Paper fury (Lepa)

[Lepa]

Terry couldn't help but smirk when the others spoke up. His older brother Quattuor had warned him about getting in trouble with the police before, and as much as he'd like to defy Quat, he found himself holding his tongue from the officer in front of them. The worst part, his brother had reasoned, was the long process one had to go through when dealing with them. So much paperwork, so much waiting; all sorts of stuff that sounded so boring that Terry was sure he'd die from it.

So when Kai stood up for Anna, he felt a small rush of excitement. "Yeah, buddy!" He grinned. "Didn't think an officer would be out here condoning crime," he snickered.

The officer just sighed, maintaining his professionalism. Just another day on the job, he supposed. Another day, another case, another reminder of why he and his comrades were regulated to cleanup duty. It's not that he wanted to be in constant danger, but it did irk him how some of these types liked to lord their superiority over normal folk like him. They were just kids, he reasoned to himself... They wouldn't understand the job. A lot of people didn't. Maybe he should start seeing a therapist or something...

When Taylor came flying in, the officer internally rolled his eyes and took it as his cue to leave. He wasn't about to start dealing with more of them... Deciding that the other officers needed his help, he muttered a goodbye relatively unnoticed and entered the store.

Terry blinked at the new kid who descended from the sky. "Damn. Did word get around that quick?" He folded his arms again with another grin. He paused. "...Wait, do I know you from somewhere?"

Anna was so happy to see Taylor, if only he had been here from the start.. Should she tell him? That she had powers now and that it was not a ghost after all? Yeah she should.. He had looked so sad for a while after he had brought two different people to deal with the ghost. But before she could Terry asked Taylor a question.

Taylor blinked at Terry's question, though the young teen was sure he had never seen Terry before. But he did look the same age as he was.. So perhaps he went to Aster high? "Ummm Well if you go to Aster high then perhaps we have passed each other?" Taylor offered.


Kai was now finding himself unbale to stand much longer and let go of Terry as he slowly slumped to his knees hugging himself. "Oww this hurts so bad.." Kai thought to himself. Could have been way worse if not for Anna though.

"Ummm Well if you go to Aster high then perhaps we have passed each other?"

Terry clasped at his chin in thought. "Oh, yeah... Then... maaaaaybe?" He tilted his head, animal ears twitching. He was about to start rattling off classes when Kai suddenly let go of him. His eyes quickly widened. "Oh, shoot...!" He dropped to one knee, putting a hand on Kai's back "Dude, you need a doctor or somethin'?!" Terry clenched a fist. "Damn, how hard did that guy kick...?" He grumbled, looking to Anna. "At least you got 'em good for that, right?"

When Kai went down Anna also knelt down to help steady him, she then started to fight back tears. "K-Kai..." She said in a worried tone, ahhh what where they gonna do? When Terry spoke and made a mention she made the guy pay, Anna tensed up as she side glanced at Taylor.


Taylor's eyes grew wide when Kai went down, aww man had he been hurt?? He had been to focused on Anna to notice till now. Taylor nodded when Terry asked if he needed a doctor, " Yeah looks like he should go to the hospital.. Wait what?" Taylor said when Terry said that Anna got back at the guy who did this. He looked at Anna who seemed reluctant to look at him.


Aww Terry why?? Anna thought to herself as she now readied herself to tell Taylor the news. "I uhhh... heh... You know when I thought a ghost was tossing papers around my room?" Anna started.

Taylor nodded waiting for Anna to continue. " Well umm... It turns out.. It was me.. I... I was moving the papers. I... Kinda took down the goons that tried to rob the store..." Anna said as she rubbed the back of her neck.

Taylor stood there stunned, unsure how to respond to this news.. This whole time he thought he was the cause! It was a relief, but at the same time now he a whole new bunch of worries!

Taylor then forced himself to calm down and focus. " Anna, we can talk about it later right now we have to take Kai to see a doctor and call his parents." Taylor looked around and saw a ambulance. He then ran over to them and told them about Kai. And soon the paramedics came over with a stretcher, they helped Kai ley down on it and took him back to the ambulance to better check his injury's.

Taylor then stepped to the side taking out his cellphone and called Kai's parents to tell them what happened.

"Well umm... It turns out.. It was me.. I... I was moving the papers. I... Kinda took down the goons that tried to rob the store..."

"Dude, it was awesome!" Terry managed to interject. "It was like, "oh crap is that the wind?" and then-" He followed up making a few sound effects, chopping at the air with one hand trying to imitate Anna's papers. "And they were like "oh god what's happening?!" and it was awesome~!" He clenched a fist again in excitement. "One of them sliced a gun in half...!" His excitement was cut short, however.

"Anna, we can talk about it later right now we have to take Kai to see a doctor and call his parents."

Oh, shoot! Right!

Once Kai was loaded up into the ambulance, Terry found himself awkwardly standing around again while Taylor stepped aside on his phone. "Uhhh..." He tried to conceal this uncertainty by raising his arms up and stretching his back, before placing both hands behind his head. "...Er, so... pretty crazy, huh?" He tried to smile. Clearly Anna wasn't as enthused about jumping into action as much as he was, but he figured making light of the whole thing would help ease her nerves some. "You got some cool powers and saved a bunch of people!" He threw his hands up in the air in emphasis. "We should fight crime together!" He clenched both his hands into fists, then realized: wait, no, she probably didn't want to do that at all. "...Eheheh. Just kidding." Whew, saved it. "But really, it was pretty cool."

Anna watched as Kai was taken away and rubbed her arm when Taylor said they where going to have a talk later.. Maaaan just finding out she had powers and she has already been scolded, and now Taylor wanted to talk.. This day was not going as planned at all.. All she wanted was to eat junk food and play video games all day.. She was startled out of her thoughts when Terry started talking, she watched as he played out the events that had happened the store as if it was the most awesomest thing he had ever seen. Anna could not help but smile a little. Though she blinked when Terry joked about fighting crime with him. Her a hero? Anna stole a glance at Taylor who was still on his phone before looking back at Terry.

It was a good feeling she had been able to help.. Even though that officer scolded her, she wondered if Taylor dealt with that a lot. But he still helped people even if it scared him..


Perhaps.. If she got stronger she could help Taylor someday? She then looked at Terry with a smile. " Ok, sure." She replied.

"Wh-... really?"

Terry hadn't expected that. His eyes lit up in excitement. "Yes! Awesome!" He fist pumped the air. "It's been so hard to find someone who's wanted to hang out and fight things!" If he had a tail, it'd be wagging for sure. "Oh, man...! Like, I could go at it on my own, but two people definitely makes things easier!" He grinned, then looked to Taylor. "...What about him? I'm guessing he's... your bro?" His ears twitched curiously. "And he can... fly? Shoot, three would make it a party... Unless I'm pushing my luck here, hehe."

Anna's eyes grew wide because how loud Terry was being. She was quick to cover his mouth with her hand and hush him as she started to push him away from everyone. "Not so loud!" Anna hissed as she removed her hand from Terry's mouth. "Yes, he is my older brother and he is already part of a hero team.. The Guardians.. And his power is wind." she said. Anna looked back at everyone and it seemed like no one heard what Terry said.


Taylor soon was finished talking to Kai's parents, he hung up and saw that Anna and Terry where speaking so he decided to stay with Kai till his parents showed up.



Anna watched as Taylor walked away and gave a sigh of relief, as she looked back at Terry. " So do you have a place we can meet up and ummm practice?" Anna asked. Before she could even think about fighting she needed to practice with her powers first.

Terry didn't mind being shushed. He was startled at first but he found it amusing soon after.

"Dang, he's already part of a team?" He let out a small, impressed whistle. "Man, this place is so cool..." He mused, starry eyed. He'd only moved to Aster City recently, but everything was so exciting! Even almost getting shot at!

"So do you have a place we can meet up and ummm practice?"

"...Ah!" He snapped out of his little daydream. "Practice, huh..." Terry hummed to himself, rubbing at his chin. "Hmm... my brother has a training room kind of thing he uses, but..." Terry shrugged. "He doesn't allow me in there. Says it's too dangerous, so I sneak in when he's not looking," He chuckled to himself. "I don't think two of us could sneak in, though. Plus, you're new at this, so it probably would be dangerous..." He sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "I guess if you wanna keep this more secret, maybe we'd have to go somewhere more remote..." He tilted his head. "...Oh! Maybe the forest?" He grinned. "We could meet at the edge. It's just far enough away from most people, but close enough to the city that you won't see that many wild animals. _{...Not that I'm afraid of them or anything. I could punch out a bear if I had to.}" He quickly cleared his throat. "But, yeah! That sound good?"

Anna waited as Terry seemed to think about where they could practice, he then suggested the forest. Anna gave a thoughtful look as she thought about it. Yeah it was a remote area.. Depending on where in the forest they picked.. As long as it was not near the lake, lots of people went to that lake Taylor included when he needed to get away from the city for a few hours. "Yeah that could work.. Just gotta stay away from the lake though people like to visit it and my brother is one of them." Anna cautioned Terry.


Soon a new car arrived and Kai's parents came out and rushed over to their son, they then spoke to the paramedics. Anna looked back over worried for Kai, she did not care what the officer said.. She was happy that she stopped the thug from beating more on Kai. Happy she had been able to save everyone in the store.. Even though she had been terrified and not knowing what in the world she had been doing. She was still a little scared but.. She now wanted to get stronger and Terry's help she would be able to.

Terry nodded. "Yeah, no problem...!" He flashed another thumbs up. "I think I might know a good spot or two away from there..." He mused. "I visit it a lot, so I know my way around!" He grinned again. His excitement was cut short by a small jingle going off in his bag. Terry's ears flattened in annoyance.

"Agh... Sorry," He apologized quickly. "That's probably my brother freaking out about nothing," he shrugged, despite the events of today being clearly anything but. "Like, there's no way he already knows about what happened!" He laughed, plucking his phone out from his bag. As soon as he answered the call, the voice on the other end immediately began to speak.

"Terry!" The voice exclaimed. "Are you oka-"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine~!" He practically sang, cutting the voice off. "Just making plans!"

"Wh-...? What kind of plans?" He asked in return.

"Whoops, sorry! Can't... kshh... hear you... kshh..." Terry started to mimic white noise. "Going through... kshhh... tunnel..."

"T-Terry!" The voice grew flustered. "I know that's not true!"

"Hehehe," Terry snickered. "Stop worrying! I'll see you later!" He laughed again, then hung up. "Sorry 'bout that. My brother's always hovering over my business." He shrugged nonchalantly. "I should probably get back before he actually finds out about what happened, eheh..." He scratched at the back of his head, then snapped a finger as he remembered the topic at hand. "So! How about next weekend? Maybe after lunch?" He grinned again. "Doesn't matter what day: I'll be there no matter which one!"

Anna was lost in her thoughts only to be brought back out of them when Terry's phone went off. She blinked as Terry explained it was his older brother and then went on to rail road him a bit by not telling him what had happened. Sheesh he sounded worse then Taylor.. Her Brother could be over protective too.. She just hoped he would not get worse now that she had powers of her own.


Terry soon finished talking to his brother and hug up, and started to ask what day on the weekend would be best to meet up. "How about sunday?" Anna suggested.

[Lepa]

"Aww yeah!" Terry pumped his fist. "Yeah! That sounds good!" His ears twitched in excitement. If he wasn't out trying to find danger, he only had robots and holograms to practice on, and that got old quick. But now? Oooh, he'd finally have an actual training partner! Not one of those fake things whose moves you could predict after several sessions, but an actual living person! "Hehe! I'm lookin' forward to it!" He laughed. "Anyway, I gotta get going! See ya then, Anna!" Terry snapped his fingers into a quick wave before running off. He couldn't wait!

Anna nodded as Terry agreed on the day and took off, "Bye Terry! See you later." Anna called out to him. She then ran over to where Kai was and his parents still talking to the paramedics. Ooh Kai... He looked like he was in so much pain.. Anna started to tear up a bit, Taylor noticed this and put his arms around her pulling her into a hug.
"Its ok Anna.. They are going to take him to the hosptal to check him out. His parents offered to drive us over there. Wanna come?" Taylor asked. Anna nodded but kept silent as she felt like she was going to cry again.


Taylor then lead his sister to Kai's parents car and got inside. When Kai's parents where finished speaking they returned to the car and followed behind the ambulance to the hospital.
