It had been a month since the paper flying around incident, and nothing has happened since then so Anna felt like the ghost had been taken care of! Though Taylor has not been able to look her in eye since then ether.. Its like he thinks he failed her even though he was the biggest help. But once he gets that way there is not much she can do.. BUT Now was not the time to think about that! Today she was going to spend the day with her best friend Kai, playing video games and eating junk food! Anna had been getting herself ready when she heard a knock on the door. The young girl smiled as she dashed to the front door. opening it to find Kai standing there. He gave a smile and waved, "Heeey ready to go get the stuff?" He asked. Anna smiled and nodded, " YES!! Mom, Dad! I'm heading out with Kai be back soon!" She called out and then left the house closing the door behind her.
Anna just loved weekends, she normally finished her homework first thing so she could spend the two days off from school doing whatever she wanted. Kai and Anna did some small talk and also going over their plans for the weekend as they walked. Soon they came to a store and went inside. Both of them started looking for snacks,drinks and other things they wanted. Once they had a kart full they headed to the front of the store to pay. The line was a bit long so it was going to be a few minute wait. "Maaaan such long line! No fair!" Anna groaned in annoyance. Kai just sighed and shrugged, "Not much we can do about it.." He said with a sigh.
However things where about to take a turn.. four masked gunmen entered the store and one of them pointed to the floor and let off a shot to get everyone's attention. Both Anna and Kai jumped at the sound of the gun shot and looked over at where it came from. Both of them froze in fear at the sight. " Everyone on the floor now!" One of the gunmen ordered. Everyone did as they where told, tears started to form in Anna's eyes. Kai who was just as scared tried to be brave for Anna. He reached over grabbing her hand trying to keep her calm. "Anna everythi- AHHHH!"" Kai started to say when he suddenly cried out in pain. One of the gunmen had kicked him. " Did I say you could talk punk huh? Trying to look tough for your little lady friend huh?" he said as he kicked Kai again and again, it seemed he was doing mostly just for fun. Anna stared in horror as her best friend was being attacked.
"No.. Please... no..." Anna said in a whisper of fear at first, but anger also started to swell up with in her. " NO LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!" Anna screamed at the top of her lungs. Suddenly any paper in the shop suddenly came to life it seemed. The papers flew at the gunmen who was attacking Kai. The gunmen then screamed out in pain as the paper started to cut him, covering his body in paper cuts. Same with the other gunmen too. At this point no one really knew what was going on.

It wasn't like most people to get excited about a robbery.
Terry was not most people.
He'd been one of the folks in the store, casually browsing when he heard the gunshot. He'd admittedly jumped at the noise (which wasn't very cool) and he was quick to obey instructions like everyone else. This also wasn't very cool, but Terry knew the limits and boundaries of messing with danger. It was just a matter of knowing when to take your turn. If you misstepped at the beginning, then you'd be dead long before you'd even get to the good part!
That's why being on the ground was definitely a tactical decision. He wasn't scared or anything.
He slowly dared to glance up, hiding his gaze beneath his headband. He hoped to get a good look at the dumb clowns that decided to ruin everyone's day, and it looked like... Ski masks and hoodies? Ah, the classic look! He laughed internally. As he mentally made light of the potential threat on his life, the adrenaline born of fear quickly morphed into excitement. Oh, he was absolutely going to give them a beatdown! ...Unless they had guns. Which unfortunately, they did. Psh! Typical. That wouldn't stop him, though; he'd still find a way to punch them. He just needed to disarm them!
But... how? Just how could he do that from down here? He couldn't really count on someone else to help, but...
Man, he thought to himself. I can't be the only one with powers or magic or cool tech in here... right?
And then, on cue, it happened.
Distracted by his own musings, he'd only caught the tail end of one of those clowns talking trash before the scream of a girl plagued his ears. All of the store's paper materials then suddenly sprang to life, whirling about like a swarm of startled bats, and Terry found himself trying to duck lower than he already was. It took a moment of listening to screams for him to realize that they only came from the gunmen. He peeked up to confirm this and squinted, further realizing that those clowns had been suffering from an onslaught of cuts. Terry winced. He didn't want to piss off whatever was the cause of that.
Still, this was his chance to strike, even if things were admittedly more terrifying than before! Nevermind disarming them, he thought as he pushed himself to his feet. They're distracted enough...! Though his legs wobbled, ever wary of the deadly flying recyclables, he firmly planted his feet down to stop his shaking. He grabbed his shoulder with one hand, steadying it while he wound his arm windmill style. As he spun his arm faster and gained energy, a distinct but colorless glow began to build in his clenched fist.
"Hey, bozos!" he taunted, nearing the end of his charge. "Looks like you're not cut out for this!" Terry couldn't help but smirk. Aw yeah, nailed it. "Now how about one of... these?!" With a final mighty swing, he punched. The built up momentum snapped all of the energy forward, launching a projectile aimed straight at the closest goon.

Anna was stunned at what was happening, flying papers everywhere! How was this happening!? It was like... The paper reacted to her scream and started to attack the thugs. No.. No it can't be can it? She was soon snapped out her thoughts however when someone started to taunt the masked goons. She watched as he let off a attack on one of them. "What the F*** is goi- Oh SH$^T!!" The goon cried out as he was hit with a projectile and sent flying into wall.
The leader of the group saw that, he glared at Terry, was this little brat doing all this?? Time to put him down! wincing through the pain of all the paper cuts he was getting he raised his arm to aim his gun at Terry. Anna looked up at the masked man before her and saw what he was about to do. "No!" She cried out as she had thoughts of disarming the guy. As soon as she thought that one of the papers went flat and seemed to become harder and sharper, it flew at the gunmen cutting right through the gun. " What the hell??" the goon said angerly as he then looked down at Anna. "YOU!" He growled as he then moved to hit her. Anna's eyes grew wide wishing she had a shield or something to protect her. Suddenly papers formed a paper wall in front of Anna. the papers hardened so when the gunmen ended up punching the paper wall he cried out in pain as he hurt his hand.
Anna stared at the paper wall that had protected her, "No.. No way..." Anna said in a panicked voice. Mean while poor Kai was curled up in a ball trying to protect himself, he was looking after at Anna when the guy who had kicked him was about to go after her. But before he could even say anything he watched as a wall of papers protected Anna. "What?" Kai thought to himself, was Anna the one making these papers fly around? He then remembered back when Anna was saying there had been papers being tossed around her room at night.. Perhaps it was not a ghost after all.

"Aw yeah!" Terry couldn't help but smirk. "POW! Right in the kisser! He punched his own palm for emphasis, pleased his attack was a clean hit. "Heehee!" He snickered, his mouth curling into a cheeky grin. Of course, that didn't last long. Despite the paper onslaught, one of the goons had aimed his gun's barrel at him, and Terry's pride quickly collapsed into alarm.
"...W-Well, that's not good!" He stuttered to himself with a forced smile, trying to play off his fear. He glanced left and right, looking to dive for cover, until he heard the man cry out again. Terry stole another glimpse of the clown, brows raising as he realized the gun had been sliced in two. "Ohhhhohoho snap!" He couldn't help but laugh, which only continued when the goon hurt his hand. "Pffhahaha! Oh, man...!" He rubbed at his eye, trying to contain himself. "C'mon, bozo!" He grinned again, clenching his fist and charging forward while he was distracted. "Don't you know paper... beats... rock?!" Terry threw another punch on the last word for emphasis, his glowing fist hitting the man squarely in the gut. The extra energy that lined his punch created enough force to all but throw the man back, knocking over his comrades in the process. Terry figured it'd definitely take more than a second for them to collect their bearings.
In the moment of reprieve, he looked aside to the girl that had been controlling the papers, or at least he assumed so from the shield that'd formed earlier. "Ayo! I'm guessin' you're the page wizard here?" He flashed a grin and snapped his fingers into a thumbs up. "Thanks for the help! I'm a big fan of, uh... not getting shot by guns!" He snerked, breaking his carefree demeanor to chuckle at his awful phrasing.

The gunmen did not even see the attack coming, Terry's bunch landed also sending him flying. Anna jumped when Terry spoke to her, tears where now forming in her eyes. She was scared! She had no idea what she was doing, Kai was hurt the bad guys where still here... If.. If only Taylor was here! If only she asked him to come with them! Anna started to tremble as the tears where now running down her cheeks. "I'm so scared.. I.. I don't know what I'm doing!" She said through her sobs.
The gunmen who had been blasted started to regroup, They where not going to get bested by two shrimps! " Get em!!" The leader ordered and all four of the thugs went for the attack. Anna turned her head to look and gasped. "NO STAY AWAY!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Suddenly the papers started to slam into the thugs pushing them all into a wall and holding them there. " WHat the f***!!!" One said as he struggled but unable to move thanks to being pinned.

"I'm so scared.. I.. I don't know what I'm doing!"
Terry nearly squeaked in response. "Ah." He froze, a goofy look of surprise plastered on his face. It was almost comical, really. Staring down the barrel end of a gun? Terry could (mostly) deal with it. A scared, crying girl? Not so much. His energetic bravado fell away into visible hesitation as he rubbed the back of his neck, uncertain of what to do. This was more of his brother's thing, he thought. He was better at dealing emotional stuff than him!
"...Wait!" Terry perked up, ears standing tall in realization. He held his hands in a "stop" motion. "Wait, wait, wait! Y-You don't mean..." He curled a hand into a fist, half pointing with an incredulous finger. "This is the first time that...?"
In another instant, the gunmen had come to. The girl had shrieked again and the next thing Terry knew, the bozo brigade was plastered against the wall like stamps on an envelope. Terry stood in silence, mostly impressed (and mildly terrified) as he blinked wordlessly at her handiwork. He then glanced over his shoulder as he motioned to the trapped gunmen. "Uhh... hey, so... I think now would... proooobably be a good time to call the cops?" He shrugged, addressing the others present but speaking to no one person in particular. His tone was once again lighthearted and jovial, but it at least served to snap the normal folk out of their scared stupor, spurring them to take the rest from here.
Terry then turned back to the girl. "Uhhh, so..." He fumbled about for words. "Er... there... there? It's, uh, okay now?" He tentatively offered as comfort, but he hated how unsure he sounded. It was just... this wasn't really his thing, and he didn't want to say something wrong and make matters worse. Biting his lip, he glanced about, hoping he could get help from someone. He then made eye contact with Kai and thought: wasn't he in line with her? But Terry wasn't entirely sure...

Anna stared at the gunmen now stuck to the wall, she... Really was somehow controlling the papers! Color started to drain from her face.. She.. She really did have powers!? When Terry spoke to her again Anna jumped again as her body trembled. She looked at Terry, everyone in the store and then at Kai. She looked at him with the most terrified expression. She then ran. Was Kai going to hate her now? Just like Brandon had left Taylor after he had used his powers for the first time? However Anna did not make it too far, she ran out of the store but ended up collapsing to her knees in the parking lot. Her legs where to wobbly form fear and gave out on her. She covered her face with her hands as she cried, "Is everyone going to hate me now?" She asked, she mostly only had Taylor to compare to. Everyone seemed to come down on him because of his powers.. Would they all do the same to her?
Kai noticed Terry looking at him he then looked back at Anna as she cried and looked at him with the most terrified expression he had ever seen from her. " A-Anna.. No wait Anna!" He called out as she suddenly ran off. Kai started to get up. " AH! Owwww...." Kai said as he winced in pain. That gunmen had kicked him so hard! " You creeps, I hope you get what's coming to you!" He said giving them a angry look as he did his best to stand up despite the pain he was in. He then started to take off only to wince again and fall to one knee and hugged himself. " Dang it... Oww..." He said as he started to stand back up again.

Terry stretched a hand out at the girl's retreating form, his mouth halfway open to say something, but nothing came out. He didn't move from his spot, either. All he could do was drop his arms and hang his head with a sigh. He hoped that wasn't his fault. It was always a fun time whenever he'd met someone else with heightened abilities, and he thought that maybe he'd be in the running to make a new friend. The story of how they met would've been a cool story on its own, but... well, things were never that easy, huh?
Straightening himself up, Terry ran a hand over his head and let out another puff of air, looking over to Kai again. He'd called out to the girl - Anna, her name was. So, they did know each other...
"Uh... hey, man," Terry had walked over, offering a hand to help Kai up. "You... okay, dude?" He'd positioned himself in a way that offered to help carry one of Kai's arms over his shoulder. Again, it felt strange to Terry to be serious and straightforward like this, but that Anna girl crying felt way worse. He figured maybe her friend could talk to her, and the least Terry could do was help him. "And, uhh... was that... new?" He asked tentatively and vaguely, referring to Anna's powers.

Kai looked up when Terry offered a hand, he nodded giving a weak smile as he took the offered hand. "Thanks, ah oww..." He winced as he stood up but thanks to putting his arm over shoulders he was able to stand. "No, that creep kicked me hard a few times... Just for talking to Anna.. I was just trying to keep her calm... Ugh creep..." Kai grumbled. When Terry asked if this was new it took him a few seconds to realize he was asking about Anna. He shook his head, " Yeah she has never done that before.. Well.. There was a time a month ago she talked about how papers in her room would get thrown around at night.. She thought it was a ghost.. " Kai said with a sigh.
With Terry's help it did not take long to get to the exit and the two boys would see Anna crying in the parking lot. "Anna! What's wrong?" Kai called out to her.
Anna tensed up a bit, she did not look back at them however. It was like she was to scared to look back at Kai, and did not reply ether,
Kai frowned a bit. " Anna come on talk to me, we're best friends aren't we? " he asked.
Anna perked up a bit when Kai said that but still did not turn around. "Y..You don't hate me? For... For having powers?" She asked in a meek tone.
Kai was stunned she even asked that. " Wha?? W-why would I hate you? You saved me from that creep! You helped save everyone! Its amazing what you did!" he said.
Anna then stood up and turned to look at Kai and Terry, "R-really?" She said through her tears.
Kai nodded, "Yes really!" Kai said with a smile.

Huh... so it was new, he thought.
Once in the parking lot, all he could really do was stand aside awkwardly while the friends had their heart to heart. Terry didn't really want to intrude or anything, but he did find himself thinking about Anna's predicament. Why would she be upset? Powers were awesome! After all, as far as he knew, he was born with his powers. Even as a small child, when he couldn't manifest the energy of the crystal shard that shared his life essence, he could always feel it within him. It was always just a normal part of life for him.
And then Terry realized that was why. To live all one's life without powers, and then to one day suddenly have them thrust upon you...? Well... he personally couldn't imagine it, but he could understand it.
"Wha?? W-why would I hate you? You saved me from that creep! You helped save everyone! Its amazing what you did!"
"R-really?"
"Yes really!"
"Er, yeah," Terry tried to chime in. He still felt terribly out of place, but at least it was something he could agree on. "I've been at it for a while, but..." He scratched as his cheek sheepishly. "I still haven't exactly, uh... figured out how to punch bullets." He looked aside as two police cars pulled into the lot, watching the officers check the perimeter and make their way into the store. He kept his gaze on them for a moment longer before awkwardly turning back to the two. "Um. My name's Terry," he offered, then looked aside again, bashfully rubbing at his neck. "And, uh. Thanks again for helping me."

Pure relief flooded through Anna when Kai said he did not hate her, she was a dummy to doubt her best friend.. Anna smiled as she was now trying to calm herself down. When Terry spoke up Anna looked at him. She blushed when he thanked her for helping him when that goon had a gun pointed at him. "Y-your welcome! I.. I was just reacting.. I.. I had no idea what I was doing.." Anna said in a bashful tone. This would be the first time she had ever done anything like this ever.. How does Taylor do this all the time? It was so scary! But this.. Just made her respect and admire her older bother even more. Anna then took notice of the cops and became nervous.. Where they gonna yell at her? She then quickly walked over to Kai and Terry and kinda hid behind them looking down at the ground. Kai gave concerned look but was unsure what to say.

Aw no, don't stammer, he thought. It was gonna make him nervous, too. He tried to avoid this by clearing his throat. "Well! It was pretty cool for being clueless!" He flashed another thumbs up, but quickly lowered his hand. Crap, that probably sounded bad. It didn't help much when he saw her hide, but he was relieved when he realized he wasn't the cause of it.
"Hello," an approaching officer greeted the trio. He introduced himself, summarized the situation and asked the group if they'd seen anything.
"Oh! Yeah!" Terry clenched his fists eagerly. He wasn't much of a fan of the police himself (they always seem so bent on ruining his fun), but he was more than willing to talk up his part in the small fight. Of course, he left out a couple of smaller details (specifically the bits about being scared) and seemed to be vague about the mysterious papers.
"Did you see the cause of this strange phenomenon?" The officer asked. In all honesty, as outlandish as flying sentient papers sounded, the man jotted it all down in earnest. It seemed to be business as usual for him.
"Uhhhh..." Terry glanced aside to Anna and Kai with a shrug. The action made it clear to the officer that he and the others knew something, but he didn't press them on it. Terry himself had caught onto Anna's own fear and been trying to avoid bringing it up in the first place. "...You don't gotta answer if you don't want to," he whispered, then flashed a mischievous smirk. "Cops can't punish you for not talkin'."

Anna tensed up when the officer came over to them and started to ask questions, she kept looking at the ground her long hair covering her face. Though as the man spoke he seemed nice so Anna then glanced up at him a bit.
Kai looked at the officer giving a weak smile, he then started to talk about what happened to him. How the thug beat him up a bit and the things he saw that Terry did and what happened to the goons. But leaving out it was Anna who was controlling the papers. That was up to her if she wanted to say that or not. But he then whispered to Anna, " Whatever you wanna do I will support ya." He said with a smile.
When Terry said she did not have to say anything she would not get into trouble, and then Kai said he would support whatever she wanted to do. The young girl thought about it before taking a deep breath and exhaled as she then stepped out from behind the boys. "I.. It was me. I don't know how I did it but I think I made those papers move like that.. I was just so scared.. Then the guy started to beat up Kai .. I just wanted him to stop.. Then he pointed a gun at Terry.. I didn't want to see him get hurt.. Then I stuck them all to the wall when they tried to attack us again.." Anna said in bravely as she could but there was still a hint of fear in her voice as she spoke.

The officer nodded, his face unchanging as he jotted down her words as well. When he was done, he closed his notepad shut. "Well, thank you for making our job easier," he said, offering Anna a small smile. It quickly faded as he continued to speak, though there was no malice behind it. "Just please be careful in the future," he advised, now shifting to the group in general. "Don't engage people who are dangerous. If you're ever in a situation like this again, what your friend did here was probably the second safest move." He glanced back to Anna. "Restraining them, I mean."
"...Then what's the safest move?" Terry lifted a brow. The officer frowned.
"Cooperating, I'm afraid."
"Whaaat?! That's bullcrap!" Terry stomped his foot, motioning to Kai. "He cooperated, and they still kicked him!"
The officer shook his head. "I understand, and don't think of me heartless for saying this, but he can still recover from that." He grimaced. "Money and items can always be recovered, but lives cannot."
Terry folded his arms, pouting. "That's still a load of...!"
"You were lucky today," the officer continued, trying to sound more stern. He had been more gentle with the group of children, but he had to be honest. "Your friend may have used her powers, but... any of the suspects could have powers of their own, too. It's best not to risk escalating a situation like that in the future." He tried to smile again. "Understood?" Of course, the officer had a feeling they wouldn't listen. It wasn't like he could personally stop them either, but the least he could do was warn them. Perhaps the sentiment was as old fashioned as the police department itself.
"Psh..." Terry folded his arms defiantly, looking away. "Yeah, okay, I guess..." He grumbled.

Anna instantly regretted saying anything now, she got scolded.. It all just happened to fast though and she was scared! She looked back down at the ground tears form in her eyes. Kai frowned at the officer, "Well I'm for one glad she stepped in! My injury could have been a lot worse then it is now. And she did save everyone here! Even though she did not really know what she was doing. Yeah It was dangerous but ya know what this whole city is dangerous when ya think about it! I think if you have the power to stand up and stop something from happening and you do it.. Its better then having the power to do something but then not do nothing at all...." Kai said, he honestly did not know where the guts to tell off a officer came from.. But he was mostly doing it for Anna. No way was he going to let some guy make her feel bad for helping out.
Anna looked up at Kai giving a small smile, she gave a small smile to Terry too.
"ANNA!!!! someone screamed. Anna and Kai both looked up to see a familiar face, Taylor was flying through the air and landed near them running over and hugged Anna. "Oh Anna!! I'm so glad you are ok!!" He said breathlessly as he hugged his sister tightly. "Gah... Taylor... Can't breath!" She said as Taylor squeezed her. "O-oh sorry." He said as he let go and looked over at Kai who looked like he had been hurt. " Kai you alright?" Taylor asked. Kai gave a weak smile, "Ehh... Could be better." he replied.
