Relationship: Having been in a coma for over a decade, Crow mostly relies on his father Cardinal to help him readjust to the world. He hasn't seen his brothers Echo or Raven recently, so he's not really sure what to think of them.
Personality:
At 15 years old, Crow fell into a magically induced coma that lasted 13 years. Now awake at 28, he can best be described as conflicted. He didn't have time to mature normally, so he can be a bit childish and stubborn at times. He also often lacks social graces and tends to bluntly speak his mind. Part of this is to make up for feeling lost all the time. He's upset at missing all of the milestones of his youth, making him easily frustrated and prone to lashing out at others. He tries to contain this, but constantly struggles trying to sort through his feelings.
Powers:
Hand to hand combat
He has some skill, but he's mostly an amateur. Before his coma, he mostly got into friendly fights with his friends as a teenager. He's obviously been out of practice since then, but he's picked up training again to keep his mind off of things. He can probably hold his own against another human with some to no experience, but a properly trained fighter could take him down.
Innate Magical Bloodline of the Ancient Crow
From his father Cardinal's side, Crow inherited a magical bloodline believed to be descended from an ancient, magical crow. Said crow was the familiar of a powerful sorcerer. When the sorcerer was killed, the crow took over his work and used his magic to become human. All of his descendants must bear the name of a bird to utilize the bloodline's innate magic.
While Crow Blackmoore fulfills this requirement, he was not trained in magic. However, he still possesses a degree of innate magic that's passively helped him in small ways. For one, this magic helped prevent muscle atrophy during his 13 year coma. He was also able to astral project in his coma, though his lack of training meant he couldn't use it properly and simply interpreted it as a dream. His only important and actively useful skill (so far) is that he's developed the ability to detect magic and magical objects.
Magic sensing
Crow can actively see and feel magic similarly to seeing a light source and feeling a heat source. Like being close to a fire, he can naturally feel if magic is close to him. He can "see" magic from further away than he can feel it. This works even if it has no visible cues, though it'd be harder to "see." If he focuses, Crow can sense magic from a general direction. He can attempt to hone in on a source and track it this way.
Weaknesses:
Though magical in nature, Crow is a normal human and as such is vulnerable to most lethal means of attack. Technology also frustrates him as he's usually too impatient to deal with it.
History:
When Crow's older brother Raven first began learning magic, Crow realized it just wasn't for him. It sounded too complicated with too many risks, and taking risks wasn't something he was too eager to do... not after their mother Rose had gone missing. Her disappearance had shaken the entire family, and for Crow, it seemed to have steered him away from the magical teachings of his family bloodline. Instead, he focused on physically strengthening himself.
Raven took Crow's disinterest as a slight against him. Wanting to get back at him, Raven decided to test out a spell on Crow, believing he could handle it. What was supposed to be a lightning spell ended up placing Crow into a coma for 13 years. When he awoke, he found himself at some sort of care ward. Bewildered, he was eventually placed in the care of a young woman who went by the name Ribbon while he sought to return home. During his wait, Crow's magic bloodline manifested in the form of magic sensing. This (along with his surname) ended up attracting the attention of Bludd Moonbay, an enthusiast with a love for magic and ancient artifacts.
While Bludd first appeared to be a friendly and charitable young man, his actions grew increasingly questionable and erratic as he fixated on Crow and his magic sensing abilities. Crow and Ribbon eventually learned that Bludd specialized in taking magical creatures and fusing them into objects that he could wield for his own gain. He'd sought to use Crow's soul to create his own personal magic sensor, but he was eventually defeated by Ribbon and her allies. Once the ordeal was over, Crow's father Cardinal finally arrived to see him himself and the two were reunited.
Crow has since moved in with his father in Aster City. Now that the excitement has slowed down, he's found himself emotionally struggling with the aftermath of being in a 13 year coma. He constantly waffles between trying to better himself and believing his attempts to be pointless, so he doesn't make much progress. He tends to do small or odd jobs but otherwise can be found hanging around various parts of the city.
Anything else:
- Crow continues my unending trend and obvious love of large boot wearing, punk guy fightboys even though Crow predated Ammo Clan by like, 3 years lol.
- He is constantly surprised by the new technological innovations that have happened while he was unconscious.
- The T-Rex is his favorite dinosaur!
- His grandpa hates him for not practicing magic.
- His outfit usually consists of a black hoodie, or the red vest and black shirt in the below image.
