Name: Waylon Sykes
Alias: Samael
Age: 34
Race: Human
Powers: (MUST PUT WEAKNESS AND LIMITS)
Physical Condition: Samael, as the sole supporter of his family in the small village he lives in, is very physically fit. His abilities aren’t super human; he merely is very strong and very quick from years of hunting in the woods near his home.
Kax Yumi – The Kax Yumi is a magical bow paired with a quiver that allows the user to spontaneously generate arrows via concentration. Once generated and nocked, the user can concentrate and change the arrow’s type to one of four variants.
The Serpent’s Arrow – Otherwise unchanged from a normal arrow, a small amount of poison is located inside the tip. This poison is a neurotoxin meant to immobilize a struck limb. However, as the poison is located inside the arrowhead, the enemy has a window of time in which to remove the arrow before the poison can fully take hold.
The Bear’s Arrow – A heavier arrow with a barbed tip. The extra weight is meant to help drive the arrowhead into the enemy, causing heavy damage going in and when it is pulled out. Due to their weight, they have a shorter range than other arrows and less accuracy.
The Wolf’s Arrow – An arrow designed to split into three mid-flight. Using this arrow helps to mitigate accuracy by striking the opponent three times; however, each of these three arrows is much lighter than a standard arrow, and the wounds are shallower.
The Falcon’s Arrow – The arrowhead is much narrower, and the arrow flies much faster and farther than normal. It is designed to target an enemy’s weak points and pierce through them. However, due to its slim design, if it misses a vital spot, the amount of damage it does is much less than a regular arrow.
It weighs entirely on the user to use it effectively. The associated quiver can hold up to eighty arrows at a time; the user can replenish these at any time by, again, concentrating. Because of the heavy use of concentration to properly wield this weapon, it excels in shorter battles but requires the user to take time to replenish arrow stock in longer ones. Samael has been using this weapon for most of his life, allowing him to easily concentrate enough to fire special arrows during battle without many problems; he still suffers the drawback of needing to fully concentrate to replenish arrows. Samael, after the event, however, will not use the bow’s special properties without being authorized by his Dragon Slayer commander.
Date of birth: August 31st
Home: A small village, pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
Alignment: (Neutral good, Lawful good, chaotic neutral etc.) Lawful Neutral (Most likely Neutral Good before the event).
Relationship: ((are you with someone, or have a relative?)) Currently being groomed by Rilla, the Dragon of Death, to become her killer. Also has a cousin, Libra Sykes. Samael assumes he perished in the village fire.
Job: Dragon Slayer
Appearance: Middle aged, tanned skin, straight black hair that is only shoulder length in the back; long bangs are swept across his forehead in a left part. He wears a typical hunter’s gear, basic brown, light, leather armor, with his bow and quiver strapped across his back. Typically looks emotionless. Might update with a picture later. Maybe. If I can think about how that actually looks.
Personality: Samael before being attacked by the dragon was merely an average man. He had a family; his parents, his wife, and a new child, and was able to support them on his hunting alone. He was content for all intents and purposes.
Afterwards, however, Samael rapidly changed outlooks. When his family died at the hands of the dragon he fought, he began to mistrust his own decisions. He thus, after joining the Dragon Slayers, vowed to never act on his own again, and only listens to the orders of his commander. He does not move without the go ahead, he does not fire without being told to. Because of this, many have wondered if he’s simply a robot, although it’s been pointed out that even some robots have more autonomy than he does.
History: Samael is an exceptionally good hunter. A few years ago, he was attacked by a dragon while out hunting. While he held his own, the dragon continued its assault. A group of Dragon Slayers were on their way through, and ran in to combat the dragon, at which point Samael told them to stay back and let him fight the dragon on his own, to protect his home. Disregarding the orders of a mere civilian, the Dragon Slayers attacked, driving the dragon off.
When he returned to his home, he found his parents and wife dead. It was at this point that he was approached by a woman who held his newborn child. As he reached out, before his eyes, the woman tossed the baby in the air before transforming into the dragon he had fought before, and impaling it on her tail. Left to stare in shock at the bodies of his family, the dragon quickly flew and methodically incinerated the rest of the village around him.
Afterwards, Samael, with nowhere left to go, tracked down the Dragon Slayers who had passed through and joined their ranks. However, while most would be chomping at the bit and using the Dragon Slayers as a platform for revenge, Samael views his independence when fighting the dragon as the reason for his family’s deaths. Thus, he became more like a machine than a man, renaming himself to Samael, and strictly following orders to the letter. While he certainly desires to kill the dragon that destroyed his life, he does not want to make any more decisions on his own, and thus, remains tied to the Dragon Slayers until he they cross paths again.
He headed to Aster City along with a contingent of Dragon Slayers.
