The Magic Killer: Forged many years ago by the renowned sword makers Drew Gallows and Chad Anderson, this carbon steel/cobalt alloy blade was wielded to great success by Mike’s father and passed down to him after his death. It’s extremely durable and, with enough force, can cut through and stab almost anything. The drawback, however, is its weight. Mike isn’t able to do multiple slashes at once with it and the longer a battle goes, the more of a struggle it is to pick up. It was originally called “The Dragon Killer” by his father but when he received the blade after his father’s death he renamed it.
Armor: Wears a gauntlet on his wrist that makes the armor appear on his body. Mike Emerick’s armor is resemblant of medieval suits of armor, made mainly from stainless steel along with chain mail and a helmet. It also has intricate golden patterns on the plates. Like his sword, it’s very durable and is heavier than Electra’s armor, making it more resistant to physical attacks. It’s also slightly resistant to magical attack, but not completely immune and magical attacks that can pass through armor will effect the user. Due to the weight of the armor and how it can heat up Mike usually fights without the helmet.

Personality: On the surface, Mike seems to carry himself with the nobility and grace of an ideal gentlemanly dragon slayer, albeit with an air of superiority and arrogance. Beneath the facade, however, Mike is a bitter, cruel, cunning, ruthless, manipulative, self-righteous, and angry man. He is only out for himself and his sister, willing to undercut and betray his fellow Dragon Slayers for his own needs (and due to the prestige of his name he more often than not gets away with it). He hates ALL magical creatures, treating them more like monsters, parasites, and second class citizens than fellow beings. He holds very little regard for their lives, and in fact relishes in slaughtering them, even to the point of disturbing fellow Dragon Hunters with his zeal to the cause. While he is smart, he tends to act before he thinks and is very emotional, his sister often having to reign him back when his bad temper gets the better of him. He views himself as the leader the dragon slayers deserve, and will do the backstabbing and politics necessary to get himself to the top.
History: Mike Emerick wasn’t always the rage filled, near psychotic and feared Dragon Slayer seen today. Mike was the son of the legendary Dragon Slayer Richard Emerick the III and his wife, Gertrude Emerick. He was an ambitious young boy, wanting to become a great hero like his father was, and was loved and spoiled by his parents. While he was a bit of a snobby brat due to his high class lifestyle, the potential for greatness was clear in him. His father was renowned not only for his exploits in slaying dragons, but in his kindness and fairness, and when a growing movement began to rise in the organization saying that all magical creatures deserved to die, Richard was one of the main voices speaking against it.
One fateful day, however, everything would change.
While at his mansion Richard Emerick would be visited by an Imp, who frantically told him that a dragon was attacking a nearby village and that the town’s militia wasn’t standing a chance. They leaded a brave leader, a hero, and Richard was the type of man to fill that role. After kissing his wife goodbye (Mike was training in the barracks at the time) he followed the Imp on the path that supposedly lead to the village… but it was a trick! Passing by some rocky cliffs a group of marauders would suddenly jump out and begin attacking, the Imp had lead him directly into an ambush! Despite his strength and skill old age and the overwhelming odds got the better of him… and he was killed. They stripped away his armor and valuables… but before he took his sword a group of fellow Dragon Slayers (who had been following behind on horseback) arrived to chase them away. When news of Richard’s death hit the kingdom there was great mourning throughout, and his death was used as a rallying cry to turn the Dragon Slayers to their more extreme direction. The one impacted most by it, however, was Mike Emerick. The loss of his father impacted him greatly, and turned his heart cold. His desire to protect others became a desire to destroy those he deemed responsible for his father’s unjust death, magical creatures. He would immediately begin to ascend the ranks, going from a simple foot shoulder to general in record time, receiving his rank at only 21 years of age. This was due to his bloodline, politics behind the front lines, and his unmatched devotion to finding and killing any and all magical creatures “for the good of humanity”. His mother would be so appalled and saddened by his actions and new attitude she would run away from the mansion and live on her own as a hermit, unable to bear the sight of what her son had become
Shortly after his father’s death, Mike Emerick’s quest for vengeance came to the house of the Rae’s, who had been friends of the Emericks for years. He seemed set to kill them all in his rage… but pleading from Electra as well as Cammie’s promise to help them both with finding “magics” for them to slay made him change his mind… although there is still clearly tension, Mike Emerick threatening many times to go back on his word should Cammie not hold up to her end of the trade. There are also rumors that he was the one who ordered the school principal to be shot by Samael... but due to the chaos of the event this isn’t confimed.
