We meet again ( Sean)

Jade as always was wondering around the city, she had been learning many things about the humans of this city. Though a strange and alien sound had come to ears, strange music, screaming and laughter. And most of all strange lights. Never seeing such a thing of course Jade was drawn to it. So far this was nothing like she had ever seen in the city. It seemed the humans where having fun though. Laughing, eating strange looking food and getting on... Well She was not sure they they where getting onto but they seemed to be having fun. So the beastmen started to walk around this strange new place. Though the sounds where almost overwhelming. But she was able to handle it, and the smells where strong as well. As her eyes scanned the sea of faces one stood out, one of the humans that gave her a name. Jade blinked as she then started to walk over to him. " Hello Sean. " She said in her normal no emotion tone of voice.

Sean was out on another assignment. Nice and simple: find new people, and get them interested in getting help from John. He didn't seem very into it, though. He spent more time staring at nothing than he did actually talking to people. That business with Taylor had shaken his beliefs. Before, it was fine to help John in this way, because he did help people, and he did owe him a debt, but now...well, it was hard not to see things in a different light after that kidnapping, and after his part in the escape. Now it was hard to justify finding people for John, even if they were likely better off with him. He was shaken from his thoughts by a familiar, deadpan voice. "Ah, hello there Jade. Top o' th' morn, an' all that. And how are ye taday?" he said, seeming rather cheerful. This could be just what he needed, something to distract him from...other matters. "Sorry, but Julia couldn't join me taday. She's caught up in some trouble with th' boss." he said, leaving out, and doing his best not to think about, that it was legal trouble, and that Johnathan was with her, testifying that she was mentally unfit, in order to take her back under his wing. Today was their court date, after the bank heist that started this whole mess.

Jade listened as Sean spoke and just nodded when he said that Julia was not with him but with someone called boss. Though even his voice was cheerful Jade could feel something was bothering him. It was mostly thanks to her powers though, without them she may not have detected something was wrong. Jade was unsure how to help though as human emotion was still very alien to her. Jade then heard Sean's thoughts about someone called Taylor it would seem whatever was bothering him was due to this person. " Who is Taylor? And why does he have you upset?" Jade asked in her deadpan tone of voice. Though again she was a bit confused, should she care why Sean was upset? Though what she has been learning friends worry about friends and Julia said they are friends.

Sean seemed a little shocked at Jade's words. It would seem that in trying to hide what was happening with Julia from the girl, he left himself open elsewhere. He was going to need to get better at that. "Taylor is...Well, Taylor's a kid I know, not too unlike yerself. Well...Perhaps a bit more like a stereotypical kid, but not too unlike ye, in any case. He an' I, we had sort of a run in a while back. Nothin' too serious, but it raised a few...concerns, eh? That was then, though, and this is now. What brings ye to th' park, Jade?" he asked, trying to change the subject. It wasn't that he was trying to hide something...okay he was. He was trying to hide the whole 'kidnapping thing', but perhaps if he focused on the whole 'robot girl at the amusement park' thing, maybe he could keep himself from focusing on things that might betray him if she read his mind. It didn't work entirely, little things slipped through the cracks, mostly the end of his encounter with Taylor. The conversation, and the escape, notably the door in the face. He actively stopped thinking about these things as soon as they popped up, though. Which they did, an awful lot.

Jade stared at Sean as his thoughts started to race through his mind. As if he was trying to stop her from seeing and hearing them. She could still very well see and hear them but they where a bit hazy so she could not see the details. Not that she was trying to forcefully read into his mind. They where just thoughts he happened to be thinking about and seemed to be worried about them. When Sean asked why she was here Jade looked at the lights and rides around her. " I came here because I was curious of the flashing lights and whatever those things are.. The humans seem to be having fun and eating strange looking food. " Jade said as she pointed at the lights, rides and people eating cotton candy. She then looked at Sean again, " This boy Taylor, You helped him? But he hurt you.. why? " Jade asked.

"Ah...Ye picked up on tha', did ye? It's a bit o' a complicated situation. He was right ta do so, rest assured." Sean said. For a brief moment, he was annoyed at himself for slipping up, and giving information that he didn't want to, but he quickly figured that there was little sense blaming himself. After all, a psychic could probably probe deeper than what he could adequately defend. Not that he was going to give up his attempts at hiding his thoughts. "He was...a guest," a captive, "o' John's. Nice enough kid, I'd say. Quiet. Ran off after a while." he kept things simple in an attempt to keep the conversation from expanding too much.

"So. Ye came here ta see what th' fuss was abou', eh? What say we partake in th' amusement?" he offered. It was an embarrassingly obvious attempt to change the subject, but Sean didn't really care. The more he talked about things, the more he struggled to hide his thoughts. Even without the worry of his thoughts being read, he didn't like remembering the scenes of that day, like driving the van when the unconscious Taylor was thrown in, ready to be transported to John.

So this Taylor had every right to hurt Sean? Jade just stared as more thoughts he tried to keep from being heard came forward, this time it was Sean and a partner who had taken the boy knocking him out some how. All for this person called John. Though taking the boy had caused Sean much grief it would seem. So taking the boy was not something he wanted but he was told to do so by this John and later Sean helped the boy get away. So in this story John was like the scientists that made her.. That was as close as Jade could understand someone who is bad. Though as they spoke of this Jade could feel how uneasy this was making him. So for now she would not talk about this Taylor or John. " I would like to see what this amusement is." Jade said with a nod, in a way she thought perhaps if she did human things she could better understand humans and those things called emotions.

"Splendid, lass, jus' splendid! Let's be goin' then, eh? What'd ye like ta do first? There's games ta be played, food ta eat. Of course, th' main attractions are the rides, aren't they?" Sean seemed excited, and in a way, he supposed he was. This was as good as any excuse to get his mind off things, perhaps an even better excuse than most, considering, and it had been a long time since he had had any sort of fun, even if it was just in an attempt to distract someone from reading his mind. He gave a quick glance around the park. He had been here multiple times, but he had never really experienced the place. It was always because of work that he came here. In his quick scan he pegged a few rides which the girl might...not feel strongly one way or another with. Did she like carnival food? Did she even care? Well, he supposed there was only one way to find out, and that was to have her try a variety of things, and see if anything stuck

It seemed Sean become a little more happier when they did not speak of this Taylor child.. Jade would made sure to note in the future not to tall about things that make humans sad. Though this did not stop her from wanting to know more about this Taylor. Perhaps after this she would find the young human to hear his side of the story. When Sean asked what they should do, Jade looked around her but she had no real desire to do anything.. But she wanted Sean to feel better so she would just go along for now. " Anything is fine.. How about that?" Jade in her normal deadpan tone as she pointed to a scary looking roller coaster. Without waiting a reply Jade walked over to the line that had been formed for the ride.

"How about wha...I see." Sean said simply as Jade ran off. He wasn't much one for roller coasters, but he had offered to let her choose. It would only make sense that she would choose the most...intense ride she could see. "Comin' right behind ye, Jade." he called, bracing himself mentally for what he was going to go through in not a very long time. After a short while, he followed, and got to her before any more people queued. "Might want ta be a bit cautious though, Jade. Things like this, they...uh, they can be a bit much fer some, eh?" he advised, though he had a strange feeling that Jade might not be all that affected by such things as g-forces. Still, he didn't want to be blamed if this was the one thing that made her react. "Jus'...just brace yerself, will ye? Fer me?" he asked, not quite concerned, but not quite indifferent.

Jade blinked as Sean spoke and looked at him, now he seemed to be nervous and perhaps scared at the thought of riding this ride. Jade did not really understand, by the looks of it all humans loved to go on those things. She then tilted her head, looking at the ride and back at Sean again. " Is Sean scared to go on this ride?" She asked not trying to be rude just simply asking a question. If it was then she did not really care if they had to switch rides, for how could she know what she was missing if she had never been on a ride before. Jade then looked at everyone around them that where in the line. Unlike Sean they where looking forward to going on it, so she did wonder why Sean was nervous when everyone else seemed more then happy to give it it a try.

"Scared? No, no no no. A bit...nervous perhaps, no need ta worry yerself about me, Jade. I can handle meself jus' fine."" Sean assured. While he did certainly seemed frightened of the ride, he wasn't. Well, he wasn't all that much. He did have a bit of a problem with apprehension, however. It was hard for him to look at the colossus that was the roller coaster and not feel a little bit of worry about getting on the thing. Didn't matter, though. Certainly didn't matter. He'd get through this just as he'd been through harder, and less...fun challenges.

"Ah, it'd appear tha' it's...err...Well, seems like we're up. After ye now, Jade" Sean noted as the progressed through the line. Couple more seats left. He wouldn't be able to chicken out. Not without it being obvious, anyway. "Remember what I said now. Brace yerself when on th' ride, alright, lass?" he warned once more. It wouldn't do for her to wonder why she was put in restraints, and then work her way out of them while the coaster zoomed past some tight turn. He certainly didn't need something like that on his plate today.

So Sean was trying to hide the fact he was scared, well she was not going to push it if he wanted to act brave, when it came to their turn Jade stepped on the ride and sat down, when Sean spoke she blinked when she read his thoughts about his worry how she would react to the restraints. Though simply just reading the minds around them she could tell the restraints where for her safety. So when the restraints came down Jade did not struggle. " I know its for my safety, I will not fight it." Jade said as if assure Sean. When everyone was seated the ride then started. At first it was slow and then started to pick up speed, the G forces could be felt now soon the coster came to a hill, it was climbed slowly and once to the top it dashes down and then went through a few loopty loops. While everyone else was screaming, laughing and having a good time. Jade just sat there as if she was not enjoying herself when truth be told she did not even know how to. Soon the ride came to a stop and everyone started to get off. When it was her turn Jade got up and followed after everyone else. Once she was off the ramp she then waited for Sean.

Sean stepped off the coaster, a bit more shaky-legged than when he had gotten on. He wasn't the type to scream on ride like that, but he was the type that grits their teeth, and holds on tight to the restraints. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy it. It was just that it was a...powerful experience, as he had expected. "Alright, now, Jade. Did tha' do anythin' fer ye? Get some fresh air t'ye noggin?" he asked amicably. He was happy that the girl didn't do anything rash while on the ride. He would have missed the unique outlook she had on things if she had compromised her safety, despite of her assurances. "Now, did ye want ta go on any other rides, or are ye satisfied with th' one?" he inquired further. He was right, he thought with some level of satisfaction, this diversion had gotten his mind off things, at least a bit. Well, far enough off things that he wasn't crippled with doubt anymore, which was certainly nice.

Jade was unsure if she wanted to ride another ride, as she did not really feel any emotion from the one she had just been on. She could feel the joy coming off the others who had been on the ride.. But she felt none for herself, why was that Jade had to wonder.. How come she could not feel emotions like the humans around her? So when Sean asked if she wanted to try another ride the Bestmen shook her head, her ears drooping a bit. "No... I do not wish to ride." Jade said as she then started to walk, looking at everything as she passed. As if she was studying everything.
