Personality:
Though very sheltered and a bit spoiled by her father, Celia is a kind and polite young woman. She cares about the well being of others, though she is incredibly shy and has a hard time speaking up. She dislikes creating conflict or upsetting people, so she tends to be easily susceptible to suggestion, making her very much a doormat. Celia's tendency to put others' needs before hers often stresses her out; she inadvertently relies on her father to intervene for her. She has difficulty facing problems on her own due to her upbringing and is rather naive when it comes to reading other people's intentions. She is an idealist at heart however, and will cling to her beliefs in other people's goodness no matter how childish it may seem.
Powers:
Celia is not a fighter, but she has spent much time learning how to tend to the wounded. She's more suited in a support role than an active one.
Herbalism & Limited Alchemy Knowledge
Celia has knowledge of plants and flowers used for medicinal purposes. If she gathers enough materials, she can make basic salves or medicines out of them. While not as quick healing as magic or powerful like pharmaceutical drugs, these medicines serve best as natural remedies when low on supplies, when out on the field, or to supplement bed rest. Celia also has some limited experience with using plants in alchemy, which she can use to brew small amounts of healing potions.
Light Magic: Healing & Defensive Buffs
Celia is able to use a form of magic that taps into a primal force known as the Light. Though it is not necessarily "good," it usually manifests in living beings as positive energy. It is channeled by strong emotions, willpower or faith. Ceilia uses it to heal others from injuries, fatigue or wounds. It is also possible for her to cleanse certain ailments, curses, or magical illnesses, but Ceilia is self-taught and as such doesn't quite know the intricacies for cleansing more complicated ailments.
She can also use her Light magic to grant protective blessings to herself or others. They can increase a person's durability or even protect them from harm, but the effects are always temporary. Minor blessings last longer (such as up to half an hour) while major ones might last for less than even 10 seconds.
Weaknesses:
Celia has no fighting experience; she's physically weak and easy to take down.
Casting magic also takes concentration; if she's attacked or even just distracted, her spell will be interrupted and she'll either take longer or have to start her spell over. Because of the nature of the Templars, she is also secretive about her magical abilities while living among them.
History:
Celia was adopted into the Templars after one of their knights, Matheus Reinhart, discovered her as a child. Tasked with defending a town under siege, Matheus found her in a burning home and protected her from falling debris. While Celia recovered from the ordeal, Matheus' leg did not; he was forced to retire from combat. Celia couldn't help but feel guilty about Matheus' injury. She was grateful but concerned, and often asked her caretakers about his well being. Matheus himself was eventually convinced to pay the girl a visit, and Celia was quick to open up to him.
Celia admired his heroism and wished to do whatever she could to help Matheus. She put forth the idea of "fighting bad guys" like he did, but Matheus dissuaded the child, suggesting she should help the injured instead. Celia immediately took to the idea, and began her "first treatment" by hugging Matheus' bad leg to help it feel better. The knight was amused and humored her at first, but with enough visits and hugs... the strength in his leg returned. Matheus believed it to have recovered thanks to the happiness brought by Celia's love and positivity, and he officially adopted her shortly after. Celia was ecstatic to call him her father.
Inspired by her first successful "treatment", Celia fully threw herself into a nursing role. She assisted in the hospital ward in any way she could as a child, beginning with running supplies and small errands back and forth. As she grew older, her fascination with flowers guided her into studying herbalism to further help out; she'd even learned a bit of alchemy to help stock up on their supplies. Her life was simple, but she was happy to help the Templars (and her father) in any way she could to repay them for taking her in.
That was why she was so conflicted the day she discovered she could use healing magic. On one hand, she helped ease a patient's pain! On the other hand... magic was bad. Magic was dangerous, and now she'd tapped into it as an adult. Her father had warned her about magic users, and how their abilities allowed them extra means of deception and trickery. Their powers were great, he said, and could tempt even the noblest of men into corruption. That's why the Templars employed and controlled their mages: to keep their dangerous magic under their watch, safely away from the general populace. Celia had always been uneasy around the mages after that, but if she could use magic... would that make her dangerous? Would she hurt others some day, too...?
Celia didn't attempt her magic for months after that, but it was clear to Matheus that something was bothering her. After all, she was never a good liar; the best she could do was convince herself she'd imagined it. She knew it wasn't the case though, and her desire to help a patient's healing process just barely won out over her fears. She grew a bit bolder, discreetly using her magic in the ward when she was alone and her patients unconscious. Celia told herself it would only be for serious cases, but she continuously found herself making exceptions...
After recently witnessing the Templars' particularly brutal treatment of a mage, Celia immediately ceased her magic usage out of an amplified fear of being discovered. She wanted to hide more than ever, but at the same time... she felt guilt that she could walk around so freely unlike the mages, lying to everyone - especially her own father. She'd always considered confessing her magical abilities to Matheus, but with how much he spoke disdainfully of magic, she feared he would disown her. She feared that rejection would be worse than any punishment she'd have to face, and as such, she's kept herself incredibly closed off to people more than ever before.
Anything else:
- She has a fondness for romance stories.
- She was inspired by my character I was playing in World of Warcraft lol
