Taking a shortcut turns for the worst (Open)

Kaede was had been out for a while having to run the usual errands for kaleo and had just finished running them and was on her way back to the office. The normal route that she took was a lot of long distance walking, sure she could've taken the bus but sometimes she would end up waiting for the bus for a good while before it arrived and she was getting tired of having to catch a bus to get from point A to point B. Then she noticed a high school that was across the street on her normal route. Normally it would be something she wouldn't pay attention to but seeing that going through the school campus would make her trip a bit shorter she decided to use it as a shortcut. While she was there she did notice that the school was a bit different from the one she used to attend such as lockers being a bit bigger and that the school didn't have their students wear uniforms. "(Man, if only the schools back in Japan were like this...)", Kaede thought as she looked around her surroundings in the school, it was interesting to see what a school in the U.S.A. differed from one in Japan but soon enough she needed to continue to get back to Kaelo's office as she was already outside on the other side of the campus.

[Yuki]

As the day when on as normal two figures where lurking around the school, both of them Templars grunts. They where waiting and watching to spot the two students that put a stop the the plans of the Templars that attacked the school. They where here however without any orders, The follower of the group was rubbing her hands with glee and giggling softly." Oooh I can't wait! Catch those kids turn them in and get a promotion!" She said in a gleeful tone. The leader of this rogue group gave a harsh look, shutting the other one up. " If you keep talking we are bound to be noticed." He hissed at his partner. He had been planning this for a while he was not going to let his air headed partner ruin this for him! He want back to looking at the students, a mix of human and nonhuman's... This city just make him so sick... Did they not know the danger of magicis? Well the Templars would soon make them see how dangerous they really are... Humans and nonhuman's could never be friends.. Though first they had to take down The Guardians.. Should be easy enough they are just high school students after all.

As Kaede was still exploring the school she overhears someone talking out loud. She looks and notices two strangers were lurking about the school and it seemed like they were talking about turning in someone to get a promotion. She wasn't sure what their intentions were but whatever it was it didn't sound good. As they were looking, she goes up to them from behind and says with a not so pleasant look on her face "Oh really? And who might that be?"

[Yuki]

The two templars nearly jumped out of their skin when someone suddenly spoke to them. They turned look at Kaede but soon relaxed when they saw it was just some punk. "Buzz off kid this does not concern you.." The guy Templar said in annoyed tone. "Y-yeah Just go about your own business" Said the girl Templar though she did seem a bit more nervous then the other one.

Mean while it was free class and Sarah decided she was going to study outside, it was a nice day the and the sun was out would be a shame to waste it. So she found a place by a tree sitting down next to it she out put down her books and note book and started to study. Though soon she could hear voices that did not belong. "Huh... Wonder whats going on.. Eh.." Sarah shrugged going back to her school book it was most likely some passerby's talking or something.

("Think I'm that easy to fool, huh?")  Kaede thought still looking at the strangers while keeping an intimidating glare. While looking at them she noticed they were wearing some sort of armor that looks like it came out of the middle ages, and the girl that was behind the man seemed to be nervous as if they were trying to hide something from her. Unconvinced with their answer she decided she would try to force it out of them by being more specific and said "Not my business?" she said to the girl behind the man as she looked at her, "I'm pretty sure it's my business to ask you. The two of you look like you're sneaking around the school as if you're trying to spy on someone, furthermore you're both wearing armor that looks like it came out of a chivalry shop, and to top that off you're doing all of that here at a school trying to find someone to get a promotion. Seems pretty shady to be doing that here and I'm pretty sure anyone would ask you the same thing since the two of you stand out from the public!" At this point Kaede probably had made herself loud enough to be heard out of earshot and may not have realized that she may have drawn outside attention from a few people. Kaede, still looking at the two decided to repeat the question and said, "I'll ask you again...Who are you hunting?"

Cedric was quickly growing annoyed with this woman, just who did she think she was anyway? He did not answer to her he answered to the Templar's. So he then removed his sword from his hilt pointing it right at Kaede. A cold air started to come off the sword as ice started to form on the blade. His eyes where cold and heartless as he glared at Kaede with no fear and some annoyance. " This is your first and final warning civilian... This does not concern you... Move on along..." Cedric in a cold dead serious tone. Krea also drew her sword hers started to glow and cackle with electricity though she said nothing, as she did not really want to threaten a Innocent civilian she was just following her partners lead on this, just hoping this woman would just leave.



When the voice she was hearing got louder Sarah knew something was going on, she then put her things down and got up to look, her eyes grew wide as soon as she laid eyes on the Templar's that where now threatening someone. She had accused them of hunting someone.. If they where here that meant they where after herself, Taylor and Taji... Sarah took out her communicator to contact the rest of the Guardians. " This is Ice Queen, Templar's spotted near back of the school grounds." Was all she said as she put it away. Sarah then stepped out and started walking over. She then formed a large ball of ice and without a word threw it at Cedric. However Krea saw it coming, she stepped in the way and sliced the ice ball in half with her sword. " Who are they hunting you ask? I can answer that.. They are hunting My friends and I... The Guardians." Sarah said as now ice spikes started to form in the air around her, they where very sharp and pointed at the Templar's



Cedric did not even flinch when ice ball was thrown he trusted Krea to stop it and she did. His eyes then glanced Sarah's way. So this was the one known as Ice Queen... The leader of that group that called themselves The Guardians. It was time to take down these criminal's down once and for all. He then started to charge at Sarah only to be suddenly blown away. That did catch him off guard, Cedric groaned a bit as he stood back up and saw boy had showed up.. Another Guardian had just showed up.. This was going to be a fun fight. Krea gasped when Cedric got blown away, she ran to her partner's side getting into a fighting stance. No one messed with her partner and got away with it!

" You ok? Got here as fast as I could." Taylor said, Sarah nodded. " Yeah, lets take these creeps down..." Sarah said with anger in her eyes. She would never forgive what the Templar's did to this school... No way would she let them do anything like that again if she could help it.

[Draken]

When Cedric pointed a sword a Kaede, it may have caught her off guard for a moment but then it was at that time she notice that the sword he pointed at her was not normal as she felt the cold air coming from the sword as if was stuck in a freezer. Kaede wasn't sure what these two were capable of but that thought soon left her mind as she soon saw that someone threw an ice ball via magic and as it turned out it was some girl claiming to be with a group called the guardians. (So this is who they were after, huh?), she thought to herself she then noticed that now the two templars had shifted their focus to the gaurdians as another one had join the girl in the fight. Kaede could've left but as usual she wouldn't back down from a fight and especially not this one, as soon as Cedric got back on his feet with his back turned on Kaede, she ran towards him and prepared to dropkick him in the back and send him into his partner.

When Kaede came charging in for attack it did not go unnoticed, Cedric did not have much time counter attack so he quickly took a swipe at the ground next to him with his sword making a wall of ice to slow Kaede down the ice would shatter when she kicked it but it was enough to take the brunt of the attack. Cedric grunted a bit as the weakened attack hit, " Fine, if you take their side you are a enemy of the Templar's! " Cedric said with anger, as he then came at Kaede swinging his sword and ice shot out at her. He was not going to any mercy to anyone who sided with the enemy.

Krea kept her eyes on Sarah and Taylor, she knew Cedric could handle himself, though while he was busy with that girl it left her alone with the two The Guardians. This was a really bad idea... Things where not going to plan and it was all thanks to that random girl that just had to butt in!



Sarah kept her ice spikes in the are above her as she glared at the templar's, " Taylor you go back to the school and warn them. The others are coming but I want to make sure the school is safe just in case more Templar's show up." Sarah suggested. Taylor was a bit shocked but nodded, he knew Sarah could handle this. She was The Guardians leader after all and she was a hero long before the group was formed. "R-right." Taylor said as he then took off back to the school. In a way Taylor was relieved, he still was not very confident in his fighting skills. But he could do his part to make sure his fellow students where safe.


Sarah looked at Krea with pure hate, " I will make the Templar's pay for what they did! Our former principal was a great man we all loved him!" Sarah said as she then shot the ice spikes at Krea. The templar started run, her sword crackling with lighting as she swung it around trying to keep the ice spikes from hitting her. Krea had no idea what Sarah was talking about, could be lies for all she knew. The Templar's she knew where all noble and would never strike someone down in cold blood. After dodging and slicing through the ice spikes Krea then started to charge at Sarah. Sarah then formed a sword of ice she then too charged in and the two crossed blades.

[Draken]

"(So these guys are called the Templars and they killed the principle of the school? Geez these guys stooped low! Time to-)Huh?" while she was thinking, Kaede suddenly saw there were ice shot coming towards her direction and she immediately rolls out of the way to dodge the shots. "(Dang it! dosen't look like I'm gonna be able to attack him directly)", Kaede thought as she tried to figure out how to take on Cedric. She had a similar fight like this happen and should've known better than to get wrapped up in this but now it was too late and had no choice but to fight back. She soon noticed there was a bee's nest was above but not directly where Cedric was standing and realized that would be her best means of attacking him, but the question is how to get the bee's nest to land on Cedric. She picks up a rock light enough for her to throw and gets ready for whatever Cedric plans to do next.

As the fight went on a crowed started to gather, some started to cheer for The Guardians while some just stood there in awe of their hero fighting. Among the crowed was a young blue haired man that looked unamused with groceries in his arms. He looked on at the fight rolling his eyes a bit. " Another fight in the streets.. " He said with a sigh as he shook his head. " Its seems like this happens almost everyday now days." He said to himself as he watched. " Oh well not my problem." He said. He had no idea who these people where and nor did he care. But he could not also help but stay and watch for a bit.




Krea and Sarah glared at each other as their swords clashed together, Though seeing as Sarah's sword was just made of ice it started to crack when wielded against a electric enchanted real sword. Sarah was then quick to jump back as she then started to change the form of her weapon into huge mallet shaped hammer. She then started to swings at Krea. " I will never let you harm anyone at this school ever again! And you will never hurt Taji ether!" Sarah said as she attacked " She has done nothing wrong! She just wants to live a normal life!" But you guys just want to kill her because she is half dragon that is just so wrong!" Sarah said as she kept on the attack. Krea Mean while was doing her best not to get smacked by the newly formed hammer. She shot bolts of lighting at Sarah as she dodged. "Dragons are monsters! They attacked humans!" Krea replied. Sarah shook her head, "The only ones I see attacking are the templars..." Sarah said angrily as she swung her ice hammer at Krea.


Cedric watched as the girl dodged his attack and now seemed to be plotting something. He also over heard everything that was being said from Sarah who was fighting his partner, how he wanted to just to ignore this girl and help fight Sarah but he could not ignore a possible threat. Cedric then pointed his sword at Kaede with a ice cold glare, " I give you one last chance to leave... You are unarmed and you our not our target... I insist you leave... If you don't I will kill you..." Cedric in a dead serious tone of voice as his sword started to let off streams of ice cold air that could be seen. He did not really want to kill someone who was not his target and who was clearly human.. But he would if she did not leave.

[Draken]

Kaede now knew that she needed to make a decision right now if she wanted to take Cedric down. He was lined up with the bee's nest perfectly and now came for the hard part...getting the bee's nest to land on Cedric and she only had one shot at getting this right. If this all goes wrong however she would wind up back at the hospital or wind up dead seeing how he had a sword with some ice abilities added to it. ("No good dwelling on what will happen afterward, just gonna have to give this my all...") she thought as she got her arm ready and then pitched the rock towards the wasp's nest that was above Cedric's head with full speed.

[Yuki]

Cedric watched as Kaede held a rock in her hand was really going to try and hit him that that? When she went to throw it the Templar ducked a little as the rock flew above him. He did not even bother to see where it went never taking his eyes off the young teen. " If you think you Ca-" Cedric was cuddenly cut off when he heard the sound of angry buzzing behind him. He turned to see a wasp nest had been knocked down behind him. It now dawned on him what Kaede was throwing the rock at now. Countless of wasps now angry buzzed about and started to attack anything and any one near them. The wasps swarmed Cedric, stinging and bitting him. The Templar cried out in pain and frustration as he at first used his hands trying to get the angry wasps off him but then he charged up his sword hitting the wasps and himself with a shot of ice cold air to get the wasps off him.


The blue haired young man who was watching on the side lines could not help but chuckle a little when the rock trick worked. "Heh nice."


Mean while Krea was doing everything she could to stay out of range of Sarah's attacks with the ice hammer she formed.

[Draken]

Kaede gave the rock a hard throw at the wasp nest and just nicked it enough for it to fall behind Cedric. (HA! Perfect!), she thought seeing how her plan worked perfectly. Now she had Cedric left open for an attack during this time she also noticed that Krea and Sarah were still fighting it out, then she knew what to do. She decided that charging into Cedric and have him get caught in the crossfire between the two would hopefully throw Krea off in the fightand allowing kaede herself some more space to breath in. (Alright, time to give him whats coming for him), she thought as she saw the right moment to charge him and then began to suddenly charge straight into him and have him sent flying into Krea, and if all should go according to plan it would disrupt Krea in her fight with Sarah.

The wasp nest had fully distracted Cedric long enough for Kaede to have a opening if only a small one. As she charged at him he was slow to react and was indeed pushed back but not as far as she had hoped. The Templar grunted a bit but now he was fulled by rage, He had had enough of Kaede! How was a unarmed woman causing him so much trouble? He would be the laughing stock of the Templars and no one would take him seriously anymore and that promotion he has always wanted would be out of his reach for years! No he was not going to let that happen! He had to prove himself! " Time to die...." Cedric said in a icy cold tone as the power of his sword grew stronger as he came at Kaede.


Kenji who had been watching form the sidelines dropped the bag of groceries he had been holding and ran into the battle, he drew a short sword he had on him and quickly placed himself between Kaede and Cedric. Kenji grunted a bit and took a small step back as the ice sword came in contact with his. Cedric had a pure look of shock on his face and Kenji just smirked back at him even though he had just barley held back Cedric's attack. " Correct me if I'm wrong but.... Aren't knights supposed be all about honor and what not? Its not very honorable to be going after school kids and attacking unarmed ladies!" " Kenji said as then his short sword was suddenly engulfed in flames. This caused Cedric to jump back. But it was clear that Kenji's sword was not magically enchanted it was just some flashy magic he was doing. Kenji then dropped a extra dagger he had on him and kicked it back to Kaede. " Sorry its not enchanted or anything but its better then nothing." Kenji took a deep breath and exhaled, " Oh man this is my first time trying to play hero like this. The Guild Master is gonna give me a earful later." Kenji said with a small laugh. It was against the rules of the guild to get into street fights or to take the law in their own hands. But Kenji was not about to watch someone get hurt right in front of him and just stand by and do nothing.




Mean while the fight between Sarah and Krea was still going strong nether of them giving in just yet.

Kaede thought she had Cedric where she wanted him but it didn't seem like he was going to go down that easy and when he started to come after her she thought that she was going to get hit hard until a man with blue hair came out of nowhere and stopped Cedric from landing a blow. She was surprised he was able to stop an attack like that and before she knew he had kicked a dagger towards Kaede until it stopped at her feet. Without wasting any time Kaede picked up the dagger but then had to think her next move carefully. She could try to finish off Cedric with the blue haired stranger that just bought her some time but it was clear that she underestimated Cedric. Then she remember the other Templar that was fighting the other girl who had ice powers and they have been fighting for a good while, but she had no time to ponder and needed to act and immediately decided to continue the fight that started between her and Cedirc, she had never held a dagger before let alone throw one but now was not the time to worry about it, she readied the dagger for throwing, aims it a Cedric and throws it. Unfortunately, the dagger being bigger than a knife, gets close to Cedric but misses him comepletely and instead heads straight for Krea.
