Name: Gaill Watanabe
Age: 27
Race: Half-Baku
Powers:
Dream Consumption (Due to being half Baku, Gaill must feed off dreams to use his abilities. He limits himself to only eating the nightmares of others so he doesn’t consume ones hopes and aspirations, which would doom them to an empty life. The downside of feeding off bad dreams however is that they enter his mind, haunting him and giving him little rest. These dreams fade away over time, weakening his abilities. If he goes a long time without feeding on dreams his body will begin to physically crave and starve for them. The more emotional or traumatic the nightmare the longer it can sustain him)
Dream Walking (Can appear in other’s dreams, but if they wake up he’s out and he can’t interfere in the dream himself)
Telepathy (Can read thoughts of others and transmit messages through his mind to theirs. It’s harder to read the minds of strong willed individuals and he doesn’t have the focus for it in the heat of battle)
Intangibility (Can tap into his spiritual power to pass through physicial matter. Protects him from physical attack if he isn’t caught off guard, though magic can still effect him in this state. In this state he can also turn invisible and even fly, though being in this state drains the energy of his consumed dreams)
Psychokinesis (Can move objects with his mind. The heavier the object the more dream energy is used)
Clairvoyance (Can see and communicate with spirits and ghosts)
Date of birth: 4-9-1991
Home: Wanderer, often rests in the forest
Alignment: True Neutral
Job: Dream Therapist
Appearance:
Personality: Gaill is very calm and composed, his face rarely showing any emotion and keeping the same quiet tone in his voice in any situation. Some people may think he’s emotionless... but the truth is this is simply a mask he puts on due to the nature of his existence. He opens up more around people he has strong bonds with. Speaks in a matter of fact and soothing manner. Avoids conflict whenever possible and rarely picks sides. Has a fondness for the arts, particularly poetry. He does care for others and likes the feeling of helping people, which is why he offers his dream eating services for free and to anyone.
History: Born to a human mother and father, Gaill was set apart from his brothers and sisters even at birth, born with blue hair and feeling strangely cold to the touch, but very much alive. When a seer would reveal to the concerned couple that their son had been “chosen by the spirits” and was half Baku, the father would reject the child, believing him to be cursed, while the mother refused to put the baby up for adoption. Because of this, Gaill would grow up distant from his family, treated like an outcast by his own siblings and father. The only ones who raised Gaill were his mother and the sprit of the Baku. He would grow up detached from school or social standing, more focused on honing his abilities and the spiritual world. He wouldn’t be antisocial, however, making some friends with similarly minded people. With the coming of age and the death of his mother from illness, Gaill would leave his home to begin a life of nomadic wondering, following his instincts and vowing to make use of his powers for good, feeding off the nightmares of others. His travels have brought him to Aster City, searching for a greater meaning to his life.
