Relationship:
He's good friends with El Masko and acquaintances with Dalton Noble, El Masko's boss. He's also friends with Chiyoko, having supported her while they were in TOP Wrestling together.
Personality:
When Zeke first gained his powers, he became cocky and overconfident. This was coupled with his youthful mindset that he was invincible, and he grew into an arrogant show off. He personally saw his daredevil attitude as bravery; some might have thought the same, but others saw it as foolishness. Unfortunately, it took a grave accident for Zeke to realize just how foolish he truly was. After permanently incapacitating a competitor, Zeke finally understood the danger of his powers and mentally shut down. He self-reflected for a long time, ultimately maturing into a completely different man.
Now understanding the weight of his actions, Zeke acts more carefully with his powers and is reluctant to use them without proper precautions. He quit his flashy antics and grew more stern and serious. That isn't to say he's without compassion; he's often the first to check if others are okay, taking wounds and injuries very seriously. Sometimes it might make him come across as a bit of a worrywart, but he'd rather be safe than make the same mistake again.
Powers:
Athleticism
Zeke used to be part of a superpowered fighting circuit, so he's used to managing his weight, mass, diet and training regime. He's since retired from both the circuit and a brief stint in professional wrestling, so his routine isn't as strict as it was when he was competing. He still maintains a basic training schedule however in order to stay in fighting shape. This means he has strength, endurance and agility best suited for combat. (Interestingly, despite his powers, he naturally seems to be built more for strength than speed.) He's also incredibly tenacious, and can take quite a beating in the face of adversity.
Electric Conductivity
Zeke is able to conduct electricity from his body. Though he can produce it from any part of his body, he can best control it when discharged from his hands. However, his aim is not a guaranteed shot, and the electrical discharge often tends to wildly strike a general area rather than a single target. (He wears Magitech gauntlets to better shape and aim his otherwise wild attacks.) Tall or metal targets are easier to hit and often more susceptible to his power. He also can't discharge infinitely; doing so for too long would strain his body/muscles or dehydrate him.
Lightning Gauntlets
For combat, Zeke wears a pair of gloved Magitech gauntlets that serve to limit his output of electrical power. They are meant to ensure that Zeke only releases a controlled amount of electricity with every attack, so that he doesn't have to worry about holding back or measuring his electricity when attacking. He can adjust the settings of his gauntlets to retain a higher charge and thus unleash stronger shocks, but it is typically set to avoid severely injuring or killing people.
The gauntlets also allow him to concentrate his attacks into a focused lightning beam. He can also use it to shape his electricity, such as forming a projectile lightning ball. He's most fond of shaping it into small, spear-like lightning bolts, which he can hurl at foes. He can expand upon this and create an entire spear of solidified electricity. He has to keep contact with the spear in order to maintain its solidified shape. He must also continuously emit electricity to keep its shape, compared to releasing it in bursts for other attacks.
Weaknesses:
He cannot discharge electricity indefinitely, or else he risks straining his muscles or dehydrating himself. If he's not fighting a life or death threat, Zeke also tends to hold back due to his fear of gravely hurting someone again. Rubber can also easily negate his powers, forcing him to fight around it.
Dousing him with water also makes him hold back from using his powers, though it does not weaken them. In fact, water actually enhances his electricity, but this potency comes at the heightened risk of his electrical shocks running through others and accidentally electrocuting them. Zeke does not want this and absolutely refuses to risk hitting allies while in this state. (On the flip side, if he's hit with distilled or purified water, it would dampen his powers.)
History:
When Zeke developed his powers, he became as reckless and unpredictable as the electricity that coursed through him. He was only a teenager, but he felt invincible. Powers were rare in his hometown, and gaining them felt like he'd just won the lottery. Zeke would use this development as an excuse to dabble in some vigilantism, training himself all the while. He didn't view himself a hero, but he figured he should use his abilities for something good. Of course, he would end up creating as much trouble as the trouble he would stop, but it didn't stop his exploits from going to his head.
Using the alias Livewire, Zeke would eventually find his place in Superfight Championship, a promotional fighting circuit for superpowered competitors. Was he intimidated at seeing so many others with powers in one place? Yes. Did it finally mean he could cut loose? Also yes! Even if he lacked formal combat training, Zeke made up for it with flash and flair. Now that he had an audience, he played up fights for them, much to the promoter's delight.
However, much like lightning, Zeke's time with SFC was bright but brief, ending in disaster. He had fought particularly hard one fight and squeezed out a win, but his celebration was cut short when he found out his electricity had completely crippled his opponent. Zeke was deeply shaken by the experience, and he eventually opted to retire from the leagues to retrain himself.
He would eventually join TOP Wrestling, competing without his powers. There, he would befriend an eccentric luchador named El Masko. After teaming up together, Zeke gained a fondness for the masked wrestler - which made it all the worse when El Masko was forced into retirement via a nasty back injury. Zeke was infuriated that the luchador's opponent cared little for El Masko's wellbeing to begin with; he made sure to avenge his friend, eventually defeating the man himself. His display would grab the attention of Bill Pryce, who would hire him and El Masko as bodyguards for his client, Chiyoko Uzuki.
After Chiyoko and Bill's parent company, Kirin Canyon, pulled the pair out of TOP Wrestling due to safety concerns, Zeke was offered a contract to continue his work as a bodyguard. He accepted the deal and moved to Aster City, where he takes up odd jobs (and maybe some vigilantism) in between his bodyguard work. He still keeps in touch with El Masko, who has taken up a job at a wrestling school called the Dragon Fang Dojo; Zeke will sometimes show up himself to help students with training.
Anything else:
- He tends to keep a low profile due to his shame from Superfight Championship.
- He's a replacement character for an alternate version of Daniel Collins, who competed in TOP Wrestling and bodyguarded Chiyoko during her time there.
