All in a days work ( Izzy)

It was a great morning! Alexander had gotten dressed in his work uniform and set out for the day. He said good day to everyone he passed with a smile as he made his way to Pizza palace. He had only been working there for a week now but he was getting along with his new co workers, but had yet to meet the one they all spoke about. A guy named Danial who seemed to only work when he wanted to and pretty much did whatever he wanted and the boss could not really do anything about it. He felt bad for the boss but it was not anything he could help out with.

Coming up to Pizza palace the young man entered and clocked in, "Hello everyone! Lets have another great day." Alexander said with a smile in greeting as he went over to the cash register and set everything up. It was a young lady who was the first to be in line. Alexander smiled giving a small bow. " Hello milady, how may I serve you today." He said. He then took the order and passed it along to the cooks in the back.

Ah, pizza. The mana of heaven, the nectar of the gods, the saucy salvation of the stone broke. Truly the best food in the world, at least, it was from Daniel's perspective. Few foods allowed more creativity, and even fewer were more forgiving. These were the thought's going through Daniel's head as he strolled in through the back entrance of the Pizza Palace, clocking in an hour late, which was a little early for him. He had long since worked out with the owner that he didn't mind having his pay cut. Hell, he didn't mind having more cash taken out of his check than hours he missed. It wasn't about the money, it was about the community. It was about the artistry of pizza crafting. More importantly, it was about the fun atmosphere, and being able to mess with coworkers.

As he donned his apron, and approached his station, a few of those coworkers called out to Daniel. Some were friendlier than others. Of course, some people were too uptight to tolerate him, but that was fine. Daniel didn't mind being hated. Quite the contrary, he found it much easier to make fun of someone who's mind was already made up about him. It wasn't long into his pre-work rituals that he learned of a new guy. Now, that something special. New guy meant a whole new chance to make a first impression. A whole new person who didn't know all of Daniel's dumb tricks and games. A new guy with a clean slate. Obviously, he had to play it cool at first. It wouldn't do to have his first impression immediately put this "Alex" dude on guard.

It was around that time that he heard the new cashier take an order. Milady, huh? Oh, this was gonna be good. "As you decree, sire! Thy pizza shall be crafted forthwith!" he called as the order came through, kicking into cook mode. He took some pride in his ability to make a good pizza, and this one, well, he planned on making real good. After all, this was for a fine lady of repute, and the Pizza Palace would serve nobles with the highest regard!

In short order, the pizza was done, and Daniel himself brought it to the register. "Your pizza, my liege!" he announced, bowing as he proffered the food to Alexander, so that he could give it to the customer.

Alexander's ears perked when a new voice spoke and mimicked the way he spoke. The young paladin did not look to see who it was however as he took more orders and passed then along to the cooks in the back. He did look at his fellow co workers who where in the front with them and judging by their looks it may be Danial. Soo was it his time to meet the infamous Danial? Soon enough the owner of the voice came forward with the pizza the lady had ordered.


"Your pizza, my liege!" he bowed.


Alexander turned to look at the new comer, he smiled gave a small bow in return, "Many thanks M'lord." He replied as he took the pizza from Danial and passed to the woman who had been waiting. "May the Milady enjoy her meal." Alexander said with a smile and once again bowed. The lady smiled and seemed to blush. " Thank you!
I will!" She said as she then squealed happily as she walked away.

Alexander then got right back to work to taking orders not really giving Danial much of a reaction.

Man. This guy was either good, or he didn't hear him, or he just didn't notice Daniel messing with him. No matter the option, Daniel couldn't just ignore that. He just had to get to the bottom of this. "My liege!" he called towards the front, "I must warn you, there is a foul knave who lurks these kitchens! I pray that he does not accost thou, for he is a brute, and a mindless one at that! I've seen him not. Pray tell, have you heard of this 'Daniel'? this self proclaimed 'Big Fellow'?" he asked furtively, eager to see if this man would either notice that someone was messing with him, or hear how one would call another "A bit of a jerk" in ye olde times.

Meanwhile, a few people in back had noticed Daniel's messing around. Those that didn't like Daniel naturally scoffed at his antics, and were summarily waved away by the pint-sized prankster. There were also those that found his little pranks amusing. Of course, there were people who would find anything amusing. Those couple people worked as usual, but seemed to find reasons to remain close.

Daniel busied himself with working on some dough as he waited for a response. The last thing he needed now was for someone to loudly complain and ruin the whole game.

It seemed Danial was not satisfied with his reaction and now seemed to fishing rather he had heard of him or still just trying to get a reaction. Now some may have lied and say " Hmm no" But Alexander was one to never tell a lie it was just against his nature. For as a paladin he was raised to be honest and true, for how could the people he had sworn to protect trust someone who was a liar? So Alexander would play along but in his own way. Not turning to face the speaker the young paladin gave a small smile. " Ahh yes, I have heard of Milord Danial. However I would not call him a foul knave or a brute, but a jester." Alexander replied. Indeed from what he heard the fellow was somewhat amusing and so far he was. Was that meant to be a insult? No but could still be taken that way. Alexander still kept taking orders as this round of banter would begin.

"A jester? A court fool? Nay, I say, nay! Such honors are far above the reach of such a peasant! Daniel quipped, barely managing to catch some dough he tossed into the air. It was at that point that a fellow coworker, one of those that decidedly were not in Daniel's camp, walked up. "Just a head's up, new guy. You don't gotta listen to Daniel if you don't wanna. Hell, some'd say you're better off ignoring him." the cook said, offering only a slightly taunting look to Daniel as he kept walking along.

"Alas!" Daniel called out, a little annoyed that his fun was sabotaged, but making the best of it that he could, "I have been exposed most cruelly! Truly, chivalry has been slain, and we merely play amongst its bones!" he continued, trying to sound as offended as possible.

Alexander gave a smile and chuckled softly, this little game they where playing was amusing indeed. However it seemed another co worker was growing annoyed with the antics.


"Just a head's up, new guy. You don't gotta listen to Daniel if you don't wanna. Hell, some'd say you're better off ignoring him."


Alexander looked at him giving a smile and nodded, " I see, thank you for your kind concern Milord." he said in reply.

It seemed though Danial was none to pleased his little game was ruined. Alexander chuckled again, " Nay, chivalry tis not dead Milord. I did not mind the game we where playing, however it seems others where growing annoyed." Alexander said with a small chuckle. Alexander would continue taking orders for a while till he looked at the time and saw it was time for his break. Alexander then stepped away from the counter as his replacement for the time being took his spot.

Alexander then grabbed his lunch he had brought, he then headed to a empty table in the restaurant sitting down and started to eat.

Man, this guy certainly didn't seem to be phased by much, if anything. He seemed to be calm and collected no matter what Daniel threw at him. Perfect. Daniel had met so few of Alex's type, and when they finally snapped, it was always impressive. Like the finale to a fireworks show. He could only hope this man would be the same.

"Hey, Bubsy, I got the register for now. Get your jabroni feet back to the kitchen and hit up.........order 10." Daniel ordered to the cashier after just waltzing up to him from the back.

"Uh? But I don't know how to c-"

"You got it, champ, don't worry. The 'Za is done, just need to hit it's lovely owner. Don't hit our owner, of course. I'm talking about the customer, got it? Good! Rad! Good luck!" Daniel offered, practically shooing away the confused kid. With that, he had the register to himself. All that was left to do was wait for his era-lost new friend to return.

Alexander happily ate his meal when some ladies walked up to him. " Oh my ghosh! You are the knight from that hero team... Ummm umm the Guardians right?? Can we please take a photo with you??" one asked her eyes wide with excitement. Alexander blinked a few times as he looked at the ladies before him but smiled. " It would be my pleasure Milady's." Alexander said as he stood up and happily let the women take photo's while standing next to him. Once they where done Alexander wished them a good day and went back to finishing his meal. When he finished he went back into the back putting his lunch box away he headed back to his register only to pause for a moment when he saw Danial was now at the register next to his. Alexander raised a eye brow but then shrugged it off as he approached. "My good sir, I am back. Thank you for covering for me." Alexander said as he then took over his spot again and waited for more orders to come.

Daniel hadn't quite heard what the girls had said, but he very intently watched as the new guy got himself into a little photo op. It would seem that the little LARPing lad led a less lonely life than likely...known. Daniel cursed himself silently, swearing that he'd do a better job alliterating next time.

"Ah, welcome back, m'lord." Daniel offered an exaggerated bow as Alexander returned. "My apologies, of course, but I couldn't help but notice the attention from yonder fair maidens. I had not known you were so popular with the good women of out establishment!" he continued, wiggling his eyebrows wildly as he spoke.

Alexander looked over at Daniel giving smile. " The ladies just wanted some photo's It would have been rude to say no. " Alexander replied as if was no real big deal to him. It happened a lot though, in fact Amara kept telling him he could just tell them to buzz off but... If it made them happy how could he say no? He liked to see happy smiling faces.

Soon however Alexander would see a someone that always brought a smile to his face. Sarah, good friend and leader of the Guardians.


"Hello Alex, how are you?" She asked as she walked up to the counter with a smile.

Alex smiled in return.

"I am well my Queen, how are you fairing?" He asked.

" I'm ok, happy school is over for the day. I am craving pizza though. I will take my usual." She said.

Alexander nodded as he did up the order and set it to the cooks in the back.

"The pizza will be ready soon my Queen and here is your soda." He said as he got the drink and placed it on the counter.

Sarah smiled as she handed over the money, then took her drink and headed over to a table. She then took out some homework and started to work on it as she waited for her pizza.

Alex smiled as he watched Sarah leave and sit down then went back to taking orders from other customers.
