plans for him: a strange old man found him, healing his wounds. The man offered to teach Spike the ways of a Magus - one who blended magic with martial prowess - so long as Spike promised to use what he would learn to protect others. Spike accepted, pointing out that the man was making him promise to simply be himself.
Years would pass, and Spike would eventually find his way to Aster City. Now a bit older and wiser (but not above his old ways), Spike has taken up residence in the Adventurer's Guild to fully make use of the magic he's learned.
Anything else:
- Spike was originally one of Izzack's characters for a tabletop game.
- He always has a potion on him.
- His mother is Mexican, but he has no idea he's half-orc. He has a little fang that hints at this.
- His favorite beer is a fictional brand based off of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" (which Lepa loves and it makes her cry lol)
