Family: None

Relationship: He's distrustful of humans and mortals as a whole, though he understands there a couple of good ones like Jun Amano, Mei Amano, and the young man who helped him escape from captivity.
Personality:
A proud dragon warrior with a streak of arrogance, Shiraz cares little for others and sees such things as a waste of time. He is by no means evil, nor does he actively seek to harm others, though he once delighted in wreaking draconic havoc as a show of power. Losing that power was the catalyst that left him distrustful and angry of mortals, which also did no favors for his haughty attitude. After being shown kindness, he's since begun viewing humans and mortals with cautious curiosity. He's still more on the hostile side however and is quick to lash out.
In defiance of how he was betrayed and lost most of his powers, he desires to prove himself the strongest dragon, if not strongest being period. He unfortunately tends to underestimate his opponents and refuses to admit to a loss, preferring to fight until he loses consciousness or dies. Though his attitude is poor, his tenacity is his strongest point.
Powers:
Though a pure dragon, most of Shiraz's powers were stolen from him, locking him into a humanoid form of his own. Though far weaker than he originally was, he's still far more powerful than the average human in his current form.
Super Strength
Inherent from his full abilities of a dragon, he can fling cars around or wield a steel beam with a bit of difficulty. However, he has to train constantly to ensure his human body can continue to withstand the stress of his draconic strength. Because of this, feats of strength tend to fatigue him easier; he prefers using his power for melee attacks.
Flight
He has thick, leathery wings he can use to maneuver in the air. If a projectile breaks through the wing membrane, it won't hurt him; rather, it'll hamper his ability to fly, forcing him to glide instead. His wings can also be used to help him better move around in combat.
Scales + Claws
Shiraz has visible scales on his face, neck, shoulders, wrists and fingers. He has a couple on the tips of his wings and an entire dragon tail covered with them. The scales' toughness increases his defense to the point where he can actually block non magical melee attacks with those parts, though he mostly uses the back of hands and wrists for this. His tail scales aren't as hard, so it's more vulnerable to attacks, but it's prehensile to make up for it.
The scales on his hands are tipped with sharp claws used for slashing and raking at foes, though they're also good for climbing things. He can also ignite his claws by striking them against each other or against hard surface, or breathing fire on them.
Flame Breath
Shiraz can let out short/charged fireball bursts or long streams of flame. The latter gradually diminishes over time. He'll need a bit of time to recharge it, similar to a human making more saliva. He can't use fire breath if his mouth is forced closed and also cannot use it when submerged under water.
Illusionary Magic
Shiraz cares little for his innate magic, preferring to depend on his raw power. That said, while he can't (or won't) do much with it, he can at least use it to hide his dragon parts, though he usually has no desire to do so.
Weaknesses
Though powerful, he lost most of his draconic power and is locked into his human form, making him more vulnerable than he would be as a full on dragon.
Elementally, he has trouble dealing with water and ice. He's constantly trained enough where he can maybe evaporate a water attack or two with his fire breath, but he can't completely nullify it. This is especially a nuisance to him if faced with a constant stream of water, such as from a firehose instead of someone's attack. He's far more vulnerable to ice, winter and cold weather in general. Even though he's more than capable of melting ice, his drained power makes it difficult for him to keep warm, so he's entirely susceptible to freezing.
His incredible pride can also be a detriment to him. He cares about his dignity as a warrior and dragon more than his own life. This is to the point where he would prefer to go down fighting in a blaze of glory instead of running away like a coward to live another day. His distrust of others also tends to make him see others as a nuisance at best, and an enemy at worst.
History:
Shiraz was a brutish dragon who loved to flaunt his power. A loner for as long as he could remember, he lived a simple life of instilling terror in others. Most of his enjoyment came out of harassing small settlements, though this backfired when one of them finally managed to fight back. Underestimating the mortals, he was captured by magical reinforcements. Many called for Shiraz to be slain, but the settlement's elder opted to compromise. Instead of killing him, much of Shiraz' power was taken from him. This confined him to a much more human form, allowing the people to keep Shiraz prisoner as punishment.
Only one person took pity on the dragon man. Sneaking past security and the guards, the young man set Shiraz free. The dragon man himself went berserk in anger at everyone else, lashing out and destroying what he could in hopes of finding his power. Unfortunately, he didn't get quite far; he wasn't yet used to his human form nor his drop on power. He was quickly overpowered by the populace and found himself escaping from the settlement. The young man who set him free later found him in the wilderness, promising Shiraz to help get his power back. Shiraz was bewildered with why a human would help him without an ulterior motive, but the man simply stated that he didn't agree with his city.
In the end, the human failed and Shiraz believed him to be dead. The only lead he'd received was that the key to his power no longer in the village. The young man had mentioned something about the involvement of a group called the Templars. They were the key to Shiraz's downfall the first time, and they were key to retrieving his stolen power. With little else to go on, Shiraz set off to hunt the organization down.
Shiraz spent his travels training himself, despising how easily he could be defeated in his weakling humanoid form. He eventually was scouted out by Gaia Labs, where he was approached by Vares Wynn, its head and founder. He promised to help find a new means of restoring Shiraz' power. Though the dragon man was wary, Vares easily convinced him to his side. Shiraz worked under Gaia Labs for a bit, only breaking away in defiance once he learned that Vares had lied to him. Shiraz was only used for blood samples and genetic materials for experiments; Vares had no interest in assisting him. When Shariz escaped, several heroes pursued him, injuring him as he got away.
Shariz managed to avoid the clutches of Gaia Labs, but he'd fled in the middle of winter. Finding out he was terribly susceptible to the cold in his human form, he struggled to keep moving until he passed out. He later awoke to a warm couch, eventually learning that he'd been taken in by a man and his daughter. He refused to trust them however and left the first moment he was strong enough. Suspicious of their intentions, Shariz ended up lurking around the grounds of their residence. He believed they would be out to get him soon enough, so Shariz would simply have to kill them before that time came. Of course, it never did. Over time, he'd come to realize they were well meaning people who minded their own business.
He was caught off guard when the daughter one day approached him. Introducing herself as Mei, she questioned why he'd been lurking around her home for the last month or two. Shiraz himself was flustered and embarrassed at the fact that she'd known he was there the entire time, though he refused to admit it. Though the introductions were a bit rough, Shariz eventually grew to trust Mei and her father Jun, but again: he refused to admit it.
Shariz now tends to follow Mei around whether she wants it or not. She jokingly calls him her bodyguard, though he insists he's doing her a favor by being proactive. If not watching over Mei, he tends to be out in the mountains training, or out in the open city trying to provoke Templars into fighting him.
Anything else:
- Though he's gotten used to it, he hates his human form because he's trapped in it. (It might grow on him in time, though...)
- He hates wearing clothes, feeling like they constrict his movement. He's gotten used to it, but he's still stubborn about wearing them. He especially hates wearing extra layers when the weather is cold.
- He has striking, strange eyes up close. His pupil is usually a slit, while his iris is yellow with red on the edges.
- Dragon form (if Gaia Labs had helped him restored it with science and magic)
