Gender: Male
Age: ~55
Race: Human
Home: Aster City
Alliance: None (Himself)
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Family: N/A
Friends: None
Rivals: Blake Devitt
Enemies: Heliosoft

Job: High Level Executive; Magic Summoner/Contractor
Appearance: Lyle is a middle aged man. He's a bit on the shorter side with a somewhat rotund build. He has dark hair that's begun to recede in his old age. A nasty burn scar marks his face, particularly his eyes, though he hides this under a masquerade mask. He often wears a suit to maintain a professional look.
Relationship: ((are you with someone, or have a relative?))
He's grown jaded with people and cares only for Black Frost, the ice elemental he's bonded with since childhood.
Personality:
Lyle is a composed, manipulative man. He is emotionally distant from other people, having little to no empathy for others. In fact, he thinks lowly of others for not having the same magical aptitude he possesses, and can be rather arrogant because of this. However, he plays the role of charismatic executive to keep up appearances. He tries to stay in the good graces of many people as he can in order to keep favors, though he finds threats or blackmail can be just as effective at this. He is meticulous when it comes to his schemes and likes to ensure he always has contingency plans or multiple favorable outcomes that further advance his ultimate end goal. In the end, he trusts no one but the ice elemental he is bound to, Black Frost.
Powers: ( MUST PUT WEAKNESS AND LIMITS)
Magical Aptitude & Knowledge
Lyle has always had a vested interest in magic, interacting with it since he was a young child. He was mostly self taught until he was invited to Heliosoft, where the company's resources greatly expanded his knowledge. While mostly experienced with elemental magic - specifically ice - Lyle helped develop Heliosoft's Magitech and thus has experience with the process. However, his own methods are not restricted by Heliosoft's safety measures, so any Magitech developed by him may have dangerous side effects.
Magical Contracting - WIP
- He's devised a way to contract magical beings to his terms
- Only works on magical beings (its a magically binding process. he can use regular normal people contracts for normal people lol)
- Beings have to agree with the contract in order for it to be magically binding
- much like real contracts, there is fine print and legalese that can be slipped in
- Lyle more or less will try to slip by with half truths or lying via omission. one of these conditions is usually asking loyalty of the being to ensure they don't betray him
- If anything is pointed out to him he can still alter the contract to the being's liking. Basically the choice is entirely up to the being he's contracting, its simply a matter of whether or not they're thorough enough to examine the fine print.
Ice Powers - "Black Frost"
Lyle has the ability to generate and manipulate ice, granted to him by the titular ice elemental he's bonded with. He can form it on any surface of his body, but will mainly cast it from his hands. He can touch a surface and slowly freeze it over, or fire off an ice beam for offensive purposes. He can also form solid objects out of ice, though he has to concentrate to maintain their shape.
Because of his bond with a particularly powerful ice elemental, Lyle is also immune to the cold and can move much more easily in subzero temperatures compared to other warmblooded beings.
Weaknesses:
Lyle is not athletic nor a fighter by any means. He protects himself from a position of power rather than physical fights, so he can be easily taken down by a normal person with some combat training. Even if his powers would give him the upper hand, he refuses to take chances if there's a possibility of losing, and would prefer to avoid combat entirely. If forced to fight, he prefers ranged attacks and is more susceptible to being taken down through melee attacks.
Fire is also an easy counter to his ice, though it seems to require more heat than usual to melt, otherwise it seems to melt slower than normal ice. (The heat can still weaken it enough to crumble and break, however.)
History:
Even as a child, Lyle always had an aptitude for magic, but his parents never believed him. Magic was simply not a thing where they lived - as far as they were concerned, he was just another child playing pretend. They may have been loving, but this frustrated Lyle to no end. This was even more so when he formed a bond with an ice elemental. Though it could not show itself, Lyle would insist upon its existence. No one believed him, and his parents only gained an ever growing concern over his mental health. Disheartened, young Lyle eventually stopped speaking of the ice elemental, but he never ended its friendship with it.
In fact, Lyle grew closer to the being, which he had come to call Black Frost. He was hurt that others believed it was just in his imagination, so he resolved that he would one day bring it into the world to prove its existence. This loyalty would eventually lead Black Frost to sharing its powers with Lyle, granting him ice manipulation once he was old enough. The new feeling of power would lead him back to his fascination with magic, where he would become an expert in the field.
This would earn Lyle a spot on Heliosoft's Magitech development team, about two decades before the present day. The overseer of the project, Xander Aurelius, wanted to push limits of the company's innovation, and hoped to do so using magic. Of the group, Lyle would end up working closely with Blake Devitt. The man's own magical knowledge greatly overlapped with Lyle's knowledge of the elementals, and in secret, Lyle plotted to use what he learned from Blake to finally manifest Black Frost in the physical world.
The summoning attempt triggered a sharp drop in temperature throughout the city. As it turned out, this sheer power indicated Black Frost was not a mere elemental, but a beast, a titan - much to Lyle's delight. Blake however was not as keen on the idea of calling forward an ice monster. He attacked Lyle, cobbling together all the counterspells and rituals he could manage to stop him. Black Frost's summoning was interrupted, and Lyle was left with a burn scar to the face for his troubles. He escaped with some of Heliosoft's equipment and fled, deciding he would try again another day - uninterrupted.
Unfortunately, Lyle quickly learned he could not attempt to summon Black Frost again so soon. Whether it was something Blake had done or if it was the natural result of trying to summon a creature so powerful, Lyle knew he would have to plan better...
In the present day, Lyle enjoys a high ranking executive position. He has spent the last two decades meticulously preparing the arrival of the Black Frost, using his position to secure resources and funding to ensure that his next summon will be a success...
