Gah, this was going nowhere! No matter how long Donnie watched, the kid just wasn't being left alone! Oh well. No matter. He could still execute his plan. He just needed to have a little subtlety.
Donnie slipped a sign onto the front of his stall, claiming to be "out to lunch", and made his way over to the throng of people. "Hey, I couldn't help but notice the commotion. Are y'all looking for that guy that came in the van?" he asked them. "He just left a little while ago. He went that way, by my stall. He was muttering the whole time. Seemed real out of it. Only thing I could really make out was he said 'He has until noon to make things right.' Any of you fellas know what that's all about?" he asked innocently. He smiled inwardly. He knew that surfer bonehead wasn't in trouble. At least, not in any trouble that demanded such a quick response. If he could successfully lie, however, he'd be moving up the ranks in the doctor's favor. Maybe he'd be trusted with his own family. Maybe he'd be the new right hand man, and that Irish idiot could go kick rocks. Yes, Donnie had many plans, but he had to pull this off, first.
