Barret is pretty much a level headed person who just focuses on trying to get through the day as a pizza deliverer though his gruff appearance makes people feel weary or intimidated by him so if they are going to be scared of him he will act like he's a angry man and he's good at it though he tends to melt when he's around kids and even lets them hang and swing on his big strong arms when ever he visits the park. However if he sees anyone being attacked in any sort of way while he's making pizza deliveries he won't care if intervening makes him late he will stop and beat those attackers up after calling the police about the attack and if he's able to knock the attackers down he will simply sit on them until the police arrive, answer their questions then leave to finish his delivery..even though he knows he will be late and be chewed out by his boss later though he always just ignores his own boss while pretending he's listening.
History:
This man's mother left him in the orphanage when he was just a baby and totally abandoned him so no one knows who his mother or father really are and no one even knows if he had any siblings but to make it worse no one really knows why she abandoned him the way she did, perhaps she couldn't afford to take care of him? that is a possibility but highly uncertain since she literally put him in a basket and left him in front of the orphanage during a rainy day and no one has been able to find the woman so it's suspected that she left the city but why leave her kid behind? he didn't have any powers and they even did a lot tests on the poor child and came up negative.
So the Orphanage was forced to take care of him and no one wanted to adopt him because he never smiled and always so tense around the other kids and he was known for getting into fights with the other kids in the orphanage but when they asked who started the fights he'd always take the blame even if he didn't start the fight but what made it worse for him was he sent some of the kids to the hospital and again he'd take the blame thus every kid around him got adopted but him but he never seemed to care because he always thought his mom would come back to get him one day but she never did.
Eventually one of the bullies in the Orphanage said something terrible..the boy said to him "you do know your mother is never coming back to get you right? you may as well just give up now you little punk, I doubt she even loved you" now that set Barret off the deep end and he beat the living life out of that boy and no one could pull him off, not even the staff. It took them a while but by the time they were finally able to pull Barret off the boy it was too late. The boy was on the floor beaten to bloody pulp and quite literally.
They rushed the child to the hospital as fast as they could but they were too late the child had died in the ambulance and the autopsy said he died of skull fractures, rib bone puncturing the lungs and sever trauma to the child's brain not to mention the kid's arms and legs were all broken. They knew all to well that Barret would NEVER EVER try to kill someone like this so they knew that now dead child had to of said something to throw Barret off the deep end and so they asked what had happened but with all the guilt he felt about killing that boy kept him from saying the truth. He took the full blame and said "it was my fault, he wouldn't let me play with his toy so I attacked him" Barret always did have a talent for a acting though the human eyes never lie because if that were the case Barret wouldn't of been crying that day but he was.
He had tears in his eyes and it was obvious that he was trying his best to hold them back. Clearly he wanted to punish himself for doing a terrible wrong and the care taker begged him to tell the truth or she wouldn't of been able to help him but he refused and repeated why he did it but this time with no tears in his eyes so they had no choice but to kick him out of the Orphanage so now he lived on the streets where he had to fight and steal to survive and he did survive so when he became eleven years old he was found by a man who was recruiting people for the underground fights. That man had heard what happened in the orphanage so he went looking for the boy and finally found him giving the beat down to a group of punks that were trying to mug a innocent woman trying to go home with a bag of groceries to feed her children and there was no way Barret was going to let low lives get in the way of that.
That display impressed the recruiter so once those thugs had run away licking their wounds and he escorted the woman to her house the Recruiter approached poor Barret who seemed to be cut up and bruised from his life on the street and asked if he wanted to get payed to beat people up and that he'd have a house of his own and everything. This sounded pleasing to Barret so he agreed to fight for him but had no idea what he was getting himself into until he got there.
Now Barret wasn't dumb, he knew these kinds of people if you agree to do something you can't back out so easily so he decided to play it smart and do the fights for a while and he didn't seem to care who he fought but he did care to study all his opponents so he had plan to beat them and he trained for twenty three hours a day long until he had to go into the ring and fight but of course his next opponent was Zeke and their fight was intense as they traded blows and none of them held back while the crowed cheered for both of the fighters and by the time the first round ended both fighters were pretty badly beat up and scratched cut all over and not to mention exhausted however the two made eye contact with each other and showed a sign of respect to each other before it was the next round and they went at again.
The way the crowd was going wild it felt like this fight was making history and it probably was by how hard these two were fighting and not relenting a inch but someone had to give in and to everyone's surprise it was Crusher who gave in as Iron Fist did a strong blow to the face, however Barret didn't want to kill Zeke so at he last second he adjusted the strength of his punch just enough to knock out Zeke and once the fight was over both was taken to Doctor Willow to patch them both up and by golly that she had quite the mess to deal with but thankfully she was able to fix them up but poor Barret got a lot of new scars from that fight but that wasn't going to be the last fight he had about five more matches and the fifth one was the championship but first he had to pay Doctor Willow for her services but thankfully that fight he won gave him a lot of money, just enough to pay her price but even so he personally felt he owed Doctor Willow dept so he told her if she needed anything just let him know and he wouldn't take no for a answer.
It was then he became friends with Evangeline and rivals slash friends with Zeke and the two became sparring partners ever since. So with Zeke's help he was able to better prepare himself for his fights and thanks to his careful studies of all his opponents he was able to outsmart and out wit his opponents especially the ones that had super powers. He really had to think out of the box against them since he didn't have powers of his own and he was successful but not without being injured himself and adding more battle scars to his body. At this rate he may as well lived in Evangeline's clinic but thankfully he has been able to pay for her services but dang did she get pricey!
Thankfully though after being allowed a couple years of vacation to allow his body to recover for the championship match which he spent most of his vacation training for and studying his opponent and this opponent actually equipped metal claws for his weapons which made Barret a little worried since he isn't invulnerable so he knew if he messed up just a little bit there would be a chance he'd be dead and that was when he decided to quite fighting after that match and so days passed and it was time for the big fight and the crowd was whole lot bigger than normal then he noticed a whole lot of people bet on Barret to win which didn't help the pressure..he was nervous enough about dying as it is!
There wasn't time to worry about that now as the bell rang and the opponent quickly equipped his claws and Barret unhooked his chains from his belt and wrapped them around his knuckles, ready for a intense fight as they began and it started out bad from the beginning as this claw wielding jerk had Barret on the defense, dodging and weaving those claws, trying to avoid being cut but unfortunately no such luck he got cut several times and even got his chest cut as well but thankfully it wasn't a deep cut but if he survived this that would be a pretty big scar on his chest so Barret thought fast and looked at the steel cage around him and thought of a plan so when he got close to the cage walls he waited for the right moment as his opponent thought he had Barret where he wanted him so he charged, ready to stab him with both claws but Barret side stepped thus making his opponent hit the cage instead and broke his claws. Finally the tables were turned and before the dude could recover Barret slammed that guy's face against the cage wall several times before pulling him away from it only to knee the dude in the gut as hard as he could before slamming his fist into his face.
This dazed the opponent caused him to stagger back but Barret didn't relent he threw a fury of punches each one hitting it's target as the opponent looked like nothing but a punching bag at this point and all it took was his finishing punch that sent the man flying against the cage wall before falling down on his rear and his back against the ag wall completely out cold and the bell rang thus Barret had won and he was given the belt and once he was payed he went back to Evangeline to let her fix him up this one last time and he even gave her all his winnings and didn't care if that made him poor again. The girl deserved every bit of that money for the crud she had to deal with. That was when he retired from Underground fighting and Evangeline was nice enough to give him give back just enough of his winnings for him to buy a house of his own in Aster City and get on his feet but of course he protested because wanted her to have that money but she didn't take no for a answer so he ended up taking the money and buying himself a home and barely managed to get a job as a pizza deliverer though his boss has been treating him like dirt because of his background but Barret has always simply ignored him especially when the moments his boss tries to get a rise out of him only to get frustrated when he fails.
